Wide Variety of Applications
The ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners are ideal for capturing and sharing
documents in small and medium-size businesses and large enterprises
alike. Legal, financial, education, government, healthcare, and other sectors
can benefit from their seamless integration into existing business processes
and workflows. Scanned documents can easily be used for network
distribution, as well as in applications such as Enterprise Content
Management (ECM), e-mail, fax server, and more. These devices are
ideal as dedicated document scanners or as complements to Canon
imageRUNNER®ADVANCE systems running ShareScan for MEAP®
in heterogeneous environments.
Easy To Deploy, Manage, and Use
The ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners are scalable solutions that simply plug
directly into any Ethernet network, eliminating the requirement for separate
dedicated computers. System administrators can remotely manage and
configure multiple scanners—even a mixed deployment, including
ShareScan-enabled imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems—from a central
location using the ShareScan Administration Console. The scanners also
include a color touch-screen that lets users easily select scanning functions
and preview digitized documents. And the ShareScan user interface is intui-
tive, helping to simplify device usage and improve workflow efficiencies.
Efficient, Seamless Integration
The ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners are compatible with both Microsoft®
and Novell®infrastructures and can use existing network address books,
including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and LDAP, and databases such
as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle®. A wide variety of optional
Business Application Connectors allows users to send scanned documents
directly into business applications. With the ShareScan architecture, the
ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners broaden the range of sending options for
information sharing.

State-of-the-Art Image Capture
Capable of single-pass duplex scanning at up to 27 ppm, the ScanFront
300e/300eP scanners capture high-quality color, grayscale, and black-and-
white images. The page separation mechanism and slant-path document
feeding feature ensure smooth and reliable handling of different types
of documents, including plastic ID cards and long documents. And the
compact design with built-in touch-screen maximizes desk space, making
it perfect for small spaces.
Enhanced Security
The ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners support native integration to Microsoft
Active Directory and Novell eDirectory for log-in authentication to help
prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, the scanners can create audit
trails, including activity logging and document tracking, as well as offer
a Fingerprint Reader for device-level user authentication.
Environment in Mind
The ScanFront 300e/300eP scanners are part of Canon’s Generation Green
program. They also meet ENERGY STAR®guidelines for energy efficiency
and comply with the EU RoHS and WEEE directives for the reduction of
hazardous substances and waste products.
