INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing the Canon Zoom Remote Controller ZR-2000. To get the
most
out
of
your
ZR-2000,
we
recommend
that
you read
these
instructions
thoroughly and keep them
in
a safe place for future reference.
When
the remote
controller
is
connected
to
the
LANC
4!
terminal
of a
Canon
camcorder, it
is
possible to control functions such as the start and stop of recording,
the zoom and the focus functions while reviewing the picture on the local display
without touching the camcorder. This is particularly useful while the camcorder is
mounted
on
a tripod and you want to ensure maximum stability of a shot.

®ZOOM SPEED dial
Rotate the dial to set the desired zoom speed.
• Y]
(variable): The zoom speed depends on the way you operate the zoom lever.
Press lightly for a slower zoom or press firmly for a quicker zoom.
• 1 - 16: Fixed zoom speed positions from 1 (slowest zoom speed) to 16 (fastest
zoom speed).

Keep
the
button
pressed
for
more
than
2
seconds
to
partially
turn
off
the
camcorder's power and enter the Power Save mode.
• Press again to turn the camcorder back on.

ON
SCREEN button
• Camera mode: Press the button to hide the displays that appear
on
a monitor or
TV screen when you do not need them. Press again to reactivate the displays.
• VCR mode: Press the button to show the on-screen displays during playback.
Press again to hide the displays.

PUSH AF button
While the
camcorder
is in manual focus
mode
(and the POSITION
PRESET
switch
is
set to OFF) press the button to momentarily override the manual focus.
The autofocus will be activated as long as you keep the button pressed down.

FOCUS selector
Set the
camcorder
's focusing mode to manual focus (MF) or autofocus (AF).
While the camcorder is
in
manual focus mode, focus the
camcorder
using the
FOCUS/AE SHIFT dial
on
the side of the ZR-2000.

Set the operating function of the FOCUS/AE SHIFT dial
on
side of the ZR-2000.

Attaching the ZR-2000 to a tripod
1.
Unscrew and remove the tripod fitting.
2.
Affix to the tripod fitting the included non-slip rubber layer.
• This will prevent the ZR-2000 sliding on the panning handle.
3.
Position the tripod fitting on the panning handle and secure
it
in
place.
3.Attaching the optional Color Viewfinder Unit FU-2000
You can attach to the ZR-2000 the optional Color Viewfinder Unit FU-2000.
1.
Remove the protection cover from the FU-2000.
2.
Fit the FU-2000 into the attachment section of the remote controller.
3.
Tuck the remote controller's cable into the groove on the bottom part of the FU-
2000 and turn the stopper to fix the cable in place.
• Do not attempt to disassemble
or
modify this unit.
• Do not subject this unit to strong vibrations or shocks.
• Do not leave the unit
in
direct sunlight, near heat radiating objects, inside
a hot car, or
in
other hot places, as this may deform or discolor the unit.
• Do not insert the plug into
any
jack
or
terminal
other
than the LANC
terminal of the camcorder.
• Keep the connection plug clean at all times.
This
device
complies
with Part 15 of the
FCC
Rules.

is
subject

Canon U.S.A.• Inc. (Canon U.S.A.) in the United States with respect to the Canon
Consumer Digital Video Products (collectively the "Products")', when purchased and used

This limited warranty is only effective
upon
presentation

your
Bill
of
Sale

purchase. The Products are
warranted under normal use, against defective materials
or
workmanship as follows:
Parts: Defective parts will be exchanged for new parts
or
comparable rebuilt parts for a period
of
one
(1)
year from the date of
original purchase.
Labor: For a period of one
(1}
year from the date
of
original purchase. labor will be provided free
of
charge
by
our factory service
centers
or
designated service facilities located
in
the United States.
When returning Products under this warranty, you must pre-pay the shipping charges, and you must enclose the Bill of Sale
or
other proof
of
purchase with a complete explanation of the problem. During the one
(1)
year warranty period, repairs will be made
and the Products will be return-shipped
to
you free
of
charge. For repairs after the warranty period is over, you will be given
an estimate of the cost
of
repair and
an
opportunity to approve or disapprove of the repair expense before it
is
incurred. If you
approve. repairs will be made and the Products will be return-shipped
to
you. (shipping charges apply}. If you disapprove, we will
return-ship the Products at no charge to you.

PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY
The limited warranty set forth below
is
given
by
Canon Canada Inc. ("Canon Canada") with respect
to
Canon Consumer
Digital Video Products (the "Products") purchased
in
Canada. This limited warranty
is
only effective upon presentation
of a bill of sale or other proof of purchase for these Products
to
a Canon Service Facility when repairs
are
required. The
Products
are
warranted under normal use, against defective materials or workmanship
as
follows:
Parts: Defective parts will be exchanged for new parts
or,
at Canon Canada's option, comparable rebuilt parts for a
period of one
(1)
year from the date
of
original purchase,
Labour: For a period
of
one
(1)
year from the date of original purchase, labour will be provided free of charge by our
Canon Service Facilities
in
Canada. This limited warranty covers
all
defects except where:
(a)
The loss ordamage
to
the products results from:
i)
accident, natural disaster, mishandling, abuse, neglect, unauthorized products modification or failure
to
follow
instructions contained
in
the instruction manual;
ii)
the use of accessories, attachments, products, supplies, parts or devices with the Products that do not
