Corporate reproduction departments
(CRDs) turn to the CLC 3900+
because it is fast, easy to use, and
offers finishing options that produce
professional-looking presentations,
proposals, and booklets.
Graphics firms and other design
centers rely on the CLC 3900+ because
it delivers precise, vibrant color output.
It produces brilliant colors accurately
and consistently. The CLC 3900+
is the ideal output device for high-
end designs, advertisements, or any
color-sensitive presentations.
Print-for-pay centers use the
CLC 3900+ to broaden their
capabilities while maintaining
image quality. With this one
device, they can produce high-
quality output, print on a wide
range of stocks, and connect to
virtually any network.
The Canon CLC 3900+
versatility and value combined.
Canon’s CLC devices are known throughout the world for delivering unparalleled color—quickly and easily. The
CLC 3900+ continues the legacy. It produces unrivalled color, text, and photographic images at a speed of 39 pages
per minute. And it prints Auto Duplex projects on stocks up to 163gsm (90 lb. Index/60 lb. Cover) directly from the
Paper Deck. Most important, it does so affordably. The CLC 3900+ is the best value in the market—and the ideal
output device for any entry-level production environment.
The brilliance of Canon technology.
The CLC 3900+ is loaded with all the technology you’ve come to expect from Canon.
Consider that it uses Canon’s Finer, Brighter Toner (FB-Toner) and advanced charging
system. Canon’s FB-Toner particles are finer, and smaller, than previous toner
particles. Yet Canon has found a way to balance small particle size with consistency,
so charged toner particles are distributed on the drum more precisely and evenly.
As a result, color gradations are smoother, images are sharper, and the level of detail
is outstanding. With FB-Toner, the CLC 3900+ yields a wider range of colors. And because
it maintains proper toner density, the CLC 3900+ produces every color on the page
accurately and consistently.
The CLC 3900+ is equipped with Canon’s Automatic Image Refinement technology, so it is able to boost text and
graphics to the visual equivalence of 800 x 400 dpi. Canon has also included a Gradation Auto Adjust feature that allows
you to calibrate the machine quickly and easily. Coupled with Canon’s FB-Toner, these technologies yield
unparalleled colors, text, and images.
Prepared for anything.
Canon has designed the CLC 3900+ to handle a wide array of projects, including
high-volume output and quick-turnaround assignments. This versatile device
outputs pages at the rapid rate of 39 pages per minute, and has a stackless duplex
feature for the production of unlimited sets. The CLC 3900+ prints on a wide variety
of paper stocks, transparencies, or any Canon-approved media (including brochure
media and coated covers) and it improves front/back registration via an optional
alignment tray that attaches to the stack bypass.
Unlike previous color output devices, the CLC 3900+ will print Auto Duplex projects on
stocks up to 163gsm through the Paper Deck. And its image area is large enough to
produce 11" x 17" full-bleed images—complete with crop marks—on 12" x 18" paper.
The CLC 3900+ has a letter paper deck that holds up to 4,000 sheets of 20 lb. Bond,
and a user-adjustable oversized paper deck that holds 2,000 sheets of 8-1/2" x 11",
11" x 17", or 12" x 18" paper.
Willing to finish.
With the CLC 3900+, users can choose from a variety of finishing options to produce everything from brochures and
booklets to newsletters and presentations.
Users can output multipage document sets with Canon’s 20-bin
Stapler Sorter. It offers three different stapling positions, and will
staple, sort, and cascade complete sets into all 20 bins (with a capac-
ity of up to 30 sheets per bin when cascading, and up to 50 sheets
per bin when sorting). It also has a non-sort tray on top, which holds
up to 250 sheets of additional output.
The CLC 3900+ also works with Canon’s optional Nagel Finisher
to create professional-quality booklets with up to 64 images or
16 sheets. By using one of Canon’s ColorPASS Servers or
T/R Systems™MicroPress®for Canon, you can turn the Nagel
Finisher into a complete solution. This Finisher sorts, trims, and
stacks output, and will saddle-stitch booklets in a variety of paper
stocks. If you choose, you can also operate the Nagel Finisher
in off-line mode to create booklets with media from other devices.
High-volume production centers can choose the CLC 3900+ with Canon’s optional
High-capacity Stacker. The Stacker attaches to the paper output path and gives users
the option of stacking up to 2,500 sheets.

Ready to connect.
Over 90% of CLC devices sold are connected with a Raster Image
Processor (RIP), allowing them to address a number of desktop
publishing applications, like printing and scanning. Armed with one of
Canon’s exclusive ColorPASS Servers, the CLC 3900+ is your
complete print-on-demand networked solution.
The CLC 3900+ performs brilliantly with either of Canon’s two new
ColorPASS Servers (the ColorPASS-Z4600 or the ColorPASS-Z5100), or
T/R Systems MicroPress for Canon.
Canon’s ColorPASS Servers simplify job management because they
include Command WorkStation™4, which makes it easy to track, edit, and
merge any number of jobs.
Canon’s new ColorPASS Servers are all-inclusive. They provide access to ColorWise®3, the
comprehensive color management software package that offers out-of-the-box,
high-quality color. In a color-critical environment, you’ll want to connect the
CLC 3900+ to the ColorPASS-Z5100 in order to employ Canon’s optional Graphic Arts
Feature Set. It includes features like Spot-On,™to
reproduce PMS colors accurately and consistently;
Multiple Plate Separations, for complex color
breakdowns; and, Soft Proofing, to accurately
preview color assignments.
The ColorPASS-Z4600 and ColorPASS-Z5100 Servers
include NetWise™3 for easy network integration
and Fiery®Remote Scan 4 for the scanning of hard-
copy originals.
Canon’s servers also include T/R Systems
MicroPress technology for the clustering of output
devices. With MicroPress for Canon, multiple black-and-white and color output devices are
connected to one controller, making both job-splitting and outputting of multiple
projects a breeze. MicroPress for Canon also offers advanced job management
capabilities, like exporting job information to third-party billing tools, or previewing
new jobs prior to printing. And if you manage an in-plant facility, a corporate reproduction
department, or a prepress operation, you’ll find that MicroPress Technology has a
number of other features designed to boost your capability and productivity.
The CLC 3900+
the word is value.
Canon’s CLC 3900+ has production capabilities that reach beyond previous CLC devices,
yet is affordable enough to join any entry-level production environment. It’s an ideal way for
print-for-pay centers, corporate reproduction departments, and graphics environments to
boost their productivity. And when coupled with Canon’s new ColorPASS-Z4600,
ColorPASS-Z5100, or T/R Systems MicroPress for Canon, it becomes part of a networked
solution that enhances output and streamlines workflow.
