5.2 Functioning of the door system
The SECTIOLITE®consists of multiple door panels that are connected to one another with hinges and thus
represent a door panel group. Guide rollers are attached to the header pieces of each door panel, which guide
the entire door in the tracks and keep it in position.
5.2.1 SECTIOLITE ® movement mechanism
The drive torque transferred through the belt from the drive mechanism is applied to the door through the driver
attached to the bottom door panel and thus enables door movement.
The door can be opened and closed with control buttons or other control devices, e.g. radar detectors, optical
sensors. See the Operation chapter for information about this.
For opening, the door is raised by the drive system and is closed again using gravity (braked by the drive
system).
5.2.2 Variants of SECTIOLITE®sectional doors
When opening, door sections are routed under the ceiling and into the interior of the hall (see the middle
drawing). Therefore, a lintel height of at least 350mm is sufficient. The following variants are possible:
Rails guided along the roof (the door follows the roof geometry) - left drawing
Standard version (the door goes up with a 90° deflection) - middle drawing
Vertical rails (the door goes up without any deflection) - right drawing
Note!
The horizontally running tracks must be kept free of deposits, i.e. foreign bodies, dust, ice or similar.
It should be blocked while moving downwards, the belt breakage switch is triggered.

Diagram 1 SECTIOLITE®door opening methods
5.2.3 Functioning with doors for people
As long as the door for people is opened, the door control function is out of service. If the door for people is
closed, the door lock sends the “door closed”signal to the control unit. The door control is enabled again and
the door can be opened with a control device, e.g. a button.
Every door for people is equipped with a upper door closer and a door lock.
Optionally, the door for people can be equipped with a panic bar. The door for people can be optionally
equipped with a bolt contact to connect a monitoring device.
Note!
The door for people is not suitable to be used as the only door on escape and exit routes.
