Troubleshooting & frequently asked
questions
What happens if the power cord is unplugged?
If the power cord is unplugged or there is a power outage, the Buttercup cooling
function will shut o. However, Buttercup is insulated from external heat just like any
refrigerator.
Buttercup is cooling the butter too much/not cooling it enough.
See the section ‘adjustment of the cooling function’ at the top of this page.
The lights on the side of the device are lit or blinking. What does this mean?
The 16 indicator LEDs are used to tell the user what the device is doing. A legend of the
various indicator signals can be found in the table on page 8.
Buttercup is making a lot of noise
When starting a warm Buttercup/using warm butter, the fan speed will rise temporarily
to bring the device/butter down to the desired temperature. As soon as the desired
temperature is reached, the fan speed will go down again.
Adjustment of the cooling function
Buttercup can keep butter at a temperature of 14–19 °C, but is set at a standard
temperature of 17 °C. If you want to adjust the temperature, do the following:
1. Turn on Buttercup and go to the adjustment menu by pressing and holding the
Start button (1) for approx. 2 seconds until 5 blue LEDs are lit to indicate the
pre-set cooling level.
2. Adjust the temperature by pressing the Start button (1) repeatedly until the desired
temperature is reached. Aer 5 seconds, the LEDs indicating the selected
cooling level will blink to confirm your selection.
3. Maximum cooling level is reached when all the 8 LEDs are lit.

to prevent the old butter from aecting the storage duration of the new butter.
