User Manual EcoStream
Operation of a HRV unit
A HRV unit extracts used indoor air
from the home. In most cases, this air is
extracted from the toilet and bathroom.
In the winter, the air that is extracted
from the house is warmer than the
outside air. In a HRV unit, the heat from
this air is reused to heat the cold air that
is drawn in from the outside.
The heat exchange between the warm
air from the house and the cold air from
outside takes place in the cross-flow
heat exchanger.
A heat exchanger like this is constructed
in such a way that heat transfer between
the two air flows can take place, but the
air cannot mix with each other.
The result is that fresh outside air is
blown into the house, which is preheated
with the heat of the air that is drawn out
of the house.
Because air is both drawn in and
expelled from the house, there is no
need for ventilation grilles in the facade
and this is referred to as balance
ventilation.
The BUVA EcoStream is easy to
maintain. For the user, this is mainly
limited to changing the filters. The
product contains two air purification
filters, positioned under the hoods with
the word “filter” on them. When these
hoods are removed using the click
opener, the filters are visible and can
be removed by pulling on the tab of the
filters. Never turn on your EcoStream
without installing the filters.
Change the filters regularly (roughly
every six months). The filter notification
light on the EcoStream indicates
when the filters need replacing.
The EcoStream app also provides a
notification.
Please note: do not forget to reset the
filter-timer in the app after changing
the filters.
Maintenance for the user
Unplug this product
from the wall outlet
before servicing it.
