1 Introduction
This do ument talks about details of Calixto’s Telit xE910 family based modems.
Telit offers its ustomers a form fa tor and family on ept. Part of this on ept is the xE910 family of
wireless modules featuring a single, ompa t form fa tor that is inter hangeable on any regional ellular
network, delivering ubiquitous, ost-effe tive overage for M2M appli ations and onsumer ele troni s
devi es worldwide.
Based on a Land-Grid-Array (LGA) form fa tor with a footprint of just 795mm2 and a total size of 28.2 x
28.2 x 2.2mm, the Telit xE910 family's uniform design gives ustomers the ability to hoose between global
or regional ellular te hnologies depending upon the lo ation and requirements of a spe ifi appli ation
for optimum data rates and module osts.
Supporting GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSPA+ and CDMA/EV-DO ellular te hnologies, the xE910 family also allows
appli ations to be easily upgraded, su h as when migrating from 2G to 3.5G, while maintaining the ore
design of an appli ation or devi e throughout its life y le. This allows M2M developers and devi e
manufa turers to easily ustomize their appli ations by enabling simple module integration and upgrades.
Calixto xE910 modems are optimum, ready to use solution for ustomers of Ma hine to Ma hine (M2M)
appli ations. This module is based on Telit xE910 family of modules. Calixto provides optional battery
harging feature and GPS support for sele ted modules.
These modems an also be used as ideal evaluation platform to evaluate xE910 modules from Telit.
Some key appli ation areas in lude:
• Industrial M2M ommuni ations
• Remote Monitoring and Control
• Point of Sale Terminals
• Metering
• Warehousing
• Logisti s and Freight Management
.Note: There is optional rugged, yet lightweight aluminum en losure available for this modem.

5 Hardware Description
5 1 Antenna
Antenna onne tor allows transmission of radio frequen y (RF) signals between the modem and an external
ustomer-supplied antenna. Calixto provides option one of the two antenna onne tors. One is uFL and other
one is 50ΩFME male oaxial ja k. As an option Calixto provides WIP Antenna with 50ΩFME male oaxial ja k
onne tor.
For modules with GPS fun tionality, there is a provision for uFL and SMA onne tor.
5 2 Power Jack
The power Ja k supported is 2mm DC power ja k with lo king option. The figure below shows the power ja k
used in the modem.
5 3 LED Indications
There are two LEDs in the xE910 modem. The LED1 (at D3) is POWER indi ator LED The LED1 (at D8) is
MODULE status LED. For CST-xE910-xx- BC, there is an additional Charging Indi ator LED (D4).
5 4 Battery connector
CST-xE910-MODEM-BC modem has additional battery onne tor. This is a 2 pin RELIMATE onne tor (lo ation
