1 Preface
1.1 About this manual
1.1.1 Target groups
The target groups for this operating manual are:
the system operator for operation and instruction
the qualified operating personnel for operation
the trained maintenance personnel for maintenance
The target groups must be familiar with the system, have read and understood this operating manual and know
and heed the relevant safety regulations!
1.1.2 Reading the manual
Read through this manual carefully prior to working on the system and become familiar with the operation of
the door system. Strictly observe the content and safety notices contained in this operating manual for your
own safety and that of others, and in order to ensure a long operational life of the door system. Failure to do
so may lead to damage to the door system as well as personal injuries.
Also adhere to the local legal requirements and the latest state of technology.
The version of your door system may vary depending on:
special agreements specific to your order
installation situations
general conditions
Therefore, the description may differ from your door system in individual cases. Items that are not included in
every door system as a standard are labelled as optional.
1.1.3 Content of this manual
This manual should familiarise you with:
necessary safety measures prior to and while working on the system
the operating functions of the system
the approach to take if malfunctions occur in the system
maintenance work that can be carried out by operating personnel.
Description of system assembly is not part of this operating manual.

2 Safety
2.1 Intended use
The sliding door system is intended as a installation to pass through, primarily in the industrial sector and, for
example, at airports, airfields and similar facilities.
2.2 Improper use
2.3 Safety information for the system
The following safety notices are attached to the system, which must be strictly followed:
Warning! Danger in the case of improper use!
Improper use of the door system can lead to dangerous situations.
In its standard version, the system is not intended for the following uses:
Use in an environment at risk of explosions
Use in areas where fire protection regulations apply
Use of the motor to drive or control third party devices
Use in areas where children or unauthorised individuals have access to the operation

Use with accessories and replacement parts that are not inspected and approved by Butzbach
GmbH Industrietore
Use without or with non-working safety devices
Danger! Mortal danger due to electric shock!
When opening the control cabinet / the power supply box / the door control system, there is line voltage
present! Mortal danger!

Disconnect the control system from the electrical network (main switch) before you open the
control cabinet or the power supply box! Line voltage is present. Mortal danger!
Work on electrical components should only be performed by a qualified electrician.

When working on electrical components, the qualified electrician must adhere to the five rules of
safety (BGUV Regulation 3) and the relevant VDE regulations.

The system must be securely disconnected from the electrical network during all installation work!

2.4 Basic safety measures
Warning! Risk of crushing in the area of the building edges, the
building wall and the door leaves!
Risk of injury in the area of the door jambs, the supports and the walls!
Neither people nor objects may be located in between the door leaves.
Warning! Risk of crushing in the area of the building edges and the
door leaves!
Risk of hand injuries, e.g. by reaching into the area of the door jambs, the supports the walls and between
the door leaves!
No people may stand and no objects may be located in between the door leaves!
Danger! Mortal danger due to electrical shock!
Electrical connections that are made incorrectly or not in an expert manner can lead to death and severe
injuries! In addition, they can have the consequence of no longer being able to safely operate the system.
Work on electrical components should only be performed by a qualified electrician.
Danger! Mortal danger due to electric shock from residual voltage!
Residual voltage remains at the frequency convertor output in the control system for up to five minutes
after disconnecting the supply voltage! Mortal danger due to electric shock! There is no electrical isolation
at the output of the frequency convertor, i.e. there is voltage present to PE or ground! Mortal danger due
to electric shock!
The system must be securely disconnected from the electrical network during all
maintenance work!
Work on electrical components should only be performed by a qualified electrician.
Danger! Never disable safety devices!
Never disable safety devices or go around them.
Do not operate the system if the safety devices are damaged!
