4. Sufficientairisneededforpropercombustionandexhaustingofgasesthroughtheflue
(chimney)offuelburningequipmenttoprevent backdrafting. Follow the heating equip-
mentmanufacturer’s guidelines and safety standards such asthose published bythe
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating,
RefrigerationandAirConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE),andthe local codeauthorities.
5. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other
hiddenutilities.
6. Ductedfans must always bevented to the outdoors.
7. Donot use this unit withany solid-state speed control device.
8. Toreduce the risk of fire, use only steelductwork.
9. Thisunitmust be grounded.
TOREDUCETHERISK OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE:
A. Neverleavesurfaceunitsunattendedathighsettings.Boiloverscausesmokingandgreasyspillovers
thatmay ignite. Heatoilsslowlyonlow or mediumsettings.
B. AlwaysturnhoodON whencookingathighheatorwhencookingflamingfoods.
C. Cleanventilatingfansfrequently.Greaseshouldnotbeallowed toaccumulateonfanorfilter.
D. Useproperpansize. Alwaysusecookware appropriateforthe sizeofthe surfaceelement.
