mentmanufacturer’s guidelines andsafetystandards such asthosepublishedby the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating,
RefrigerationandAirConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE),andthelocalcodeauthorities.
5. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other
hiddenutilities.
6. Ductedfans must alwaysbe vented tothe outdoors.
7. Donot use this unitwith any separatesolid-state speed control device.
8. Toreduce the riskof fire,use onlymetal ductwork.
9. Thisunitmust be grounded.
TOREDUCETHERISKOF A RANGE TOP GREASEFIRE:
A. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and
greasyspilloversthatmay ignite. Heat oils slowlyonlow or medium settings.
B. Alwaysturn hoodON whencooking athigh heatorwhen flambeing food(i.e. Crepes
Suzette,Cherries Jubilee, Peppercorn BeefFlambe’).
C. Cleanventilatingfans frequently.Greaseshouldnotbe allowedtoaccumulateonfan or
filter.
D. Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface
element.
