MFD28/32 Gen2
Be excited, here is your CANchecked display.
Developed with enthusiasm and passion, your MFD28/32 Gen2 is a small device, that gives
you full access to your vehicle data. Please read this Quickstart Guide in its en rety. For more
detailed instruc ons, please refer to the manual.
Installa on instruc ons

Connec on
If you have the display with the vehicle-speci c connec on kit, please follow the installa on
instruc ons.
There are four connec on variants:
Variant 1 is OBD and gets igni on plus via pin 1 of the port (BMW and VAG).
Variant 2 is OBD and can be recognised by the separate red wire.
This must be connected to 12v switched (terminal15) in the fuse box
using the fuse adapter.
Variant 3 uses the vehicle-speci c connec on cable (e.g. BMW).
Variant 4 uses the accessory pack. Please follow the wiring diagram below.
Use a 2A fuse for the power supply (pin A5). The ground conects to A1.
Connect Can High to pin B2 and Can Low to pin B3. To connect other
accessories, see our manual.

Ini al setup of the display
Your display starts with the TRI/TRX selec on.
If this is not the case swipe your display down-
wards and go to "Setup", "Can Bus" and then
"TRI/TRX File".
Select the TRI/TRX  le that matches your motor/
control unit and then press the "Load  le" bu on.
The nomenclature of the TRI/TRX  le is as follows:
X-ABC. The X stands for the protocol (depending
on the  rmware) and ABC for the shortened engine
code or -type.
Examples:
If your engine is a CDLA, select T-CDL.TRX. If you have a BMW S55,
then select B-S55.TRX.
If your engine is not in the list, you can request TRI/TRX  les via the form
behind this QR Code. If available, you can a ach pictures of the "scan
motor" code and "support data" to speed up the process. Our team will
generate the appropriate  le within 1-3 working days.
A er selec ng "Setup" "Can Bus", check your connec on. If your display is
successfully connected to the bus, you will see "Can ok" in green at the top right. If the If the
connec on is faulty, you will see "no Can" in red.
For later setup, please connect the USB cable and lay it to an easily accessible place.

You can choose

1) Swipe le to go to the next page.
2) Swipe right to go to the previous page.
3) Swipe down to access "Setup" and "DTC" (not on all protocols available).
4) Swipe up to access the log bu on, the brightness slider and the custom bu on.
TRI/TRX

The setup
Once you have swiped down from the top of your display and pressed "Setup", you will reach
the sub-items described below. Depending on the acve protocol some menu funcons are
locked ( ).
Popup Switching the pop-up window on and o when limit values are
exceeded or undershot by means of a large, unmissable warning on
the display. ATTENTION: Must be congured in advance in the Display-
SetupSoware (DSS) for each sensor. The duraon can be congured
by tapping on the me.
Can Bus
Tap this menu to select the TRX/TRI le or to make Can Bus sengs.
If you have purchased a vehicle-specic display, everything is already
pre-congured.
Sensor Init Important sensors for operang the display: RPM → RPM; Speed →
Speed; Gear → Gear/GearCalc; Gear Mode → Gear Mode (automac
only) all others please set to N/A
Changes get applied aer a gauge restart.
License Here you will nd the serial number, the soware version and the
opon of addional funcons.
Gears Conguraon of gear calculaon: Your display can calculate the current
gear from rpm and speed. For each gear the rao must be entered or
determined and entered during driving operaon. Please ensure that
the "Sensor Init" is correct.
Splash Screen Duraon of the start screen. When completely deacvated, your
display is ready for use in less than one second.
Start Page The number indicates the page that is displayed rst aer start-up.
Either 1-10 or "last used" - i.e. the page that was last used when the
display was turned o.
Shi Light Tap to change the colors or use the keypad to change the rev limit.
If you use the external shi light, you can customize it here.
Dim Sensivity Only for UDS rmware and BMW rmware: the higher the number,
the more the display is dimmed together with your speedometer. If you
see the yellow triangle with exclamaon mark here, this value is not
supported by your speedometer. However, you can use the brightness
slider (swipe the screen upwards during normal operaon).
Pages Here you will nd the "Widget Packs" for the corresponding number of
cylinders, you can hide unnecessary pages, switch the eding of pages
on and o and change the orientaon of the user interface of your
display.
Custom Buon Here you can dene the buon in the lower menu (swipe screen
upwards).

Customiza on
Customizing your display is possible both on the display itself and via the DSS.
If you want to change the sensors on the display without using the computer, you need to
unlock the corresponding page for edi ng. To do this, you must  rst go to "Setup" → "Pages"
to unlock the page to be edited. You can then select the sensor assigned to the widget as
well as the min- and max- values by clicking on it. Please note that o en there are several
widgets on top of each other. By clicking on them several  mes you can access the di erent
levels and familiarize yourself with the layout of the page.
If you want to change the sensors and arrangements of your display
on the computer, you need the DSS.
With the DSS you can also change the names of the sensors. You can
download the DSS by following this QR-Code. The DSS is available for
Mac and Windows.

DSS

Demo Mode Ac vates the Demo Mode. All values are moved between minimum
and maximum. This op on is inac ve a er restart.
Too Soon Junior Are you living your life a quarter mile at a  me? Ac vate this op on,
go o the menu and push the accelerator all the way to the  oor for a
li le hidden fun. This only appears once and is then inac ve again.
Night Mode Welcome to the dark side.
Units Here you can switch between metric and imperial units for the di erent
sensor types.
