Useful informaon about
Brunata Futura Heat
Congratulaons on your heat cost allocator!
This leaet provides informaon about the
electronic heat cost allocator Futura Heat which
has just been ed on your radiators. The meter
can be read remotely and contains various
informaon which you can see on the display
and learn more about in the folder. You can also
read about how to reduce heang consumpon
- for the benet of the environment and your
nances.
Heat cost allocaon
Brunata Futura Heat is a heat cost allocator
used for registering the heang consumpon
from a radiator. All heat cost allocators in the
property are typically read once a year and the
residents are charged for heang on the basis
of the individual home’s consumpon relave
to that of the enre property.
Patented measuring concept
Brunata Futura Heat is a heat cost allocator with
two-sensor measuring. In addion, Brunata
Futura Heat measures all the heat which the
radiator emits to the room (plus heat) and all
the heat which the radiator absorbs from the
room (minus heat). Deducng the minus heat
from the plus heat provides the heat received
from the central heang system. You are
charged only for this heat. Heat from the sun,
wood-burning stoves, etc. is not registered as
heang by the meter.
Reader-friendly display
It is easy to read the meter. There is no
need to push buons and the meter display
provides informaon about: your total heang
consumpon this year, your consumpon last
year, the scale and control gure used and the
meter number.
Consumpon this year
Scale and control no.
Consumpon last year
Meter no.
Consumpon this year
The heang consumpon is measured in
units and added up. This is shown as on
the meter display. On the rst day of the new
heang accounts year, the ‘consumpon this
year’ automacally resets to zero.
Consumpon last year
The consumpon last year is registered on
the cut-o date for the property’s heang
accounts year. The value is saved in the meter
and shown on the display as . This allows
you to monitor your heang consumpon and
compare it with last year’s consumpon.
Scale and control number
During the installation, each meter is
adjusted to the radiator output by using a
scale. The scale ensures that the heating
consumption is correctly measured and
comparable with the consumption on other
radiators with the same type of heat cost
allocator. The scale is indicated by the last
three digits on the display and does not
change. The first two digits on the display
are a control figure which Brunata uses
internally to ensure the meter has been read
correctly (the control figure is not fixed, but
changes regularly).
Meter number
Each meter has its own unique meter number.
When Brunata prepares the heang accounts,
the meter number provides informaon about
installaon locaon, scale, etc.
Future Heat remembers everything
The current heang consumpon is auto-
macally saved in the meter’s memory. It
therefore is not necessary to read the meter
on the actual cut-o date in connecon with
removal. Brunata can read the meter at a later
me.
If Futura Heat is exposed to aempts of
manipulaon or other interference, these
are also registered in the memory. These
registraons are checked in connecon with
the annual reading, residents moving out or in
and the processing of any complaints.
Due to the many saved registraons of
heang consumpon and radiator/room
temperatures, it is possible to assess whether
unusual energy consumpon is caused by bad
user habits, faults in the heang system or
inadequate building insulaon.
Long lifeme
Futura Heat has a very long life because the
baeries are replaceable. It uses a lithium
baery lasng up to ten years at normal
operaon.
If consumpon is registered even though the
thermostat is turned o
If the heat cost allocator registers units even
though the thermostat valve is turned o, it may
be because the radiator emits unwanted heat.
The reason for this may for instance be a leaking
thermostat valve or hot water owing into the
radiator through the return pipe at the boom
(only possible in single-string systems). If this
happens, you should contact the landlord
immediately.
Do not compare readings from dierent
heang meter types
If you used to have heang meters of a dierent
brand or type, the consumpon registered by
the old meters is not immediately comparable
with that registered by the new Futura Heat
allocators.
A Brunata heat cost allocator typically
registers more measuring units per input
heang energy unit than older heang
meters. However, you will not pay more than
before, because the cost per unit is reduced
correspondingly (provided your consumpon
and/or the cost of energy do not change).
The greater resoluon into more units
ensures a more accurate and fair allocaon
of the property’s total heang consumpon.
Use heang sensibly
1. Use all radiators, but do not turn
them up more than necessary.
2. As a rule, keep all your windows
closed during the heang season,
also in the bedroom. Air the
rooms two or three mes a day
by opening the windows for
approx. ve minutes, so all the
humidity and bad air are drawn
out. Remember to turn o all
radiators before airing the room
and ideally wait a few minutes
before turning them on again
aer closing the windows.
3. Never turn o all the heang
in a room. All rooms should be
heated, although they do not all
have to be heated to the same
temperature.
4. Considerable heang savings are
obtained by reducing the room
temperature at night and possibly
during the day. Remember that
when you want to increase the
temperature again, you just need
to return the thermostat valve to
its normal seng.
5. Never cover a radiator while
it is on as it reduces the heat
emission. Radiators also should
not be covered by curtains.
