Pasture Meter Assembly Instructions (Autolift Version)
(Leaflet Pt.No.2400-1205 Issue 3, dated 01 November 2010)
DESCRIPTION
The -Dax pasture meter requires some assembly. This leaflet details the procedure for doing such assembly.
ASSEM LY
Unpack the contents of the pasture meter carton. While not completely necessary, assembly is easier if done on a
tabletop. arefully lift the main pasture meter frame and all other parts onto a tabletop.
• Lay the parts for each side of the unit on
the table either side of the frame as shown.

• Attach the stub arm pivots to each side of
the frame. Mount these to the frame using
the 132mm Pin through the stub arm pivot
and insert the 5x50mm split pin through the
axle bush.
• Insert the 95mm Pin through the stub axle
arm and the strut (ensure the pin goes
through the bottom most hole). Place a flat
M12 washer on each end of the pin and a
4x25mm Split Pin through the holes in
either end of the pin.
• Note: Do not attach wheels at this stage
• Assemble the top of the strut as shown in
the picture to the right (See last page for a
more detailed diagram).

• Locate the wheels <9200-8800> and place
on stub axles making sure that the valves
are to the outside.
• Place a spacer <1450-5000> on top of the
wheel followed by a washer <3310-6020>
and split pin <3220-0425>.
• Using a fibre hammer, lightly tap the wheel
hub cap on.
• onnect the supplied controller and test
the movement of the actuator - if it’s too
tight then loosen nuts a little.
The drawbar must be assembled to match the owners ATV or other vehicle. Please refer to the accompanying
Assembly and Operation manual. The cable protector must be mounted to the drawbar using the screws provided
and the actuator cable must be cable tied to the drawbar.
The unit when assembled is heavy (this is to maintain stability and strength when in use). Two people holding each
end of the pasture meter should lower the unit down from the tabletop.
OPERATION
1. onnect the controller to the battery (ensure correct polarity).
2. onnect the controller to the actuator cable and mount the controller to the ATV in a position handy to the
operator.
3. Travel to the intended paddock with the pasture meter in the raised position. Lower the unit by pressing the
switch to ‘lower’. This will lower the pasture meter to its measuring position (note: you do not need to hold
the switch down).
4. Once unit has been lowered, return switch to centre position
5. Once measuring is complete, raise the unit by pressing the switch to ‘raise’. This will raise the unit to its
travelling position.
6. Once unit is raised, return switch to centre position
Note: When the maximum shock load of the actuator is exceeded, it will slightly compress. This may
become noticeable when used on particularly rough ground or travelling for long periods in the raised
position. If travelling on rough ground, slow down to a safe speed and every minute or so check that the
pasture meter is still in the raised position. If travelling for long periods, check the pasture meter every 5
minutes or so to ensure it is still in the raised position. In either case, simply press the switch into the ‘raise’
position to bring the pasture meter back to its fully upright position.
WARNING: When the auto lift actuator is in use, keep fingers away from the hinges.
WARNING: Always return control switch to centre position once unit is
raised or lowered. Failure to do so will void warranty
