Before Assembling:
Before assembling your Buyers ladder rack it’s
important to read, understand, and follow all listed
instructions.
Note: There are two different assembly options,
depending on whether the ladder rack will be
mounted on a short or long bed truck. The
difference between the two is how the front half
of the rack is assembled. Detailed instructions
for both options have been provided. Failure
to choose the correct option for your bed size
will result in disassembling the ladder rack and
starting over. The rear half of the rack is universal,
and is assembled in one manner, regardless of
bed size.
Safety Instructions/Warnings:
• Your Buyers ladder rack is rated at 1,000 lbs. Do not
exceed this limit for any reason.
• All loads must be evenly balanced and distributed
over as many crossbars as possible.
• The removable rear crossbar must be attached and
pinned to the rack before cargo can be loaded and
secured. Do not carry cargo on the ladder rack with
the rear crossbar removed.
• Be sure that all hardware is securely tightened once
ladder rack is assembled and mounted to the truck.
• Check for loose, worn, or missing hardware before
each use. Tighten or replace hardware as needed.
Required Tools:
• Safety Glasses
• Gloves
• Adjustable Wrench
• Socket Wrench Set
• Hex Wrenches
• Rubber Mallet
• Tape Measure
Surface Finish Maintenance:
• Your Buyers ladder rack has a powder coat finish
and can be kept clean by using a soft sponge or cloth
with mild soap and water.

Joining Front and Back Half of Rack
1. With someone’s assistance, carefully slide the
front half and rear half of the ladder rack together as
shown. The rear siderails will nest inside of the front
siderails.
2. Assemble the siderail connection plates at the
connection point, on the driver and passenger side of
the ladder rack as shown. Fully tighten the hardware.
Note: If vehicle does not have an "over the rail"
bed liner or OEM plastic top rail, you may need to
insert a ½" thick solid shim under each mounting
foot (not included). Shims should be the same
length and width as each foot.
1. With someone’s assistance, carefully lift the ladder
rack into position on the trucks bed rails.
2. Make sure that the rear mounting feet are as close
to the rear corner of the bed rail as possible.
Vehicle Installation
3. Carefully slide the front legs and crossbar forward,
so that the front mounting feet are as close to the
front corner of the bed rail as possible.
Note: Make sure that there is adequate space,
between the truck cab and the ladder rack, to
tighten hardware.
4. Once the ladder rack is in the desired position, use
the “Mounting Bracket System” to secure the ladder
rack to the truck bed as shown. Fully tighten the
mounting bracket hardware. Once the ladder rack is
securely attached to the vehicle it can be aligned.

Aligning the Ladder Rack
1. Stand in front of the vehicle. Note the alignment of
the cab hoop in relation to the roof of the truck cab.
Have an assistant adjust the rack to the left or right
until the front hoop is centered over the truck cab. The
hardware that connects the mounting foot to the leg
can now be tightened.
2. Recheck alignment and adjust if necessary. All
hardware can now be fully tightened, starting with the
gusset points at the top of each leg.
