FCC Regulations
This stairlift has been tested and complies with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant
to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can
radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does
cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning
the equipment o and on, try to correct the interference by one or more of the of the following:
• Reorient or relocate receiving antenna.
• Increase separation between equipment and receiver.
• Consult your dealer.

SAFETY
General Safety Tips
• Read and understand operating and safety precautions prior to using the stairlift.
• Clear stairs of objects before operating stairlift.
• Stay aware of surface onto which you are stepping as you get on/o the stairlift.
• Remove any ice and snow from the cover and safety mechanisms (eg. footrest)
as soon as possible.
• Avoid carrying items on the stairlift which could hinder movement of the unit.
• Avoid loose clothing that could interfere with stairlift movement.
• Fasten positioning belt before operating stairlift.
• Ensure seat is locked in the correct riding position.
• Lock the swivel seat in place before getting on/o the stairlift
• Avoid cleaning the stairlift with a high-pressure washer
• Lean toward the upstairs for the smoothest ride if you cannot remain seated upright.
• Avoid using stairlift if lightening has occurred within previous 20 minutes.
Safety Features
Speed: The stairlift is designed to travel down the stairway at a slightly slower speed than
traveling up.
Obstruction sensors: Sensors in the stairlift footrest will stop the carriage if an obstacle is
encountered on the stairs. If this should occur, press the opposite side of the armrest control
switch to run the carriage in the opposite direction. Clear the obstacle and resume travel.
Power outage: Your stairlift is battery powered and will operate for some time during a power
outage, depending on the battery condition, length of stairs and weight of rider. Only in the
event of a prolonged power outage – more than one hour – will it be necessary to turn the
power o (circuit breaker switch on the carriage) and turn o or unplug the charger from the
wall outlet to conserve battery charge.
Note: After a harsh winter, especially if the stairlift has not been used for an extended period
of time, contact a Bruno dealer to inspect the unit before putting stairlift back in service.

OPERATION
Bruno’s stairlift features a “soft-start,” preventing the unit from moving abruptly after the
armrest control switch is pressed. Press and hold the armrest control to begin the gentle
acceleration of the stairlift to operating speed. The stairlift will automatically stop at the upper
or lower end of the rail or when the armrest control is released.
Units equipped with an arm rest key switch: Turning the key to the OFF position will
disable the unit and the remote call/send transmitters.
How to Operate Your Bruno Stairlift
• Loosen drawstring and remove the top seat cover of stairlift
• Ensure the seat is in the proper riding position: rider back to the stairway wall
- Raise and hold the seat swivel lever to rotate the seat to the “riding position,” if needed.
- Release the seat swivel lever to secure seat. The stairlift will not operate unless the seat
is locked in the “riding position,” a right angle to the rail.
• Fasten the positioning belt.
• Position both feet on the footrest and arms on armrest cushions.
• Turn the key to ON position.
• Press and hold armrest control switch to travel up or down the rail.
• Release armrest control switch when you have reached the top/bottom landing.
• Raise and hold the seat swivel lever at top landing; rotate the seat to desired position.
• Release seat swivel lever and allow seat to lock in position.
• Unbuckle positioning belt and carefully exit the seat.
• Fold armrests, seat and footrest after use, if preferred.
• Turn the key to OFF position.
• Keep seat dry by placing cover over seat and tighten drawstring
• Fold and store the top cover under seat if not used.
Note: Never remove the bottom carriage covers, except for service.
Wireless Remote Operation
You may also move your stairlift by using one of two remote
controls included with your Bruno stairlifts.
Do not use the remote controls to move the stairlift
when a rider is on the seat.

OPERATION
Standard Swivel Seat
Swivel Positions: The Elite Curve seat, with standard
armrests, swivels a total of 135 degrees. The seat locks in
three positions: the center “home” position and 60 and 90
degrees at the top landing. (Some installations allow the
chair to swivel 45 degrees to the bottom landing.)
How to Rotate Seat: Swivel the seat at the top landing to
safely exit away from the steps. Lift the release handle
located under the seat (on either side of the chair). Once the
swivel lever is released, the seat will lock in the closest 60-
or 90-degree position
Flip-Up Seat: Save space on your stairs when your stairlift is
not in use by ipping up the seat and armrests. Swivel release

CIRCUIT BREAKER
Note: The stairlift includes an ON/OFF switch with a
built-in circuit breaker that protects the battery,
controller and motor circuits in the stairlift carriage.
It is unlikely the circuit breaker will trip. However, if
the stairlift becomes inoperative, check the circuit
breaker and reset if needed. Possible causes of
circuit breaker tripping:
• Foreign object jamming the rail or gear rack.
• Exceeding the rated weight capacity of the
stairlift.

Keeping Stairlift Charged
Bruno’s stairlifts are powered by two 12v batteries that
charge when the lift is parked tightly against the brackets
at either end of the rail. If the stairlift carriage does not
contact the upper or lower charge brackets, the batteries
will slowly drain.
Failure to keep the batteries charged, or allowing them
to fully discharge, will signicantly shorten battery life.
Therefore, it is important to park the stairlift at either end
of the rail.

temperature-controlled, dry location. If it has to be exposed to

MAINTENANCE TIPS
Remote Battery Replacement
• Detach transmitter from the wall.
• Remove the rear cover.
• Remove old battery and replace with new 9v battery
(replace annually).
• Remount transmitter on the wall.
General Maintenance Tips
• Keep the rail channel clean and free of debris.
• Park the stairlift at one end of the rail when not in use
to keep batteries charged.
• Keep battery charger plugged into a live outlet.
• Contact your Bruno dealer annually to have the
stairlift examined, cleaned and lubricated.
Note: Scratches to paint during handling, installation
or normal use should be retouched using paint available
through your Bruno dealer. Inspect painted surfaces for
scratches upon receipt, after installation, and once a year.
Failure to touch up scratches that cause limited rusting may
void the warranty.
Vacation and Long-Term Storage
• Turn o the circuit breaker (ON/OFF switch near the seat).
• Remove all keys (remotes and armrest keyswitch) and
store in safe location.
• Remove batteries from and store according to battery
manufacturer’s instruction.
• Unplug battery charger from wall outlet and store indoors.
• Place cover over the stairlift and tighten the drawstring.
Once you are ready for the stairlift to return to action, take
the following steps:
• Have batteries reinstalled in the SRE-2010 E.
• Loosen seat cover drawstring and remove cover.
• Clean, dirt and moisture from the seat and carriage.
• Have fresh coat of grease applied to gear rack.
• Insert keys in the armrest keyswitch and remotes.
• Turn on the circuit breaker (ON/OFF switch near the seat).
• Reconnect the battery charger to an AC outlet.
• Run the stairlift up and down the rail several times to
verify correct operation.
Note: Batteries may require recharging before normal use
if the stairlift was unused for an extended period of time. To
recharge, turn on the circuit breaker, reconnect the charger
to the wall outlet and wait until the charger LED light turns
green to indicate the batteries are fully charged.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Stairlift Operates Very Slowly
If the batteries on your stairlift are low, the stairlift will move slowly or slowly and/or stop. If
possible, bring your stairlift down to the “charging” position at the top or bottom of the rail to
recharge. Partially charged batteries will allow the stairlift to go down the rail but not up. If the
stairlift continues to run slow or stops, please contact a Bruno dealer to replace batteries.
Stairlift Will Not Operate
• Check the LED lights on the charger.
- Green light shows batteries fully charged.
- Yellow light means stairlift is charging.
- Red light depicts charger receiving electricity, but stairlift not receiving power. For example,
the stairlift might not be resting on the charge strips, the charge strips may be dirty or a
wire is disconnected between charger and rail.
Possible Electrical Issues:
• Check on/o switch on the side of the stairlift seat to make sure it’s in the “on” position.
Flip switch “on/o” to reset.
• Look at diagnostic display under seat. Press an arm switch or remote.
If nothing displays, there is no power to the unit.
• Validate the stairlift charger is plugged into a wall outlet.
• Ensure the wall outlet is working by hooking up a lamp or other device.
• Check that a main circuit breaker in your home has not been tripped or fuse blown
(in fuse box of your home).
• Inspect that the cord is not plugged into a “switched” outlet that only receives current when
light switch is turned on.
Keyed Stairlift Units: Make sure key is in “on” position.
Possible Safety Trigger:
• Clear stairs of any objects that may cause the obstruction safety sensors in footrest
to stop lift.

Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. is so condent in our USA-designed and built units that we provide
every original buyer with the following “Industry Leading” warranty for your peace of mind.
The quality of parts we use and the care our employees take allow Bruno to provide the original buyer of
its Bruno Stairlift with a 2-year warranty that all parts are free of defects in material and workmanship.
Because of the reliability found in Bruno’s Stairlift product Bruno is able to provide the original buyer with
an extended 5-year warranty of the Major Components of the product, to include the motor/gearbox
drive train and rail system. Bruno’s warranty periods begin with the date of the installation of the Bruno
Stairlift.
Bruno Authorized Dealers are trained to evaluate your unique situation and then install the best Bruno
product to meet your needs. The trained installation and service technicians employed by an Authorized
Dealer have the appropriate equipment and resources needed to correctly install and maintain your new
stairlift and are the rst contact for any warranty or service needs.
Specics Of The Warranty Coverage:
• All Parts are free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years after the date of
installation.
• All MAJOR COMPONENTS are free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ve years after
the date of installation.
• All labor to address any product defect by a Bruno Authorized Dealer is covered for the rst 30 days
after installation.
What Is Not Warranty Coverage:
• Damage to units caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, neglect or modications NOT made by a
Bruno Authorized Dealer.
• Consumable items such as remote batteries.
• All labor by a Bruno Authorized Dealer after the rst 30 days since installation.
• Reasonable wear and tear.
Additional Notes:
All Service and Warranty issues are handled through the Bruno Authorized Dealer that installed the unit.
• In no event shall Bruno be responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, whether such
damages arise based on claims based on contract, warranty, tort (including negligence, strict liability or
product liability).
• Bruno reserves the right to replace, repair or, if not commercially practical and/or feasible, to elect to
refund the purchase price at its sole discretion.
• This warranty gives the original buyer specic legal rights, and you may also have other rights which
vary from state to state. Bruno specically does not authorize any person to extend the time or scope

SÉCURITÉ
Consignes générales de sécurité
• Lire et comprendre les instructions d’utilisation et les mesures de précaution avant d’utiliser le monte-

• Enlever tout objet sur l’escalier avant de faire fonctionner le monte-escalier.

• Verrouiller le siège pivotant avant de monter sur le monte-escalier ou d’en descendre.
• Éviter de nettoyer le monte-escalier à l’aide d’un nettoyeur à haute pression.
• Se pencher lors de la montée à l’étage pour obtenir le mouvement le plus uide en cas d’impossibilité
de se tenir assis droit.
• Éviter d’utiliser le monte-escalier si des éclairs se sont produits au cours des 20 minutes précédentes.
Dispositifs et caractéristiques de sécurité
Vitesse : Le monte-escalier est conçu pour se déplacer en bas de l’escalier à une vitesse légèrement plus
faible que lors de la montée.
Capteurs d’obstacle : Des capteurs situés dans le repose-pied du monte-escalier permettent d’arrêter
le chariot si un obstacle est détecté sur les marches. Si cela se produit, appuyer sur le côté opposé de
l’interrupteur de commande de l’accoudoir pour déplacer le chariot dans la direction opposée. Enlever
l’obstacle et poursuivre le déplacement.
Coupure de courant : Le monte-escalier est alimenté par batterie et fonctionne un certain temps lors
d’une coupure de courant, selon l’état de la batterie, la longueur de l’escalier et le poids du passager.
Uniquement dans le cas d’une coupure de courant prolongée (plus d’une heure), il est nécessaire de
couper l’alimentation (interrupteur de disjoncteur sur le chariot) et d’éteindre ou de débrancher le
chargeur de la prise murale pour conserver la charge de la batterie.
Remarque : Après un hiver rigoureux, en particulier si le monte-escalier n’a pas été utilisé pendant
une longue période, s’adresser à un revendeur Bruno pour inspecter l’appareil avant de le remettre en
service.

FONCTIONNEMENT
Le monte-escalier Bruno comporte un « démarrage en douceur », ce qui empêche l’appareil de se
déplacer brusquement après qu’une pression soit exercée sur l’interrupteur de commande de l’accoudoir.
Tenir la commande de l’accoudoir enfoncée pour démarrer l’accélération légère du monte-escalier jusqu’à
la vitesse de fonctionnement. Le monte-escalier s’arrête automatiquement à l’extrémité supérieure ou
inférieure du rail, ou lorsque la commande de l’accoudoir est relâchée.
Appareils équipés d’un interrupteur à clé d’accoudoir : Le fait de tourner la clé à la position d’ARRÊT (OFF)
désactive l’appareil et les émetteurs d’appel/envoi à distance.
Comment utiliser le monte-escalier Bruno
• Desserrer le cordon de serrage et retirer la housse supérieure de siège du monte-escalier.
• Vérier que le siège est dans la position de déplacement appropriée : passager dos à la paroi de
l’escalier.
- Soulever et tenir la manette de pivotement de siège pour faire tourner le siège à la position de
déplacement, le cas échéant.
- Relâcher la manette de pivotement de siège pour xer le siège. Le monte-escalier ne fonctionne
pas si le siège n’est pas verrouillé dans la position de déplacement, à angle droit du rail.
• Fixer la ceinture de positionnement.
• Placer les deux pieds sur le repose-pied et les bras sur les coussins d’accoudoir.
• Tourner la clé à la position de MARCHE (ON).
• Tenir l’interrupteur de commande de l’accoudoir enfoncé pour se déplacer vers le haut ou le bas du
rail.
• Relâcher l’interrupteur de commande de l’accoudoir lors de l’arrivée en haut ou en bas.
• Soulever et tenir la manette de pivotement de siège à l’arrivée en haut; faire tourner le siège à la
position souhaitée.
• Relâcher la manette de pivotement de siège et laisser le siège se verrouiller
dans cette position.
• Déboucler la ceinture de positionnement et sortir du siège avec précaution.
• Replier les accoudoirs, le siège et le repose-pied après l’utilisation, selon les
préférences.
• Tourner la clé à la position d’ARRÊT (OFF).
• Garder le siège au sec en plaçant la housse sur le siège et en tendant le
cordon de serrage.
• Plier et ranger la housse supérieure sous le siège si elle n’est pas utilisée.
Remarques : Ne jamais retirer les housses inférieures du chariot, sauf en cas de réparation.
Fonctionnement des télécommandes sans l
Il est également possible de déplacer le monte-escalier à l’aide de l’une
des deux télécommandes incluses avec le monte-escalier Bruno.
Ne pas utiliser les télécommandes pour déplacer le monte-escalier
lorsqu’un passager est sur le siège.

FONCTIONNEMENT
Siège pivotant standard
Positions de pivotement : Le siège incurvé Elite, doté d’accoudoirs
standards, pivote d’un total de 135 degrés. Le siège se verrouille
dans trois positions : à la position centrale d’« accueil » et à
60 et 90 degrés à l’arrivée en haut. (Certaines installations
permettent au fauteuil de pivoter de 45 degrés à l’arrivée en
bas.)
Comment faire tourner le siège : Faire pivoter le siège à l’arrivée
en haut pour s’éloigner des escaliers en toute sécurité. Soulever
la manette de pivotement située sous le siège (de n’importe quel
côté du fauteuil). Une fois la manette de pivotement relâchée, le
siège se verrouille dans la position de 60 degrés ou 90 degrés la
plus proche.
Siège et accoudoirs rabattables : Réaliser un gain d’espace lorsque le
monte-escalier n’est pas utilisé en rabattant le siège et les accoudoirs. Manette de

DISJONCTEUR
Remarques : Le monte-escalier comporte un interrupteur
ON/OFF (MARCHE/ARRÊT) doté d’un disjoncteur intégré
qui protège la batterie, le dispositif de commande et les
circuits moteurs du chariot du monte-escalier. Il est peu
probable que le disjoncteur se déclenche. Toutefois, si le
monte-escalier devient inopérant, vérier le disjoncteur
et le réarmer le cas échéant. Causes possibles d’un
déclenchement de disjoncteur :
• Corps étranger coinçant le rail ou la crémaillère.
• Dépassement de la capacité nominale en poids du
monte-escalier.

CHARGE et CODES DE DIAGNOSTIC (sous le siège)
Garder le monte-escalier chargé
Le monte-escalier Bruno est alimenté par deux batteries de
12 V qui chargent lorsque le fauteuil élévateur est à l’arrêt,
installé fermement contre les supports à l’une ou l’autre des
extrémités du rail. Si le chariot du monte-escalier n’est pas en
contact avec les supports de charge supérieur ou inférieur, les
batteries se déchargeront lentement.
Si le niveau de charge des batteries n’est pas maintenu ou
qu’on les laisse se décharger complètement, leur durée de
vie sera nettement raccourcie. C’est pourquoi il est important
de laisser le fauteuil élévateur à l’arrêt à l’une ou l’autre des
extrémités du rail.
