• ODS Safety Device
This heater has a pilot with an oxygen depletion sensor shut-o system
(ODS). The ODS pilot shuts o the heater if the normal air oxygen content
in the room is reduced below a safe level.
• Electronic Ignition System
This heater has a one-touch electronic ignitor. This system requires no
matches or other electric sources to light the heater. The ignition system
requires a “C” size 1.5V battery to operate.
• Flame Failure Safety Device
If the flame is extinguished for any reason, the gas supply will shut o
automatically.
• Safety Tilt Switch
If the heater is tilted or knocked over, the heater turns o automatically.

Please read this manual before installing and using the heater.
NOTE: The hose assembly inlet (male bayonet) on this heater MUST BE connected only to an
certified approved female floor socket rated to 7kPa. If your house does not have an certified
approved female floor socket, contact your gas company or an authorised gas fitter to install
an certified approved female floor socket.
• DO NOT store or use petroleum or other flammable vapours and liquids in the vicinity of
this or any other gas appliance.
• DO NOT use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified
service technician to check and service the heater if this occurs.

• Read this manual completely and carefully before connecting to a gas supply
and operating this heater. Improper use of this heater can cause serious injury
or even death from burns, fire, explosion, and/or carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Conversion of this appliance to another gas type is not permitted.
3. GENERAL WARNINGS
• ALL PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED BY CARBON MONOXIDE. CARBON MONOXIDE IS
ODOURLESS AND POISONOUS.
• Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to symptoms of the flu, such as
headaches, dizziness, and nausea. If you notice these symptoms, the heater may not be
working properly. Get fresh air immediately. Switch o the heater and disconnect the gas
supply. The heater must be serviced by an authorised person before being used again.
• Ensure proper installation and servicing of the heater. Follow the installation & operation
instructions provided with this product. The male bayonet is only to be inserted into an
certified approved female floor socket.
• The heater is only to be serviced by an authorised service technician.
• Never use Natural Gas in an appliance designed for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG
Propane).
• Never use LPG in an appliance designed for Natural Gas.
• Contact an authorised gas fitter to check all joints and connections for gas leaks.
• This heater must not be located where it could be subjected to physical damage.
• This heater must not be installed in a bathroom, bedroom, hallway, or recessed fireplace.
• Never install the heater in any of the following locations:
»Recreational vehicles, caravans or marine crafts.
»Where curtains, furniture, clothing or other combustible materials are less than
150cm from the front, 150cm from top or 50cm from sides of the heater.
»High-trac or drafty areas.
• This heater needs fresh air for ventilation to operate properly. This heater has an
Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) pilot light safety system. The ODS turns the heater o
automatically if there is not enough fresh air/oxygen available.
• Never use the heater in a confined space.
• If heater turns o by itself, do not relight until you provide fresh air. If heater continues to
turn o by itself, have the heater serviced by an authorised technician.
• Do not use the heater where:
»Flammable liquids or vapours are used or stored nearby.
»Dusty conditions exist.
»Never place any objects on the heater.

• Ensure the heater is placed on a hearth or a suitable fire proof mat/floor to stop potential
blistering of the floor.
• Supervise children when they are in the same room as the heater, & never allow them to
sit, stand, or play on or around the heater.
• Make sure all grills and guards are properly in place before operating the heater.
• DO NOT use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified
service technician to check and service the heater.
• Keep area around heater clear and free from combustible materials, petrol, and other
flammable vapours and liquids.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
This heater must have fresh air for proper operation. Read the following instructions to
ensure the heater receives enough fresh air.
Modern construction standards have resulted in homes that are highly energy ecient
and allow little heat loss. However, your home still needs to breathe, and all fuel-burning
appliances need fresh air to function properly and safely. Exhaust fans, clothes dryers,
fireplaces and other fuel burning appliances all use the air inside the building. If there is
not enough fresh air available, problems can result.

5. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
NEVER INSTALL THE HEATER IN THESE AREAS
IF YOU INSTALL THE HEATER IN A GARAGE, PLACE THE HEATER
WHERE MOVING VEHICLES WILL NOT HIT IT.
Unusually tight construction
The air that leaks around doors and windows may provide enough fresh air for combustion
and ventilation. However, in buildings of unusually tight construction, you must provide
additional fresh air. Unusually tight construction is defined as construction where:
Walls and ceilings exposed to the outside atmosphere have a continuous water
vapour retarder with a rating of one perm or less with openings gasketed or sealed
and caulking or sealants are applied to areas such as joints around window and door
frames, between sole plates and floors, between wall/ceiling joints, between wall
panels, at penetrations for plumbing, electrical and gas lines, and at other openings.
Unconfined space
An unconfined space has a volume not less than 5 cubic metres for each MJ/hr of the
appliances installed in that space. Rooms directly connected to the space through openings
not furnished with doors are considered part of the unconfined space.
Confined space
A confined space has a volume less than 5 cubic metres for each MJ/hr of the aggregate
input rating of all appliances in that space.
This heater is designed to be placed on the floor only.

Flueless heaters add moisture to the air. Although this is beneficial, installing a heater
in rooms without enough ventilation may cause mildew formation from too much
moisture content. This appliance is only for use with the type of gas indicated on the
rating plate (see page 2 for details). This appliance is not convertible for use with other
gases.

1. Remove heater from carton and remove all protective packaging.
2. Check heater for any damage. If heater is damaged, immediately inform the place of
purchase.
3. Check that the AGA-approved hose assembly is connected to the heater. If the hose
assembly is not already connected to the heater, contact the place of purchase. DO NOT
USE THE HEATER.
4. Read and understand the warning labels on the side of
the heater. If you do not understand the warning labels
contact the place of purchase for assistance.
5. Select a location for the heater that will provide maximum
heat to the room but that will not subject the heater to
accidental contact. Room volume must be a minimum of
105 cubic metres (Note: this is typically a room size of
approx. 8m x 6m x 2.4m ceiling height).
6. Adequate space must be left around the heater.
7. Plug the easy-connect gas hose into an AGA-approved floor socket (see picture).
8. To plug in, insert gas hose into the floor socket, and turn clockwise to lock in place (see
picture).
9. Test for gas leaks by spraying a mild soap and water solution onto the inlet connection
and around the brass nut that connects the hose to the heater. If soap bubbles appear and
enlarge, turn o the gas supply immediately and contact your place of purchase.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
• If there is no AGA-approved female floor socket in your premises, contact an
authorised gas fitter for installation.
• Only an authorised person can install an AGA-approved female floor socket in
accordance with gas fitting regulations.
• This heater is not to be installed as a fixed appliance.
Ensure you have carefully read all safety information at the beginning of this manual
before proceeding. Failing to follow the instructions in this manual exactly could result
in property damage, personal injury, or even loss of life.
1. Plug gas hose into the floor socket (see steps 7 & 8 in the “Installation” section).
2. To ignite the heater, push the “PILOT/IGN” button down and keep pressed for 10-seconds.
You will hear the clicking noise of the ignitor and the heater should then light.
3. If heater does not light, repeat step 2. Repeat no more than 3 times and wait 30-seconds
between attempts.
4. To select the heating level, move the heat level control knob to the right for maximum
heat output or to the left for minimum heat output.
5. To turn heater o, push “OFF” button down. This will cause the “PILOT/IGN” button to lift
up. Ensure heater has turned o.

Pilot and Burner Inspection
Each time you light your heater, check that the pilot flame and burner flame patterns are as
shown below. If pilot flame patterns are incorrect, turn the heater o and contact your place
of purchase or an authorised service technician for assistance. Do not operate the heater if
the pilot flame pattern is incorrect.
Note:
• Do not mistake orange flames with yellow tipping. Dirt or other particles may enter the
heater and cause patches of orange flame.
• If the heater does not operate correctly, contact your place of purchase or an authorised
service technician.
If yellow tipping occurs, your heater could be producing increased levels of carbon
monoxide, which can be damaging to health. If burner flame pattern shows yellow
tipping (see below), follow instructions in the “Troubleshooting” section.

8. MAINTENANCE
If using the heater for the first time after more than 3 months, it is recommended that you
do the following:
»Replace the ignitor battery
»Check the hose assembly for any wear or damage (if any damage is detected,
promptly contact your place of purchase for help before operating the
heater)
»Check for leaks (see step 9 in “Installation” section)
• It is recommended that an authorised person performs a yearly maintenance check
on the heater.
• If the hose assembly is more than 5 years old, it is recommended to be replaced by an
authorised person.
• See “Troubleshooting” for common problems.
• Any replacement parts or accessories should be available from your place of
purchase.
• DO NOT MODIFY THIS APPLIANCE.

10. WARRANTY
1. WARRANTY PERIOD
Bromic Pty Limited (‘Bromic’) warrants to the original purchaser (‘the Purchaser) of this Bromic
‘Supaheat II’ heater (‘the Heater), that the Heater will be free from defects or faults in materials and/
or workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase (‘the Warranty Period’).
2. WARRANTY CONDITIONS
2.1 Subject to the following conditions, if a defect or fault in parts or workmanship is found during
the Warranty Period, Bromic will replace or repair the Heater or part of it (at its option) without
charge to the Purchaser.
2.2 Bromic may undertake any repairs or nominate an authorised repair agent to do so.
2.3 The Purchaser must retain the original purchase docket and produce it to Bromic at the time of
making a claim under this Warranty.
2.4 The Purchaser must report any potential fault and/or defect to Bromic as soon as possible after
discovery of the potential fault and/or defect.
2.5 The requirement for repair or replacement of the Heater must have arisen solely from faulty
and/or defective materials and/or workmanship and must not be due to misuse, neglect, accident,
improper installation, unauthorised modification, unauthorised attempted repair, failure to comply
with the Heater’s instruction manual and/or markings on the Heater or other abuse which, in the
reasonable opinion of Bromic, was caused by the Purchaser or any agent or employee of the
Purchaser.
2.6 Bromic is not liable for any transport costs incurred in connection with a warranty investigation
or service of the Heater within the Warranty Period.
2.7 Bromic reserves its right to invoice the Purchaser for any investigation or service (including parts
and labour) which is found not to be connected to a warranty issue.
2.8 Bromic is not liable for any incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from any cause
whatsoever including but not limited to loss or damage arising from misuse of the Heater, neglect,
accident, improper installation, unauthorised modification, unauthorised attempted repair, failure
to comply with the Heater’s instruction manual and/or markings on the Heater and/or any cause
independent of human control that occurs after the Heater has left the control of Bromic.
3. CLAIMING UNDER THE WARRANTY OR CONSUMER GUARANTEES
3.1 Please contact Bromic as soon as possible after discovery of a potential defect and/or fault with
the Heater to arrange for it to be tested and/or serviced.
3.2 All warranty enquires and/or claims should be directed to Bromic’s Head Oce via its postal
address - 10 Phiney Place, Ingleburn NSW 2565 or by telephoning 1300 276 642 (within Australia) or
sending a fax to 1300 735 115
4. CONSUMER GUARANTEES UNDER THE ACL
In addition to the Warranty extended by Bromic to the Purchaser, the Australian Consumer Law
requires that Bromic provide the following additional guarantees to consumers (as that word is
defined by the Competition and Consumer Act) in respect of consumer goods (as defined by that
Act) supplied in Australia.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other
reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced
if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Do not allow curtains or other flammable materials to come into contact
with the heater. Do not store flammable products next to the heater.
Do not leave this unit alight when you leave the house. Turn o before sleeping. Do not place any articles containing liquid on top of the heater.
