Replacement and Adjustment of the feed rollers and the clamping bar
Preparations:
1. Remove the guard plate 12206.00.0.00.
2. Remove the cover sheet.
3. Set the feed length to maximum feed length.
4. Turn off or disconnect the oil pump.
5. Jump the oil pressure switch if necessary.
6. Set the selector switch to “break open” position, so that the
machines’ eccentric shaft can be turned manually.

Disassembly of the clamping bar and the feed rollers
1. Disassemble clamping bar
2. To access the clamping screws of the rollers M6x30 the eccentric
shaft has to be turned accordingly.
Installation of the lower feed roller
1. Turn to BDC position.
2. Install the tension bracket 12116.00.0.00 and the lower feed roller
12115.00.0.00 with the screws M6x30 but do not tighten the
screws.
Important: The distance between the tension bracket and the
feed roller has to be exactly the same on both sides (check
eventually with the feeler gauge).
3. At the side take the average of the feed roller to the clamping bar.
4. Adjust the feed roller horizontally. (Press has to be at BDC or TDC
position, if there is no phase quadrature.)
5. Measure the distance between the roller ends and the base
surface of the housing with a ruler and take the average.
6. Tighten the four screws M6x30 with Loctite 243 and a torque of
14Nm.

Installation of the upper feed roller
1. Bring the lower feed roller to a vertical position by turning the
machine over at the bevel drive.
2. Install the upper feed roller at the roller shaft 12112.00.0.00 but
do not tighten and position at the arrest point.
3. Please check by turning the crank shaft if the end of the upper feed
roll matches with the end of the lower feed roll.
4. Tighten the four screws M6x30 with Loctite 243 and a torque of
14Nm.
Installation of the clamping bar
1. The play between the hexagon screws M6x40 and the drilled hole
has to be compensated to the back ( necessary for the later
adjustment of the clamping bar).

Basic setting of the feed rollers and the clamping bar
1. Set the material thickness scale to zero.
2. Remove the plug screw M14x1,5.
3. Set feeding length to 20mm.
4. Set the spring force of the roller press springs to 10mm.
5. To position the feeder you need a piece of steel with Ø 12mm and
a length of 150mm.This bolt has to be put into the drilling of the
plug screw M14x1,5. By turning the crank shaft slowly and carefully
you will find the position of the hose connector 12140.00.1.00. This
adjusting drilling is the feeding start for a BBV feeder installed on
the left hand and the feeding end for a BBV feeder installed on the
right hand side. (feeding direction = feeder installation).
6. Set to control valve to feeding without roller lifting.
7. The lifter spindles 12330.00.0.00 may not lean on the lifter seats
12122.00.0.00 this may lead to a misadjustment.
Should the lifter spindle be fixed, the adjusting screw of the roller
lifter has to be turned back.
8. Set the control valve to open position.

9. Push two foils with a thickness of 0,02mm under the feed rollers on
the left and the right hand side (length of foil approx. 250mm).
10. Place two foils with a thickness of 0,02mm on the left and the right
hand side between the clamping bar and strip feeding table.
11. Set the control valve to feeding without roller lifting position.
12. Adjust the strip thickness until the two foils between the feed rollers
are fixed however the two foils between the clamping bar have to
be lose.
13. The clamping bar has to be adjusted by carefully hitting with a
small hammer and a key steel so that the two foils under the
clamping bar are fixed and can not be pulled out. (the two foils
under the feed rollers have to remain fixed)
14. By turning the strip thickness adjustment clockwise (direction 0)
pressure is given on the feed roller and the clamping bar is lifted.
Turn until the two foils under the clamping bar can be moved.
Should only one foil be movable, turn until the second one can be
moved as well Please mark the setting on the scale.
Important:: In this case the adjustment process has to be
repeated starting with item 12.

15. By turning the strip thickness adjustment counter-clockwise the
feed rollers are lifted until the two foils are free. Please mark the
setting on the scale.
Import: Should both foils not be released at the same time, the
adjustment process has to be repeated starting with item 12.
16. The clamping bar has to be fixed with the two hexagonal screws
M6x40 (Loctite 243) and a torque of 9Nm.
17. Go with the strip thickness adjustment to the centre of the markings
on the scale All four foils have to be fixed!
18. Set the strip thickness scale 12234.00.1.00 to Zero.
19. Remove the mounting bolts Ø 12mm and mount the plug screw
M14x1,5 with a copper ring.
20. Place two foils (length approx. 500mm ) under the feed rollers and
the clamping bar. Set the control valve to wihout roller lifting
position and die Maschine durchdrehen.
Important: The two foils with a thickness of 0,02mm have to
remain fixed during the entire process. There should be no pulling
be noticed at the passage terminal strip – feed rollers – terminal
strip.
21. Mount the guard sheet 12206.00.0.00 again.
22. Turn on reconnect the oil pump.

Roller lifting adjustment
1. Set the control valve to semi-lifting position (clamping bar closed
and feeder rollers open)
2. Press the piston by hand to the limit stop.
3. Open the adjusting screw until there is no pressure on the limit
stop.
4. Close the adjusting screw by half a roation which results in a light
pressure on the limit stop.
5. Set the control lever to “feeding with roller lifting” position.
6. Bring the press to BDC position (lowest point of the tappet pin)
This position has to be measured with the dial gauge at the rocker
arm.

7. Should the tappet pins not be free, loosen up the pin screws until
both pins are free. Restart at point 6 again.
8. Turn the first tappet pin screw 12331.00.0.00 clockwise until the
tappet pin lays starts to move the dial gauge (indicator).
Afterwards turn the screw further to give 0.01mm tension on the
rocker arm.
9. Counter the tappet pin screw by means of the hexagonal nut
M10x0,8d.
10. Repeat the same procedure at the second tappet pin.
11. Check the pilot release function with two shims of 0,02mm
thickness and 500mm length.
