General
Screws
Re-tighten all screws after the PowerHawk has been used for
the first time. This ensures trouble-free driving behaviour. It
is particularly important to ensure that the handlebar screws
are always tightened securely.
Air Pressure
The softer the ground, the lower should be the air pressure of
the tyres. A maximum air pressure of 0.5 bar is recommended
for the front tyre, whilst the
rear tyres should be inflated
with 0.2 to 0.3 bar. The
higher pressure of 0.5 bar is
only recommended for solid
ground.
However, a low air pressure
is indispensable for moving
in soft sand.
Ice Cream Freezer
Please be aware that the ice cream freezer is loaded onto the
PowerHawk without fixation. Thus, appropriate precautions
must be taken to avoid personal injuries.
Transport
Use a tensioning strap to secure the PowerHawk and ice cream
freezer before transporting them. While doing so, it is vital to
tighten the strap around both the freezer and the frame so that
transport damages can be excluded.
Software Version
The current firmware version of the control software is 1.01 as
of 25th May 2009.

3
Parasol Holders
The holders equipped with black
rubber rings, situated on the left and
right hand side on the rear of the
vehicle as well as in the front
between the waste bins, are
perfectly suited for fastening
parasols and price boards. In order
to fix the parasol inside the holder,
simply slide it into the tube from
above. It is vital to twist the parasol
tube while inserting it.
If it is just pushed into the tube, the
retainer rings of the parasol holders
may get damaged.
Claxon
Squeeze the black ball at the end of the claxon to generate a
funny noise.

Technology and Drive
Steering Adjustment
Before using the
PowerHawk for the first
time, it is necessary to
adjust the operating
clearance of the steering
cables. In order to do so,
you have to adjust the
length of the shroud
turnbuckles (see photo A).
This adjustment must be
made with the PowerHawk
fully loaded. Be sure that
the steering cables (see
photo B) are tensioned properly so that they show the correct
clearance with respect to the deflection eyelets.
Since the PowerHawk’s standard
scope of delivery does not
include the freezer, load or
additional items, there can only
be a rough adjustment of the
steering cables upon delivery.
That is why it is imperative for
the user to adjust the steering
cables as described in this
section, thus ensuring the
PowerHawk’s individual customisation to the specific task.
Apart from that, we recommend checking this adjustment from
time to time in order to ensure trouble-free operation.
Excessive tension in the steering cables will inevitably result in
damages to the area of the deflection eyelets.
Required tools: pliers, 8mm spanner.

5
On/Off Switch
Actuate the yellow rotary switch below the red, lockable
protective cover to make the PowerHawk ready for operation.
Keep in mind that the standard
equipment of the PowerHawk includes
a sleep timer, i.e. if 30 seconds pass
without the unit being moved, it will
switch off automatically. This saves
energy and avoids accidents by
unintentional actuation of the throttle
grip. To restart the unit, the switch
must first be set to "0" and then to
"1".
Furthermore, we recommend locking
the red protective cover for the
respective duration of the ice cream
sale so that unauthorised persons do
not have any possibility to move the PowerHawk.
Charging the Batteries
Use the black XLR connector to charge the PowerHawk’s
batteries. It is also located below the red cover.
Only use the included LEAB chAMP II charger that should be
able to charge nearly exhausted batteries overnight. For
further information please refer to the annex.
Batteries
The batteries and/or the PowerHawk must always be stored in a
cool place. Apart from that, we recommend charging the
batteries once a month to increase their service life. Make sure
that the batteries and/or the PowerHawk are moved regularly in
order to exclude battery damages.
Accelerating
On the right side of the steering fork is a throttle grip allowing
for continuous control of the PowerHawk’s acceleration.Just
like a motorbike, the unit is accelerated by turning the handle
towards you.
Driving Forward/Reversing
The big red lever on the left side of the steering fork controls
the direction of travel. Use this lever in combination with the

6
throttle grip to move the
vehicle. If the lever is not
actuated, the PowerHawk drives
forward. The PowerHawk
reverses by pushing down the
lever.
Driving Behaviour
In order to prevent accidents,
the reverse speed of the
PowerHawk is limited by default.
However, all driving parameters can be customised so that the
driving behaviour can be ideally adapted to fit the user’s needs.
Brake
The PowerHawk is equipped with an electromagnetic braking
system. Whenever the throttle grip is in neutral position, the
PowerHawk will stop
safely. The unit is
prevented from rolling
away, even on steep
inclines. On the lower
underside of the unit is a
rocker switch that can be
used to deactivate the
automatic brake. In order
to do so, just tilt the
switch downwards. When
deactivating the brake, the electronics are bypassed as well.
Thus, the PowerHawk can be pushed manually until the switch
is tilted back to its original position (upper position). The
steering remains functional irrespective of the switch position.
Power Supply of the Freezer
The plug supplying the freezer
with power is located near the
left drive wheel between the
battery box and the freezer.
After completion of the cooling
process, we recommend storing
the plug coiled up in the same
space.

7
Easy Flag
It is imperative to remove the Easy Flag from the PowerHawk
as soon as strong wind turns it transverse to the direction of
travel. Especially with children nearby, who are often less
visible, the user is obliged to make sure that the way in front of
the vehicle is always clear in order to avoid personal injuries.
