2.2 Product Description
The Cable Matters® 3 or 5 Port HDMI Switch connects up to 3 or 5 video
sources to a TV, monitor or projector with HDMI. Easily switch to the
desired source with the included remote.

 Connect 3 or 5 video sources such as a Blu-ray player, gaming console
or media streamer to an HDTV, monitor, or projector
 Switch between sources with the lightweight remote
 Ideal solution for an HDTV or monitor with only 1 HDMI port
 Switch can be concealed behind a TV with a 5 ft. IR cable for remote
 Supports 4K resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz and 3D pass-thru
 Supports common video resolution settings such as 2560x1600,
1920x1200, 1920x1080, 1280x720
 Supports most Dolby Digital, DTS, and 5.1 or 71. surround sound audio
 HDCP compliant with HDCP compatible equipment
 Optional USB to AC power cable boosts the video and audio signals
 Two 6 foot HDMI cables included with the Switch
3. CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 Installation Checklist
Please review these steps before installing the HDMI Switch.
 Power-off the source equipment and destination displays before
connecting the HDMI Switch or any cabling.
 The HDMI Switch must be located within 2.5 feet of a computer or TV
USB port or wall adapter to use the optional USB power cable.
 The IR cable must be located for line-of-sight to use the remote.
 The recommended maximum total distance for the input and output
HDMI cables is 50 feet including a max of 25 feet to the sources.
 For the best performance at the maximum distance, use high quality
22-28 AWG HDMI cables.
 4K displays must be connected with an HDMI cable rated for 4K.

3.4 Connection Instructions
1) Power down all source equipment and the output display
2) Connect the IR cable to the HDMI switch and locate it where it will
have line of sight of the remote
3) Connect all the video source input HDMI cables (DVD player, etc.)
4) Connect the display output HDMI cable (TV or display)
5) Power on all the equipment
6) Select the appropriate input channel (HDMI No.) on the TV or display
7) A blue LED will be lit when switched to an active input
8) Adjust the volume at the HDMI output display
9) Switch between video sources with the switch button or remote
10) If there is no signal or flickering connect the USB power cable to a
powered USB port or wall
charger.
3.3 Remote Installation
 Locate the IR cable face for line of sight with the remote
 Remove the plastic tab protecting the battery
 Push the release button on the left to pull out the battery tray

3.5 Troubleshooting Tips
 Verify that all cables are securely connected
 Verify that correct HDMI cable is connected to the Output (TV)
 The blue LED should be lit when switched to an active input
 Connect the optional USB power cable to a powered USB port or a wall
charger if there is no signal or flickering
 Verify that the input video and output displays have compatible video
resolutions (1080p, etc.)
 Verify that the input source is on the correct HDMI channel (TV)
 Connect equipment directly to test compatibility, if possible
 Test the HDMI cables by connecting directly with other equipment
 A ‘Not Supported’ error message may indicate that the equipment does
not support HDCP for content protected video
 4K displays require an HDMI cable rated for 4K
 If audio is not functioning, verify that the equipment supports audio and
check the audio input source and output display settings

This product is backed by a limited one-year warranty. In addition, Cable
Matters warrants its products against defects in materials and workman-
ship for the periods noted, following the initial date of purchase. During this
period, the products may be returned for repair, or replaced with equivalent
products at our discretion. The warranty covers parts and labor costs only.
Cable Matters does not warrant its products from defects or damages
arising from misuse, abuse, alteration, or normal wear and tear.
