RoHs
Carat steunt de inspanningen van de Europese Unie om schadelijke
chemische producten uit de elektronica van de consument te verwijderen.
Overeenstemmend met Richtlijn 2002/95/EG van het Europees Parlement en
de Raad van de Europese Unie betreffende de beperking van het gebruik van
bepaalde gevaarlijke substanties in elektrisch en elektronisch materiaal
(RoHS), zal Carat volledig conforme producten aanbieden in alle regio’s waar
de richtlijn door de termijn van 1 juli 2006 wordt opgelegd.
1. PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID
Lees voor het gebruik van deze machine de bedienings-
en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Voor uw veiligheid dient u
deze voorschriften nauwkeurig op te volgen.
Gebruik de volgende persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen tijdens het gebruik
van dit verwisselbaar uitrustingsstuk in combinatie met een elektrische
gereedschap.

In verband met ononderbroken productontwikkeling en technische
verbeteringen behouden wij ons het recht voor bovenstaande technische
gegevens te wijzigen zonder voorafgaande kennisgeving.
Doeleinden van gebruik
Dit verwisselbare uitrustingsstuk is ontwikkeld om gemonteerd te worden op
verschillende slijpmachines, zie hiervoor het gedeelte “Technische
Gegevens”.
Het samengestelde elektrische gereedschap is bestemd (in combinatie met
een zuiger van stofklasse M) voor het doorslijpen van overwegend minerale
materialen zoals gewapend beton, metselwerk en bestrating, zonder gebruik
van water.
Stroomvoorziening
Neem de gebruiksaanwijzing van de slijpmachine in acht. De slijpmachine
mag alleen worden aangesloten op een stroombron van hetzelfde voltage als
aangegeven op de typeplaat.
Stofafzuiging
Het stof dat bij het werken (het slijpen van mineralen), vrijkomt is schadelijk
voor de gezondheid. Aanraking of inademing van stof kan leiden tot
allergische reacties en/of ziekten aan de luchtwegen van de gebruiker of
personen die zich in de omgeving bevinden.
Om een hoge graad van stofafzuiging te bereiken, gebruikt u een zuiger
van stofklasse M geschikt voor mineraalstof in combinatie met dit
elektrische gereedschap.
Zorg voor een goede ventilatie van de werkplek.
Er wordt geadviseerd om een stofmasker met filterklasse FFP2 te dragen.
Neem de in uw land geldende voorschriften voor de te bewerken materialen
in acht.
Neem de volgende aanwijzingen in acht om de tijdens de werkzaamheden
optredende stofemissies te verminderen.
Gebruik uitsluitend door Carat geadviseerde combinaties van slijpmachine
met gemonteerde bescherm- en afzuigkap en zuiger van stofklasse M.
Andere combinaties kunnen leiden tot een slechtere opname en
afscheiding van stof.
Neem de gebruiksaanwijzing van de zuiger voor het onderhoud en de
reiniging van de zuiger inclusief de filters in acht. Maak de
stofverzamelreservoirs onmiddellijk leeg wanneer deze vol zijn. Reinig de
filters van de zuiger regelmatig en zet de filters altijd volledig in de zuiger.
Gebruik alleen de door Carat voorziene afzuigslangen. Manipuleer de
afzuigslang niet. Als er brokken steen in de afzuigslang terechtkomen, dient
u de werkzaamheden te onderbreken en de afzuigslang onmiddellijk te
reinigen. Voorkom knikken van de afzuigslang.
Gebruik de slijpmachine uitsluitend volgens de voorschriften.
Gebruik alleen niet-beschadigde en scherpe diamantslijpschijven. Een
duidelijk minder wordende werksnelheid is een teken van versleten
diamantslijpschijven.
Neem de algemene eisen aan werkplekken op bouwplaatsen in acht.
Zorg voor een goede ventilatie.
Zorg ervoor dat er geen obstakels in de werkomgeving zijn. Bij lange
sleuven moet de zuiger zonder belemmeringen kunnen worden
meegevoerd respectievelijk op tijd worden meegevoerd.
Draag een gehoorbescherming, stofbril, stofmasker en indien nodig
handschoenen. Gebruik als stofmasker minstens een deeltjesfilterend
halfgezichtsmasker van klasse FFP 2.
Gebruik voor het schoonmaken van de werkomgeving een geschikte
zuiger. Wervel neergedaald stof niet op door te vegen.
Geluidsniveau
Raadpleeg de handleiding van de slijpmachine, waarop het verwisselbare
uitrustingsstuk is gemonteerd, voor het geluidsdrukniveau en het
geluidsvermogenniveau.
DRAAG GEHOORBESCHERMING!
Vibratie
Raadpleeg de handleiding van de slijpmachine, waarop het verwisselbare
uitrustingsstuk is gemonteerd, voor trillingsemissiewaarden.
Het aangegeven trillingsniveau vertegenwoordigd de voornaamste
toepassingen van het elektrische gereedschap. Als echter het elektrische
gereedschap wordt gebruikt voor andere toepassingen, met een afwijkende
diamantslijpschijf of onvoldoende onderhoud, kan het trillingsniveau
afwijken. Dit kan de trillingsbelasting gedurende de gehele arbeidsperiode
duidelijk verhogen. Voor een nauwkeurige schatting van de trillingsbelasting
moet ook rekening worden gehouden met de tijd waarin het gereedschap
uitgeschakeld is, of waarin het gereedschap wel loopt, maar niet werkelijk
wordt gebruikt. Dit kan de trillingsbelasting gedurende de gehele
arbeidsperiode duidelijk verminderen.

Omgeving
Gebruik dit elektrische gereedschap niet in een gevaarlijke omgeving.
Gebruik het niet in een natte of vochtige omgeving, zoals in de regen. Let
erop dat de werkplek droog is.
Pas op (bij het bewerken van vloeren, wanden en plafonds) voor verborgen
stroom-, gas- en waterleidingen. Controleer het werkgebied nauwkeurig met
bijvoorbeeld een leidingdetector.
Het niet opvolgen van deze instructies kan een elektrische schok, brand en/of
ernstig letsel tot gevolg hebben.

3. MONTAGEINSTRUCTIES
Trek altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact vóór werkzaamheden aan het
elektrische gereedschap!
Voor het inzetten en wisselen van een diamantslijpschijf wordt het dragen
van werkhandschoenen geadviseerd.
Diamantslijpschijven worden tijdens de werkzaamheden zeer heet. Raak
deze niet aan voordat ze zijn afgekoeld.
Diamantslijpschijf
Het samengestelde elektrische gereedschap is niet geschikt om gebruikt te
worden in combinatie met andere slijpschijven dan een diamantslijpschijf. De
afscherming biedt onvoldoende bescherming voor schijven anders dan een
diamantslijpschijf.
Let op de afmetingen van de diamantslijpschijf. De diameter van het asgat
moet bij de opnameflens passen. Het asgat van de diamantslijpschijf mag
niet groter worden gemaakt. Gebruik geen adapters of reduceerstukken.
Het toegestane toerental van de gebruikte diamantslijpschijf moet minstens
zo hoog zijn als op het toerental vermeld op de typeplaat van de toegepaste
slijpmachine.
Gebruik altijd de juiste diamantslijpschijf, een type dat is afgestemd op het te
slijpen materiaal. Wij adviseren diamantslijpschijven van het merk Carat.
Neem de gebruiksaanwijzing van de diamantslijpschijf in acht.
Zorg dat de diamantslijpschijf in de juiste richting draait. Let erop dat de
richting van de pijl van de diamantslijpschijf correspondeert met de richting
van de pijl op de machine.
Monteren van het verwisselbare uitrustingsstuk
De bescherm- en afzuigkap wordt geleverd met 5 paar montageringen en is
geschikt om gemonteerd te worden op verschillende slijpmachines, zie
hiervoor het gedeelte “Technische gegevens”.
Gebruik nooit montageringen die niet geschikt zijn voor de slijpmachine die
gebruikt wordt. Per paar montageringen staat aangegeven voor welke
slijpmachine deze geschikt zijn. Op het ene schaaldeel staat de merknaam en
een uniek nummer, op het andere schaaldeel staat alleen het unieke nummer.
De nummering van de diverse onderdelen is terug te vinden op pagina 2 van
deze handleiding. De stappen verwijzen naar de afbeeldingen vanaf pagina 3.
(1) Verwijder de originele beschermkap, gemonteerd op het elektrische
gereedschap. Raadpleeg de instructies in de handleiding van het elektrische
gereedschap waarop het verwisselbare uitrustingstuk wordt gemonteerd.
(2) Verwijder de spanmoer [8] en opnameflens [11] van het elektrische
gereedschap waarop dit verwisselbare uitrustingsstuk gemonteerd zal
worden.
(2A & 2B) Indien er gebruik wordt gemaakt van een slijpmachine van het
merk Makita in combinatie met een DustCatch 230 afscherming, moeten
de vier bouten van de vertragingsbak gedemonteerd worden. Deze worden
vervangen door de vier meegeleverde bouten FBB616.
(3 & 4) Klem de twee schaaldelen [1] van één paar montageringen rond de
flens van de slijpmachine en draai eventueel (niet bij gebruik van een
slijpmachine van Metabo) de twee schroeven [2] hierin vast. Let hierbij op
dat de montageringen maar op één manier passen, de tekstzijde moet van
het elektrische gereedschap af wijzen.
(5) Draai de dieptevergrendeling [6] los.
(6) Draai de drie boutschroeven die het deksel [7] van de bescherm- en
afzuigkap [3] afsluiten met behulp van een schroevendraaier los. Verwijder
het deksel van de bescherm- en afzuigkap.
(7) Monteer de bescherm- en afzuigkap rond de montageringen en draai
de vier schroeven [4] hierin vast.
(8) Monteer de bij het elektrische gereedschap meegeleverde extra
handgreep [17], parallel aan de diamantslijpschijf, zoals afgebeeld.
Monteren van de diamantslijpschijf
Voor het wisselen van de diamantslijpschijf moet de bescherm- en afzuigkap
opengeklapt worden. Plaats het elektrische gereedschap op een vaste
ondergrond.
Reinig de opnameflens, afstandsring en spanmoer.
(9) Plaats de opnameflens (B) op de uitgaande as (A) van het elektrische
gereedschap. De opnameflens moet zo op de uitgaande as gemonteerd
worden dat de verdraaibeveiliging (twee vlakke kanten) over de vlakke
kanten van de uitgaande as valt.
(9) Plaats de afstandsring (C; 5,2mm) op de uitgaande as van het
elektrische gereedschap, zorg er voor dat de centreerkraag aan de
buitenzijde ligt. Indien wenselijk, omdat de diamantslijpschijf te dicht tegen
de bescherm- en afzuigkap ligt, kan ook de afstandsring van 7,2mm
gemonteerd worden.
Let er bij de montage van de diamantslijpschijf op dat de draairichtingspijl op
de diamantslijpschijf en de draairichting van het elektrische gereedschap (zie
draairichtingspijl op de voorzijde van de machine) overeenkomen.
(9) Plaats de diamantslijpschijf (D) op de afstandsring.
Druk op de blokkeerknop [14] voor de uitgaande as om deze vast te zetten.
Schroef de spanmoer (E) op de as en draai deze met de nokkensleutel [18]
vast. Zorg ervoor dat de kraag van de spanmoer aan de buitenzijde ligt.
(10) Klap de binnenafscherming [5] in en plaats het deksel op de bescherm-
en afzuigkap.
(10) Draai de drie schroefbouten met behulp van een schroevendraaier in
de bescherm- en afzuigkap vast.
(11) Draai de dieptevergrendeling (in een willekeurige stand) vast.

Controleer na de montage van de diamantslijpschijf en vóór het inschakelen
van het elektrische gereedschap of de diamantslijpschijf correct is
gemonteerd en vrij kan draaien.
Controleer dat de diamantslijpschijf de bescherm- en afzuigkap of andere
delen niet raakt.
Demonteren van de diamantslijpschijf
Voor het wisselen van de diamantslijpschijf moet de bescherm- en afzuigkap
opengeklapt worden. Plaats het elektrische gereedschap op een vaste
ondergrond.
Pak de diamantslijpschijf niet vast voordat deze is afgekoeld! Deze wordt
tijdens de werkzaamheden zeer heet.
Druk de blokkeerknop nooit in terwijl de uitgaande as nog draait. Hierdoor
kan het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd raken.
Draai de drie boutschroeven die het deksel [7] van de bescherm- en
afzuigkap [3] afsluiten met behulp van een schroevendraaier los.
Draai vervolgens de dieptevergrendeling [6] los.
Verwijder het deksel [7] van de bescherm- en afzuigkap.
Klap de binnenafscherming [5] open.
Druk op de blokkeerknop [15] voor de uitgaande as om deze vast te zetten.
Schroef met behulp van de nokkensleutel [19] de spanmoer [8] los en draai
deze van de uitgaande as [12].
Verwijder de diamantslijpschijf, afstandsring en opnameflens van de
uitgaande as.
4. GEBRUIKSINSTRUCTIES
Controleer altijd of de schakelaar [16] naar behoren werkt en naar de 0-
positie (UIT) terugkeert wanneer u het achterste gedeelte van de schakelaar
neerdrukt, voordat u het elektrische gereedschap op een stopcontact
aansluit.
Slijpdiepte vooraf instellen
Trek altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact vóór werkzaamheden aan het
elektrische gereedschap!
Draai de dieptevergrendeling los, de binnenafscherming kan nu vrij
bewegen binnen zijn bereik.
Klap de binnenafscherming zover open dat de diamantslijpschijf het aantal
gewenste millimeters (x) uit de bescherm- en afzuigkap steekt.
Draai de dieptevergrendeling vast.
De schaalverdeling op het deksel van de bescherm- en afzuigkap is indicatief
en is daarom niet voorzien van een maatverdeling.
De slijtage van de diamantsegmenten heeft invloed op de te behalen
slijpdiepte.
Het gebruik
Sluit de machine aan op een stopcontact waarvan de spanning overeenkomt
met de spanningsaanduiding op de typeplaat.
Sluit de stofafzuiginstallatie aan en schakel deze in.
Raadpleeg de handleiding van de slijpmachine voor instructies over het in- en
uitschakelen van het elektrische gereedschap.
Controleer de diamantslijpschijf vóór het gebruik. De diamantslijpschijf
moet juist gemonteerd zijn en vrij kunnen draaien. Laat de
diamantslijpschijf minstens 1 minuut onbelast proefdraaien. Gebruik geen
beschadigde, niet-ronde of trillende diamantslijpschijf. Beschadigde
diamantslijpschijven kunnen barsten of letsel veroorzaken.
Houdt het elektrische gereedschap met beide handen stevig vast.
Stel de gewenste slijpdiepte in. Zie daarvoor het gedeelte “Slijpdiepte
vooraf instellen”.
Schakel het elektrische gereedschap in.
Breng de slijpeenheid langzaam in het materiaal.
Beweeg het elektrische gereedschap met een matige, aan het te bewerken
materiaal aangepaste, druk door het te bewerken materiaal.
Verticale sneden kunnen door een trekkende manier van werken van
boven naar onderen gemakkelijk worden geslepen.
Draai de slijpeenheid na het einde van de werkzaamheden, terwijl de
motor loopt, uit de snede.
Schakel het elektrische gereedschap uit.
Rem een uitlopende diamantslijpschijf niet af door er aan de zijkant tegen te
drukken.
Een diamantslijpschijf wordt tijdens de werkzaamheden zeer heet. Raak
deze niet aan voordat hij is afgekoeld.
Het slijpen van bochten is niet mogelijk, omdat de diamantslijpschijf anders
in het werkstuk zal blokkeren.
Bij het doorslijpen van bijzonder harde materialen, bijvoorbeeld beton met
veel kiezel, kan de diamantslijpschijf oververhit raken en daardoor
beschadigd raken. Een krans van vonken rond de diamantslijpschijf geeft dit
duidelijk aan.
Onderbreek in dit geval het doorslijpen en laat de diamantslijpschijf bij
maximaal toerental korte tijd onbelast lopen om deze af te laten koelen.
Tips voor de werkzaamheden
Belast het elektrische gereedschap niet zo sterkt dat het tot stilstand komt.
Het werkstuk dient stevig te liggen en beveiligd te zijn tegen wegglijden,
bijvoorbeeld met behulp van spaninrichtingen.
Het elektrische gereedschap mag alleen worden gebruikt voor droog
slijpen.
Een duidelijk verminderde werksnelheid en een krans van vonken rond de
slijpschijf duiden op een stomp geworden diamantslijpschijf. U kunt deze
weer scherp maken door kort te slijpen in een zacht zanderig materiaal
(zoals kalkzandsteen).
5. SERVICE & ONDERHOUD
Trek altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact vóór werkzaamheden aan het
elektrische gereedschap.
Houd het elektrische gereedschap en de ventilatieopeningen altijd schoon
om goed en veilig te werken.
Demonteer na de werkzaamheden de diamantslijpschijf, afstandsring en
flenzen. Reinig deze onderdelen en de bescherm- en afzuigkap.
Raadpleeg de handleiding van de slijpmachine voor aanvullende
onderhoudswerkzaamheden.

6. VEILIGHEIDSWAARSCHUWINGEN
ALGEMENE VEILIGHEIDSWAARSCHUWINGEN VOOR ELEKTRISCHE
GEREEDSCHAPPEN
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle veiligheidswaarschuwingen en
alle voorschriften. Als de waarschuwingen en voorschriften
niet worden opgevolgd, kan dit een elektrische schok, brand
of ernstig letsel tot gevolgen hebben.
Bewaar alle waarschuwingen en voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
Het in de waarschuwingen gebruikte begrip “elektrisch gereedschap” heeft
betrekking op elektrische gereedschappen voor gebruik op het stroomnet
(met netsnoer) en op elektrische gereedschappen voor gebruik met een accu
(zonder netsnoer).
1) Werkomgeving
a) Houd uw werkomgeving schoon en goed verlicht. Een rommelige of
onverlichte werkomgeving kan tot ongevallen leiden.
b) Werk met het gereedschap niet in een omgeving met explosiegevaar
waarin zich brandbare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof bevinden. Elektrische
gereedschappen veroorzaken vonken die het stof of de dampen tot ontsteking
kunnen brengen.
c) Houd kinderen en andere personen tijdens het gebruik van het
elektrische gereedschap uit de buurt. Wanneer u wordt afgeleid, kunt u de
controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De aansluitstekker van het elektrisch gereedschap moet in het
stopcontact passen. De stekker mag in geen geval worden veranderd.
Gebruik geen adapterstekkers in combinatie met geaarde elektrische
gereedschappen. Onveranderde stekkers en passende stopcontacten
beperken het risico van een elektrische schok.
b) Voorkom aanraking van het lichaam met geaarde oppervlakken,
bijvoorbeeld van buizen, verwarmingen, fornuizen en koelkasten. Er
bestaat een verhoogd risico door een elektrische schok wanneer uw lichaam
geaard is.
c) Houd elektrische gereedschappen uit de buurt van regen en vocht. Het
binnendringen van water in het elektrisch gereedschap vergroot het risico van
een elektrische schok.
d) Gebruik de kabel niet voor een verkeerd doel, om het elektrisch
gereedschap te dragen of op te hangen of om de stekker uit het
stopcontact te trekken. Houd de kabel uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe
randen en bewegende gereedschapsdelen. Beschadigde of in de war
geraakte kabels vergroten het risico van een elektrische schok.
e) Wanneer u buitenshuis met elektrisch gereedschap werkt, dient u alleen
verlengkabels te gebruiken die voor gebruik buitenshuis geschikt zijn. Het
gebruik van een voor gebruik buitenshuis geschikte verlengkabel beperkt het
risico van een elektrische schok.
f) Als het gebruik van het elektrische gereedschap in een vochtige omgeving
onvermijdelijk is, dient u een aardlekschakelaar te gebruiken. Het gebruik
van een aardlekschakelaar vermindert het risico van een elektrische schok.
3) Veiligheid van personen
a) Wees alert, let goed op wat u doet en ga met verstand te werk bij het
gebruik van het elektrische gereedschap. Gebruik geen elektrisch
gereedschap wanneer u moe bent of onder invloed staat van drugs, alcohol
of medicijnen. Een moment van onoplettendheid bij het gebruik van
elektrisch gereedschap kan tot ernstige verwondingen leiden.
b) Draag persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting en altijd een veiligheidsbril.
Het dragen van persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting zoals een stofmasker,
slipvaste werkschoenen, een veiligheidshelm of gehoorbescherming,
afhankelijk van de aard en het gebruik van het elektrisch gereedschap,
vermindert het risico van verwondingen.
c) Voorkom per ongeluk inschakelen. controleer dat het elektrische
gereedschap uitgeschakeld is voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt
of de accu aansluit en voordat u het gereedschap oppakt of draagt.
Wanneer u bij het dragen van het elektrisch gereedschap uw vinger aan de
schakelaar hebt of wanneer u het gereedschap ingeschakeld op de
stroomvoorziening aansluit, kan dit tot ongevallen leiden.
d) Verwijder instelgereedschappen of schroefsleutels voordat u het
elektrisch gereedschap inschakelt. Een instelgereedschap of sleutel in een
draaiend deel van het gereedschap kan tot verwondingen leiden.
e) Voorkom een onevenwichtige lichaamshouding. Zorg ervoor dat u stevig
staat en steeds in evenwicht blijft. Daardoor kunt u het elektrisch
gereedschap in onverwachte situaties beter onder controle houden.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden.
Houd haren, kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen.
Loshangende kleding, lange haren en sieraden kunnen door bewegende delen
worden meegenomen.
g) Wanneer stofafzuigings- of stofopvangvoorzieningen kunnen worden
gemonteerd, dient u zich ervan te verzekeren dat deze zijn aangesloten en
juist worden gebruikt. Het gebruik van een stofafzuiging kan het gevaar door
stof verminderen.
4) Gebruik en onderhoud van elektrische gereedschappen
a) Overbelast het gereedschap niet. Gebruik voor uw werkzaamheden het
daarvoor bestemde elektrisch gereedschap. Met het passende elektrisch
gereedschap werkt u beter en veiliger binnen het aangegeven
capaciteitsbereik.
b) Gebruik geen elektrisch gereedschap waarvan de schakelaar defect is.
Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet meer kan worden in- of uitgeschakeld, is
gevaarlijk en moet worden gerepareerd.
c) Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact of verwijder de accu voordat u het
gereedschap instelt, toebehoren wisselt of het gereedschap weglegt. Deze
voorzorgsmaatregel voorkomt onbedoeld starten van het elektrisch
gereedschap.
d) Bewaar niet-gebruikte elektrische gereedschappen buiten bereik van
kinderen. Laat het gereedschap niet gebruiken door personen die er niet
mee vertrouwd zijn en deze aanwijzingen niet hebben gelezen. Elektrische
gereedschappen zijn gevaarlijk wanneer deze door onervaren personen
worden gebruikt.
e) Verzorg het elektrisch gereedschap zorgvuldig. Controleer of bewegende
delen van het gereedschap correct functioneren en niet vastklemmen en of
onderdelen zodanig gebroken of beschadigd zijn dat de werking van het
elektrisch gereedschap nadelig wordt beïnvloed. Laat deze beschadigde
onderdelen voor het gebruik repareren. Veel ongevallen hebben hun
oorzaak in slecht onderhouden elektrische gereedschappen.
f) Houd snijdende inzetgereedschappen scherp en schoon. Zorgvuldig
onderhouden snijdende inzetgereedschappen met scherpe snijkanten
klemmen minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te geleiden.
g) Gebruik elektrische gereedschappen, toebehoren, inzetgereedschappen
en dergelijke volgens deze aanwijzingen. Let daarbij op de
arbeidsomstandigheden en de uit te voeren werkzaamheden. Het gebruik
van elektrische gereedschappen voor andere dan de voorziene toepassingen
kan tot gevaarlijke situaties leiden.
5) Service
a) Laat het elektrisch gereedschap alleen repareren door gekwalificeerd en
vakkundig personeel en alleen met originele vervangingsonderdelen.
Daarmee wordt gewaarborgd dat de veiligheid van het gereedschap in stand
blijft.
GEREEDSCHAPSPECIFIEKE VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN
Waarschuwingen voor muurfrezen
Lees alle veiligheidsvoorschriften, aanwijzingen en overige voorschriften en
bekijk alle afbeeldingen die bij dit elektrische gereedschap zijn
meegeleverd. Als de de volgende aanwijzingen niet in acht worden genomen,
kan dit een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel tot gevolg hebben.
a) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap alleen met de meegeleverde
beschermkap. De beschermkap moet stevig op het elektrische gereedschap
zijn aangebracht en zodanig zijn ingesteld dat een maximum aan veiligheid
wordt bereikt, dat wil zeggen dat het kleinst mogelijke deel van de
doorslijpschijf open naar de bediener wijst. De beschermkap moet de
bediener beschermen tegen brokstukken en toevallig contact met de
doorslijpschijf.
b) Gebruik alleen diamantslijpschijven voor uw elektrische gereedschap.
Het feit dat u het toebehoren aan het elektrische gereedschap kunt
bevestigen, waarborgt nog geen veilig gebruik.
c) Het toegestane toerental van het inzetgereedschap moet minstens even
hoog zijn als het maximale toerental dat op het elektrische gereedschap
vermeld staat. Toebehoren dat sneller draait dan toegestaan, kan breken en
wegvliegen.
d) Diamantslijpschijven mogen alleen worden gebruikt voor de
geadviseerde toepassingsmogelijkheden. Bijvoorbeeld: slijp nooit met het
zijvlak van een doorslijpschijf. Doorslijpschijven zijn bestemd voor
materiaalafname met de rand van de schijf. Een zijwaartse krachtinwerking
op dit slijptoebehoren kan het toebehoren stukbreken.
e) Gebruik altijd onbeschadigde spanflenzen in de juiste maat voor de door
u gekozen doorslijpschijf. Geschikte flenzen steunen de doorslijpschijf en
verminderen zo het gevaar van een breuk van de doorslijpschijf.

f) De buitendiameter en de dikte van het inzetgereedschap moeten
overeenkomen met de maatgegevens van het elektrische gereedschap.
Inzetgereedschappen met onjuiste afmetingen kunnen niet voldoende
afgeschermd of gecontroleerd worden.
g) Doorslijpschijven, flenzen en ander toebehoren moeten nauwkeurig op
de uitgaande as van het elektrische gereedschap passen.
Inzetgereedschappen die niet nauwkeurig op de uitgaande as van het
elektrische gereedschap passen, draaien ongelijkmatig, trillen sterk en
kunnen tot het verlies van de controle leiden.
h) Gebruik geen beschadigde inzetgereedschappen. Controleer voor het
gebruik inzetgereedschappen altijd op afsplinteringen en scheuren. Als het
elektrische gereedschap of het inzetgereedschap valt, dient u te
controleren of het beschadigd is, of dient u een onbeschadigd
inzetgereedschap te gebruiken. Als u het inzetgereedschap hebt
gecontroleerd en ingezet, laat u het elektrische gereedschap een minuut
lang met het maximale toerental lopen. Daarbij dient u en dienen andere
personen uit de buurt van het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap te blijven.
Beschadigde inzetgereedschappen breken meestal gedurende deze testtijd.
i) Draag persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting. Gebruik afhankelijk van de
toepassing een volledige gezichtsbescherming, oogbescherming of
veiligheidsbril. Draag voor zover van toepassing een stofmasker, een
gehoorbescherming, werkhandschoenen of een speciaal schort dat kleine
slijp- en materiaaldeeltjes tegenhoudt. Uw ogen moeten worden beschermd
tegen wegvliegende deeltjes die bij verschillende toepassingen ontstaan. Een
stof- of adembeschermingsmasker moet het bij de toepassing ontstaande stof
filteren. Als u lang wordt blootgesteld aan luid lawaai, kan uw gehoor worden
beschadigd.
j) Let erop dat andere personen zich op een veilige afstand bevinden van de
plaats waar u werkt. Iedereen die de werkomgeving betreedt, moet
persoonlijke beschermende uitrusting dragen. Brokstukken van het werkstuk
of gebroken inzetgereedschappen kunnen wegvliegen en verwondingen
veroorzaken, ook buiten de directe werkomgeving.
k) Houd het elektrische gereedschap alleen vast aan de geïsoleerde
greepvlakken als u werkzaamheden uitvoert waarbij het inzetgereedschap
verborgen stroomleidingen of de eigen netkabel kan raken. Contact met een
onder spanning staande leiding zet ook de metalen delen van het elektrische
gereedschap onder spanning en leidt tot een elektrische schok.
l) Houd de stroomkabel uit de buurt van draaiende inzetgereedschappen.
Als u de controle over het elektrische gereedschap verliest, kan de
stroomkabel worden doorgesneden of meegenomen en uw hand of arm kan
in het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap terechtkomen.
m) Leg het elektrische gereedschap nooit neer voordat het
inzetgereedschap volledig tot stilstand is gekomen. Het draaiende
inzetgereedschap kan in contact komen met het oppervlak, waardoor u de
controle over het elektrische gereedschap kunt verliezen.
n) Laat het elektrische gereedschap niet lopen terwijl u het draagt. Uw
kleding kan door toevallig contact met het draaiende inzetgereedschap
worden meegenomen en het inzetgereedschap kan zich in uw lichaam boren.
o) Reinig regelmatig de ventilatieopeningen van het elektrische
gereedschap. De motorventilator trekt stof in het huis en een sterke ophoping
van metaalstof kan elektrische gevaren veroorzaken.
p) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet in de buurt van brandbare
materialen. Vonken kunnen deze materialen ontsteken.
q) Gebruik geen inzetgereedschappen waarvoor vloeibare koelmiddelen
vereist zijn. Het gebruik van water of andere vloeibare koelmiddelen kan tot
een elektrische schok leiden.
VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES MET HET OOG OP TERUGSLAGEN EN ANDERE
GEVAARLIJKE SITUATIES:
Terugslag is de plotselinge reactie als gevolg van een vast hakend of
geblokkeerd draaiend inzetgereedschap, zoals een slijpschijf, steunschijf,
draadborstel, enzovoorts. Vasthaken of blokkeren leidt tot abrupte stilstand
van het ronddraaiende inzetgereedschap. Daardoor wordt een
ongecontroleerd elektrisch gereedschap tegen de draairichting van het
inzetgereedschap versneld op de plaats van de blokkering.
Als bijvoorbeeld een slijpschijf in het werkstuk vast haakt of blokkeert, kan de
rand van de slijpschijf die in het werkstuk invalt, zich vastgrijpen. Daardoor
kan de slijpschijf uitbreken of een terugslag veroorzaken. De slijpschijf
beweegt zich vervolgens naar de bediener toe of van de bediener weg,
afhankelijk van de draairichting van de schijf op de plaats van de blokkering.
Hierbij kunnen slijpschijven ook breken.
Een terugslag is het gevolg van verkeerd gebruik of onjuiste
gebruiksomstandigheden van het elektrische gereedschap. Terugslag kan
voorkomen worden door geschikte voorzorgsmaatregelen, zoals hieronder
beschreven.
a) Houd het elektrische gereedschap goed vast en breng uw lichaam en uw
armen in een positie dat u de terugslagkrachten kunt opvangen. Gebruik
altijd de extra handgreep, indien aanwezig, om de grootst mogelijke
controle te hebben over terugslagkrachten of reactiemomenten bij het op
toeren komen. De bediener kan door geschikte voorzorgsmaatregelen de
terugslag- en reactiekrachten beheersen.
b) Breng uw hand nooit in de buurt van draaiende inzetgereedschappen.
Het inzetgereedschap kan bij de terugslag over uw hand bewegen.
c) Mijd met uw lichaam het gebied waarheen het elektrische gereedschap
bij een terugslag wordt bewogen. De terugslag drijft het elektrische
gereedschap in de richting die tegengesteld is aan de beweging van de
slijpschijf op de plaats van de blokkering.
d) Werk bijzonder voorzichtig in de buurt van hoeken, scherpe randen,
enzovoorts. Voorkom dat inzetgereedschappen van het werkstuk
terugspringen en vastklemmen. Het roterende inzetgereedschap heeft de
neiging om bij hoeken, scherpe randen of ingeval het terugspringt beklemd te
raken. Dit leidt tot verlies van controle of een terugslag.
e) Gebruik geen kettingblad of getand zaagblad. Zulke inzetgereedschappen
veroorzaken vaak een terugslag of het verlies van de controle over het
elektrische gereedschap.
f) Voorkom blokkeren van de doorslijpschijf en te hoge aandrukkracht. Slijp
niet overmatig diep. Een overbelasting van de doorslijpschijf vergroot de
slijtage en de gevoeligheid voor kantelen of blokkeren en daardoor de
mogelijkheid van een terugslag of breuk van het slijptoebehoren.
g) Als de doorslijpschijf vastklemt of als u de werkzaamheden onderbreekt,
schakelt u het elektrische gereedschap uit en houdt u het rustig tot de schijf
tot stilstand is gekomen. Probeer nooit om de nog draaiende doorslijpschijf
uit de groef te trekken. Anders kan een terugslag het gevolg zijn. Stel de
oorzaak van het vastklemmen vast en maak deze ongedaan.
h) Schakel het elektrische gereedschap niet opnieuw in zolang het zich in
het werkstuk bevindt. Laat de doorslijpschijf eerst het volledige toerental
bereiken voordat u het doorslijpen voorzichtig voortzet. Anders kan de schijf
vasthaken, uit het werkstuk springen of een terugslag veroorzaken.
i) Ondersteun platen of grote werkstukken om het risico van een terugslag
door een ingeklemde doorslijpschijf te verminderen. Grote werkstukken
kunnen onder hun eigen gewicht doorbuigen. Het werkstuk moet aan beide
zijden worden ondersteund, vlakbij de slijpgroef en aan de rand.
j) Wees bijzonder voorzichtig bij invallend frezen in bestaande muren of
andere plaatsen zonder voldoende zicht. De invallende doorslijpschijf kan bij
het doorslijpen van gas- of waterleidingen, elektrische leidingen of andere
objecten een terugslag veroorzaken.
EXTRA WAARSCHUWINGEN
a) Gebruik een geschikt detectieapparaat om verborgen stroom-, gas- of
waterleidingen op te sporen of raadpleeg het plaatselijke energie- of
waterleidingbedrijf. Contact met elektrische leidingen kan tot brand of een
elektrische schok leiden. Beschadiging van een gasleiding kan tot een explosie
leiden. Breuk van een waterleiding veroorzaakt materiële schade en kan een
elektrische schok veroorzaken.
b) Gebruik voor het bewerken van steen een stofafzuiging. De stofzuiger
moet zijn goedgekeurd voor het zuigen van steenstof. Het gebruik van deze
voorzieningen beperkt het gevaar door stof.
c) Houd het elektrische gereedschap tijdens de werkzaamheden stevig met
beide handen vast en zorg ervoor dat u stevig staat. Het elektrische
gereedschap wordt met twee handen veiliger geleid.
d) Zet het werkstuk vast. Een met spanvoorzieningen of een bankschroef
vastgehouden werkstuk wordt beter vastgehouden dan u met uw hand kunt
doen.
e) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet met een beschadigde kabel.
Raak de beschadigde kabel niet aan en trek de stekker uit het stopcontact
als de kabel tijdens de werkzaamheden wordt beschadigd. Beschadigde
kabels vergroten het risico van een elektrische schok.

7. GARANTIE
Voor de DustCatch 125 en DustCatch 230 geldt een garantieperiode van 12
maanden welke ingaat op het moment van levering. Garantieaanspraken
dienen te worden aangetoond door middel van overlegging van de
aankoopfactuur. De garantie omvat het herstellen van opgetreden gebreken,
welke terug te voeren zijn op materiaal- en/of fabricagefouten.
Niet onder de garantie vallen:
Gebreken of schaden, opgetreden door foutief gebruik of aansluiten.
Overbelasting van de machine.
Wanneer slecht of foutief onderhoud is gepleegd.
De informatie uit de handleiding niet is goed is opgevolgd.
De machine gebruikt is door onbevoegden.
De machine is gebruikt voor niet geschikte doeleinden.
De machine gerepareerd is met niet-originele onderdelen.
Indien de machinecodering is aangetast of verwijderd.
Indien door brand, vocht en/of transportschade gebreken zijn ontstaan.

Intended Use
This interchangeable equipment is developed to be mounted on several
grinders, see the section “Technical Data”.
The composed tool is, in conjunction with a dust-category M vacuum cleaner,
intended to grind mineral materials such as reinforced concrete, brickwork
and road surfaces, without the use of water.
Power supply
Observe the operating instructions of the grinder. The power tool should be
connected only to a power supply of the same voltage as indicated on the
nameplate.
Dust extraction
Dust released when processing (grinding of minerals) can be harmful to one’s
health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reactions and/or
lead to respiratory infections of the user or bystanders.
To achieve a high degree of dust extraction, use a dust category M vacuum
cleaner for mineral dust together with this power tool.
Provide good ventilation of the working place.
It is recommended to wear a FFP2 filter class respirator
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be
worked.
Please observe the following notes in order to reduce the dust emissions
occurring while working.
Only use combinations of diamond grinding wheels, concrete grinders with
mounted guard and extraction hood as well as dust category M vacuum
cleaners that are recommended by Carat. Other combinations can lead to
insufficient dust collection and separation.
Observe the operating instructions of the vacuum cleaner for maintenance
and cleaning of the vacuum cleaner, including the filter. Empty dust
collection containers immediately once full. Clean the filters of the vacuum
cleaner regularly and always insert the filters completely into the vacuum
cleaner.
Only use vacuum hoses as intended by Carat. Do not manipulate the
vacuum hose. When rocks or chunks of stone/masonry are drawn into the
vacuum hose, cease work and clean the vacuum hose immediately. Prevent
the vacuum hose from being bent or creased.
Use the concrete grinder only as intended for.
Only use tools that are in perfect condition. Decrease in work progress is
noticeable whilst using worn tools.
Observe the general requirements for construction sites.
Provide for good ventilation.
Ensure that the work area is free of obstructions. For longer grinding jobs,
the vacuum cleaner must be able to move along freely and at the right
time.
Wear hearing protection, protective goggles, a dust mask and gloves as
required. As dust mask, use at least a particle-filtering class FFP 2 half-mask.
Use a suitable vacuum cleaner for cleaning the workplace. Prevent settled
dust from being swirled up by sweeping.
Noise level
Observe the operating instructions of the grinder, where the interchangeable
equipment is mounted on, for the sound pressure level and the sound power
level.
WEAR HEARING PROTECTION!
Vibration
Observe the operating instructions of the grinder, where the interchangeable
equipment is mounted on, for the vibration emission.
The declared vibration emission level represents the main applications of the
tool. However if the tool is used for different applications, with different
accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ. This may
significantly increase the exposure level over the total working period.
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also take into
account the times the tool is switched off or when it is running but not
actually operating. This may significantly reduce the exposure level over the
total working period.

Environment
Do not use this power tool in a dangerous environment. Do not use it in an
wet or clamp environment, such as rain. The working area must be dry.
Mind (when working on floors, walls or sealing’s) concealed electric lines, gas
and water pipes. Check your working area, e.g. with a metal detector.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.

3. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Pull the mains plug of the power tool from the socket, before any work on
the machine itself!
It’s recommended to wear worker’s gloves while assembling or changing the
diamond grinding wheel.
Diamond grinding wheels become very hot due operating. Don’t touch them
until they have cooled down.
Diamond grinding wheel
This composed power tool is not intended to be used in combination with
other tools than diamond grinding wheels. The guard doesn’t supply suitable
protection for tools other than diamond grinding wheels.
The arbor of the diamond grinding wheel must fit the mounting flange. Do
not increase the arbor of the diamond grinding wheel. Do not use reducers or
adapters.
The permissible speed (rpm) of the diamond grinding wheel used must be at
least the speed stated on the nameplate of the used grinder.
Always select a diamond grinding wheel suitable for the specific material to
be grinded. We advise diamond grinding wheels from Carat. Observe the
manual of the grinding wheel.
Make sure the diamond grinding wheel is rotating in the correct direction.
Verify the direction of the arrow on the diamond grinding wheel is
corresponding the direction of the arrow on the power tool.
Mounting the interchangeable equipment
The guard and extraction hood comes with 5 pair assembly flanges and is
suitable to be mounted on several grinders, see section “Technical Data”.
Never use assembly flanges which are not suitable for the selected grinder.
On each pair of assembly flanges is stated for which grinder they are suitable.
At the first part the brand and a unique number are engraved, on the second
part only the unique number is engraved.
The numbering of the several parts reflect to the graphics on page 2 of this
manual. The steps reflect to the graphics starting on page 3.
(1) Remove the original guard, mounted on the power tool. Observe the
operating instructions of the grinder, where the interchangeable equipment
will be mounted on.
(2) Remove the clamping nut [8] and the mounting flange [11] from the
power tool where this interchangeable equipment will be mounted on.
(2A & 2B) When a grinder of the brand Makita is used in combination with
a DustCatch 230 guard, the four bolts of the gearbox must be disassembled.
These bolts are to be replaced with the delivered bolts FBB616.
(3 &4) Clamp the two parts [1] of one pair assembly flanges around the
flange of the grinder. If necessary (not for a Metabo grinder) tighten the
two screws [2]. Mind that the assembly flanges fit one way, the engraved
text must point outwards.
(5) Loosen the depth locking [6].
(6) Loosen the three cylindrical screws which mount the cover [7] on the
guard and extraction hood [3] with the aid of a screwdriver. Remove the
cover from the guard and extraction hood.
(7) Mount the guard and extraction hood on the assembly flanges en
tighten the four screws [4].
(8) Mount the auxiliary handle [17] supplied with the grinder, parallel to the
diamond grinding wheel, as illustrated.
Mounting the diamond grinding wheel
To change the diamond grinding wheel the guard and extraction hood must
be swiveled out. Place the power tool on a firm surface.
Clean the mounting flange, spacer and clamping nut.
(9) Place the mounting flange (B) on the grinder spindle (A). The mounting
flange must be mounted in such way the rotation-lock (two flat surfaces) is
corresponding the flat surfaces of the grinder spindle.
(9) Mount the spacer (C; 5,2mm) on the grinder spindle, make sure the
bushing is pointing outwards. If desired, because the diamond grinding
wheel is too close to the guard and extraction hood, the spacer of 7,2mm
may be mounted.
Make sure, mounting the diamond grinding wheel, the direction of the arrow
on the diamond grinding wheel is corresponding the direction of the arrow on
the power tool.
(9) Mount the diamond grinding wheel (D) on the spacer.
Push the spindle lock button [14] to lock the grinder spindle. Screw on the
clamping nut (E) on the spindle and tighten it with the two-pin spanner
[18]. Make sure the bushing of the clamping nut is pointing outwards.
(10) Close the inner guard [5] and place the cover on the guard and
extraction hood.
(10) Tighten the three cylindrical screws of the cover with the aid of a
screwdriver.
(11) Tighten the depth locking (at a random position).
After mounting the diamond grinding wheel and before switching on, check
the diamond grinding wheel is correctly mounted and that it can turn freely.
Make sure the diamond grinding wheel doesn’t graze against the guard and
extraction hood or other parts.

Dismounting the diamond grinding wheel
To change the diamond grinding wheel the guard and extraction hood must
be swiveled out. Place the power tool on a firm surface.
Do not touch the diamond grinding wheel before it cooled down! The
diamond grinding wheel may become very hot while operating.
Never push the spindle lock button when the spindle is still rotating!
Otherwise the machine may damage.
Loosen the cylindrical screws which mount the cover [7] on the guard and
extraction hood [3] with the aid of a screwdriver.
Loosen the depth locking [6].
Remove the cover [7] from the guard and extraction hood.
Swivel the inner guard [5] open.
Push the spindle lock button [15] to lock the grinder spindle. Loosen the
clamping nut [8] with the aid of the two-pin spanner [19] and dismount it
from the grinder spindle [12].
Remove the diamond grinding wheel, spacer and mounting flange from the
grinder spindle.
4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Verify the switch [16] actuates properly and returns to the 0-position when
the rear of the switch lever is pressed, before plugging in the power tools.
Set grinding depth in advance
Pull the mains plug of the power tool from the socket, before any work on
the machine itself!
Loosen the depth locking, so the inner guard can move in its runway.
Swivel the inner guard open until the diamond grinding wheel sticks out the
requested amount of millimeters (x) from the guard and extraction hood.
Tighten the depth locking.
The graduated scale on the cover of the guard and extraction hood is
indicative en therefore not foreseen of a calibration.
When the segments wear down this declines the grinding depth.
Usage
Connect the power tool to an power supply with the same current as stated
on the nameplate.
Connect and switch on the dust extractor.
Observe the operating instructions of the grinder for instructions to switch
the power tool ON and OFF.
Check the diamond grinding wheel before using. The diamond grinding
wheel must be mounted properly and be able to move freely. Carry out a
test run for at least one minute with no load. Do not use damaged, out-of-
centre or vibrating diamond grinding wheels. Damaged diamond grinding
wheels can burst and cause injuries.
Operate the power tool with both hands.
Set the requested grinding depth. See section “Set grinding depth in
advance”.
Switch the power tool on.
Slowly bring the grinding unit into the material.
Move the power tool applying a moderate feed, suited to the material
being grinded.
Vertical slots can easily be grinded by pulling the power tool from top to
bottom.
At the ending of the grinding procedure swivel the grinding unit out of the
material, when the power tool is still running.
Switch the power tool off.
Do not slow down the freewheeling diamond grinding wheel applying
sideward pressure.
The diamond grinding wheel may become very hot while operating. Don’t
touch the diamond grinding wheel before it cooled down.
Curved cuts are not possible, the diamond grinding wheel will jam in the
material.
For grinding especially hard material, e.g. concrete with high pebble content,
the diamond grinding wheel can overheat and get damaged. This is clearly
indicated by circular sparking, rotating with the diamond grinding wheel.
When this occurs interrupt the grinding process and allow the diamond
grinding wheel to cool down. Run the power tool for a short time at no-load
speed.
Working advice
Do not strain the power tool so heavily that it comes to a standstill.
Firmly support the work piece, secured against sliding, e.g. with clamping
devices.
The power tool may only be used for grinding without the use of water.
Noticeable decreasing work progress and circular sparking indicates the
diamond grinding wheel has become dull. Briefly grinding a abrasive
material (e.g. lime-sand brick) can sharpen the wheel again.

5. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE

For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots
clean.
Dismount and clean the diamond grinding wheel, spacer and flanges after
finishing. Clean the guard and extraction hood.
Observe the operating instructions of the grinder for supplementary service
and maintenance activities.
6. SAFETY WARNINGS
GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded)
power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks
which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any
way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed(grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock
if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a
power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and
moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or
hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position
before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or
carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or
energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in
personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of
dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate
for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any
power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from
the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the
power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work
to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
MACHINE SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS
Safety warnings for wall chasers
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications
provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
a) Always use guard provided with the tool. The guard must be securely
attached to the power tool and positioned for maximum safety, so the least
amount of wheel is exposed towards the operator. Position yourself and
bystanders away from the plane of the rotating wheel. The guard helps to
protect operator from broken wheel fragments and accidental contact with
wheel.
b) Use only diamond cut-off wheels for your power tool. Just because an
accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure safe
operation.
c) The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum
speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated
speed can break and fly apart.
d) Wheels must be used only for recommended applications. For example:
do not grind with the side of cut-off wheel. Abrasive cutoff wheels are
intended for peripheral grinding, side forces applied to these wheels may
cause them to shatter.
e) Always use undamaged wheel flanges that are of correct diameter for
your selected wheel. Proper wheel flanges support the wheel thus reducing
the possibility of wheel breakage.
f) The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within
the capacity rating of your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be
adequately guarded or controlled.
g) The arbour size of wheels and flanges must properly fit the spindle of the
power tool. Wheels and flanges with arbour holes that do not match the
mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate
excessively and may cause loss of control.
h) Do not use damaged wheels. Before each use, inspect the wheels for
chips and cracks. If power tool or wheel is dropped, inspect for damage or
install an undamaged wheel. After inspecting and installing the wheel,
position yourself and bystanders away from the plane of the rotating wheel
and run the power tool at maximum no load speed for one minute.
Damaged wheels will normally break apart during this test time.
i) Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use face
shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask,
hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small
abrasive or workpiece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of
stopping flying debris generated by various operations. The dust mask or
respirator must be capable of filtrating particles generated by your operation.
Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may cause hearing loss.

j) Keep bystanders a safe distance away from the work area. Anyone
entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment.
Fragments of workpiece or of a broken accessory may fly away and cause
injury beyond immediate area of operation.
k) Hold the power tool only by the insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring
or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed metal parts
of the power tool “live” and shock the operator.
l) Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control of the
power tool, the cord may be cut or snagged and your hand or arm may be
pulled into the spinning accessory.
m) Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a
complete stop. The spinning accessory may grab the surface and pull the
power tool out of your control.
n) Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental
contact with the spinning accessory could snag your clothing, pulling the
accessory into your body.
o) Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will draw the
dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may
cause electrical hazards.
p) Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could
ignite these materials.
q) Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants. Using water or other
liquid coolants may result in electrocution or shock.
KICKBACK AND RELATED WARNINGS
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing
pad, brush or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging causes rapid stalling
of the rotating accessory which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to
be forced in the direction opposite of the accessory’s rotation at the point of
the binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the
edge of the wheel that is entering into the pinch point can dig into the surface
of the material causing the wheel to climb out or kick out. The wheel may
either jump toward or away from the operator, depending on direction of the
wheel’s movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive wheels may also break
under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/or incorrect operating
procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as
given below.
a) Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your body and arm to
allow you to resist kickback forces. Always use auxiliary handle, if provided,
for maximum control over kickback or torque reaction during start-up. The
operator can control torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper precautions
are taken.
b) Never place your hand near the rotating accessory. The accessory may
kickback over your hand.
c) Do not position your body in the area where the power tool will move if
kickback occurs. Kickback will propel the tool in the direction opposite to the
wheel’s movement at the point of snagging.
d) Use special care when working corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid bouncing
and snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp edges or bouncing have a
tendency to snag the rotating accessory and cause loss of control or kickback.
e) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such
blades create frequent kickback and loss of control over the power tool.
f) Do not “jam” the cut-off wheel or apply excessive pressure. Do not
attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing the wheel
increases the loading and susceptibility to twisting or binding of the wheel in
the cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel breakage.
g) When wheel is binding or when interrupting a cut for any reason, switch
off the power tool and hold the power tool motionless until the wheel
comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the cut-off wheel from
the cut while the wheel is in motion, otherwise kickback may occur.
Investigate and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of wheel binding.
h) Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece. Let the wheel
reach full speed and carefully reenter the cut. The wheel may bind, walk up
or kickback if the power tool is restarted in the workpiece.
i) Support panels or any oversized workpiece to minimize the risk of wheel
pinching and kickback. Large workpieces tend to sag under their own weight.
Supports must be placed under the workpiece near the line of cut and near the
edge of the workpiece on both sides of the wheel.
j) Use extra caution when making a “pocket cut” into existing walls or other
blind areas. The protruding wheel may cut gas or water pipes, electrical
wiring or objects that can cause kickback.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS
a) Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work
area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric
lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to
explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an
electric shock.
b) When working stone, use dust extraction. The vacuum cleaner must be
approved for the extraction of stone dust. Using this equipment reduces
dust-related hazards.
c) When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands
and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more secure with
both hands.
d) Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a
vice is held more secure than by hand.
e) Never use the machine with a damaged cable. Do not touch the damaged
cable and pull the mains plug when the cable is damaged while working.
Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric shock.
7. GUARANTEE
The guarantee period for the DustCatch 125 and DustCatch 230 is 12 months,
starting at the moment of delivery. Guarantee claims have to be proved by
showing the invoice of purchase. The guarantee contains repairing the
occurred lacks; which can be leaded back to material and/or manufacturing
failures.
Not covered by the guarantee:
Lacks or damages, which occurred by misuse or incorrect connecting.
Power tool overload.
By bad or wrong maintenance.
When the given instructions aren’t followed correctly.
The power tool is used by unauthorized persons.
The power tool is used for unsuitable purposes.
The power tool is repaired with non-original spare parts.
The machine code is affected or removed.
Lacks by fire, moist and/or transport damage.

Préconisation
Cet équipement interchangeable est développé pour être montés sur
différentes meuleuses, voir la section ’’Fiche technique’’.
La machine compose est , en utilisation avec un aspirateur de catégorie M,
prévue pour tronçonner les matériaux minéraux tells que béton armé, brique
et bitume ,sans utilisation d’eau.
Alimentation
Observer les instructions de la meuleuse. La machine devra seulement être
connectée a une alimentation ayant le même voltage que celui indiqué sur la
plaque de la machine.
Extraction de poussières
La poussière dégagée pendant l’opération (coupe de matériaux) peut être
nocive pour la santé. Toucher ou respirer les poussières peut causer des
réactions allergiques et/ou mener a des infections respiratoires pour l'
opérateur ou le spectateur.
Pour atteindre un haut degré d’extraction de poussières, utiliser un
aspirateur de catégorie M.
Bien aérer l’endroit de travail.
Il est recommandé de porter un masque respiratoire de classe FFP2.
Respectez les règlements en vigueur dans votre pays spécifiques aux

Respectez les indications suivantes pour réduire les émissions de poussières
générées lors des travaux.
Utiliser uniquement une combinaison de disques pour béton avec carter de
protection monté et capot d’extraction comme il est recommandé par
CARAT. D’autres combinaisons pouvant entrainé une déficience de
recuprération de poussières.
Respectez les instructions d’utilisation de l’aspirateur en ce qui concerne le
maintien et le nettoyage de l’aspirateur y compris des filtres. Videz
immédiatement les bacs de récupération des poussières lorsqu’ils sont
pleins. Nettoyez régulièrement les filtres de l’aspirateur et montez les filtres
toujours complètement dans l’aspirateur.
N’utilisez que les tuyaux d’aspiration prévus par Carat. Ne pas manipuler le
tuyau d’aspiration. Au cas où des pierres pénètreraient dans le tuyau
d’aspiration, interrompez le travail et nettoyez immédiatement le tuyau
d’aspiration. Evitez de plier le tuyau d’aspiration.
Utiliser seulement le disque approprié.
Utiliser l’outil de bonne qualité. Diminuer la vitesse de travail revient a
utiliser un outil usé.
Respectez les exigences générales pour les endroits de travail sur les
chantiers.
Veillez à une bonne aération.
Assurer vous que la surface de travail n’a pas d’obstacle. Pour un rainurage
long le systeme e depoussierrage doit etre capable de se deplacer
librement.
Utilisez des protections auditives, des lunettes de protection, un masque
anti poussières et, le cas échéant, des gants. Utilisez en tant que masque
anti poussières au moins un demi-masque filtrant de la classe FFP 2.
Pour nettoyer votre endroit de travail, utilisez un aspirateur approprié. Ne
soulevez pas de la poussière déposée en balayant.
Niveau sonore
Observer les instructions de la meuleuse, sur laquelle , l’equipement
interchangeable est monté, concernant le niveau sonore

Vibration
Observer les instructions de la meuleuse relatives aux emissions de vibration.
L’amplitude d’oscillation représente les utilisations principales de l’outil
électroportatif. Si l’outil électroportatif est cependant utilisé pour d’autres
applications, avec d’autres outils de travail ou avec un entretien non
approprié, l’amplitude d’oscillation peut être différente. Ceci peut augmenter
considérablement la sollicitation vibratoire pendant toute la durée de travail.
Pour une estimation précise de la sollicitation vibratoire, il est recommandé
de prendre aussi en considération les espaces de temps pendant lesquels
l’appareil est éteint ou en fonctionnement, mais pas vraiment utilisé. Ceci
peut réduire considérablement la sollicitation vibratoire pendant toute la
durée de travail.

Environnement
Ne pas utiliser cette machine dans un environnement dangereux. Ne pas
l’utiliser dans un environnement humide tel que la pluie.
Faire attention (pour le travail sur les murs et planchers) aux fils électriques,
gas ,eau et tuyaux. Contrôler votre espace de travail avec par exemple un
détecteur de métaux.
Ne pas suivre ces instructions peut occasionner un choc électrique, feu et/ou
préjudices sérieux.

3. INSTRUCTIONS DE MONTAGE
Retirer les principaux branchement de la machine du mur, avant tout travail
avec la machine.
Il est recommandé de porter des gants lors du montage ou le changement
du disque diamante.
A cause de l’utilisation , les disques diamante deviennent chauds. Ne pas les
toucher avant leur refroidissement.
Disque diamante
Cette machine compose n’ est pas conçue pour être utilisée avec un autre
outil qu’un disque diamante. Le carter ne fournit pas assez de protection pour
des outils autres que le disque diamante.
L’alésage du disque diamante doit s’assembler dans la bague de montage. Ne
pas augmenter l’alésage du disque diamante. Ne pas utiliser de bagues de
réduction.
La vitesse optimale (rpm) du disque diamante utilisé ne doit pas être
supérieure à celle indiquée sur la plaque de la machine.
Toujours sélectionner un disque diamant compatible avec le matériau a
tronçonner. Nous vous recommandons les disques diamant Carat. Observer le
manuel des disques.
S’assurer du bon sens de rotation du disque. Vérifier que le sens de la flèche
du disque diamant correspond a celle indiqué sur la machine.
Montage de l’équipement interchangeable
Le DustCatch est fourni avec 5 jeux de bagues de montage et peut être monté
sur plusieurs meuleuses différentes. Voir paragraphe ”Fiche technique“.
Ne jamais utiliser des bagues de montage qui ne sont pas compatible sur
des meuleuses sélectionnées. Sur chaque pair de bagues d’assemblage est
indiqué sur quelle machine elles sont destinées. Sur la première face ,la
marque et un numéro unique sont gravés, sur la seconde face seulement un
numéro unique est gravé.
La numérotation des différentes pièces est reportée sur les schémas de la
page 2 du manuel d’utilisation. Chaque étape est détaillée sur les schémas de
démarrage de la page 3.
(1) Enlever le carter original, monté sur la machine. Observer les
instructions de la machine sur laquelle l’équipement doit être monté.
(2) Enlever l’écrou de serrage [8] et la bague d’assemblage [11] de la
machine sur laquelle l’équipement doit être monté.
(2A & 2B) Lorsqu’ un abrasif de la gamme Makita est utilisé avec un
guide DustCatch 230, les quatre boulons de la boîte de vitesse doivent être
désassemblés. Ces derniers doivent être remplacés par les boulons livrés
référence FBB616.
(3 & 4) Bloquer les 2 parties [1] en une bague d’assemblage autour de la
bague de la meuleuse. Si nécessaire (pas pour une meuleuse Metabo)
serrer les 2 écrous [2] comme illustré en page 2, figure A. Bien être vigilant
dans le sens de montage des flasques, le texte gravé doit être visible de
l’extérieur.
(5) Desserrer le blocage de profondeur [6].
(6) Desserrer les 3 écrous cylindriques qui assemblent le couvercle [7] sur le
corps de la hotte d’extraction, a l’aide d’une clé. Enlever le couvercle du
corps de la hotte d’extraction.
(7) Monter le corps de la hotte d’extraction sur les bagues de montage et
serrer les 4 écrous [4].
(8) Monter la poignée auxiliaire [17] fournie avec la meuleuse,
parallèlement au disque diamant, comme illustré.
Montage du disque diamante
Pour changer le disque diamante le corps de la hotte d’aspiration doit être
pivoté. Placer la machine sur une surface solide.
Nettoyer la bague de montage , l’entretoise et écrou de serrage.
(9) Mettre la auge de montage (B) sur l’axe de la machine (A). La bague
d’assemblage doit être montée de telle sorte que les surfaces planes
correspondent aux surfaces planes de l’axe de la machine.
(9) Monter l’entretoise (C ; 5,2mm) sur l’axe de la machine ,s’assurer que
l’épailement est pointé a l’exterieur.Si désiré, a cause de la proximité du
disque diamant avec le corps de la hotte. L’entretoise de 7,2mm peut etre
montée.
Assurez-vous, en montant le disque diamanté, que de la direction de la flèche
sur le disque est correspondant avec la direction de la flèche sur l'outil
électrique.
(9) Monter le disque diamant (D) sur l’entretoise.
Pousser le bouton de blocage [14] de larbre pour bloquer l’arbre de la
machine. Serrer l’ecrou de blocage sur l’axe et bloquer avec la clé a 2
tétons.
(10) Fermer la coque intérieure et mettre le couvercle sur le corps de la
hotte d’aspiration.
(10) Serrer les 3 écrous cylindriques.
(11) Serrer le blocage de profondeur (position a l’aveuglette).
Apres le montage du disque diamante et avant l’allumage, contrôler que le
disque diamante est correctement monté et qu’il peut tourner librement.
S’assurer que le disque diamant ne touché pas le corps de la hotte
d’aspiration.
Démontage du disque diamante
Pour demonter le disque diamante le corps de la hotte d’extraction doit être
pivotée. Placer la machine u rune surface solide.
Ne pas toucher le disque diamante avant son refroidissement! Le disque
diamant peut devenir tres chaud pendant l’opération.

Ne jamais appuyer sur le bouton de blocage de l’arbre quand il est encore
en rotation! Autrement la machine peut etre endommagé.
Desserer les 3 écrous cylindrique a l’aide d’une clé.
Desserer le blocage de profondeur [6].
Enlever le couvercle [7].
Pivoter le capot interieur [5].
Pousser le bouton de blocage d’axe [15] pour bloquer l’axe de la meuleuse.
Desserer l’ecrou de blocage a l’aide de la clé a 2 tétons et démonter le de
l’axe de la meuleuse.
Retirer le disque diamant, l’entretoise et la bague de montage de l’axe de la
meuleuses.
4. INSTRUCTIONS OPERATIONNELLES
Vérifier le bon fonctionnement de ‘interrupteur [16] et qu’il retourne a la
position O quand l’arrière de l’interrupteur est pressé, avant le branchement
de la machine.
Réglage en avance de la profondeur de coupe
Retirer les principaux branchement de la machine du mur, avant tout travail
avec la machine.
Desserrer le blocage de profondeur, ainsi le corps intérieur peut bouger
librement.
Pivoter le corps intérieur ouvert jusque le disque diamante dépasse le
chiffre requis en millimètre (x) a partir du corps de la hotte d’extraction.
Serrer le blocage de profondeur.
L’échelle de graduation sur le dessus du carter est a titre indicatif et ne serait
être une graduation officielle.
L’usure du segment affecte la profondeur de coupe.
Utilisation
Connecter la machine sur une source identique a celle indiquée sur la
machine.
Connecter et allumer l’extracteur de poussière.
Observer les instructions indiqués sur la meuleuse pour allumer et éteindre la
meuleuse.
Contrôler le disque diamante avant utilisation. Le disque diamante doit être
monté proprement et doit pouvoir tourner librement. Effectuer un test de
rotation pendant une minute au plus sans charge. Ne pas utiliser de disque
diamant endommagé, excentré ou déséquilibré. Les disques diamant
endommagés peuvent éclatés et causer des dégâts.
Utiliser la machine avec les 2 mains.
Régler la profondeur de coupe désirée. Voir paragraphe “Réglage en avance
de la profondeur de coupe”.
Allumer la machine.
Amener doucement la machine dans le matériau.
Déplacer la machine en appliquant une légère pression.
Les rainures verticales peuvent facilement être faite en tirant la machine de
haut en bas.
A la fin du tronçonnage retirer la machine pendant qu’elle tourne encore.
Fermer la machine.
Ne pas ralentir le disque tournant en appliquant une pression sur la pièce.
Le disque diamante peut devenir très chaud pendant l’opération. Ne pas
toucher le disque diamant avant son refroidissement.
Les coupes incurves ne sont pas possible, le disque diamante se bloquera
dans le matériau.
Pour la coupe dans un matériau très dur, par exemple béton avec des galets,
le disque diamante peut surchauffer et occasionner des dommages. C’est très
visible par les étincelles émises. Quand cela se produit, interrompre
l’opération pour permettre au disque diamant de refroidir. Laisser tourner la
machine sans charge pendant un bref instant.
Conseils d’utilisation
Ne pas surcharger trop lourdement la machine de risque d’immobilisation.
Maintenir fermement la pièce de travail, la sécurisée contre la glissade ,par
exemple par des pinces.
La machine s’utilise sans eau.
Une baisse de rendement notable et des étincelles indiquent que le disque
diamante est devenu encrassé. Couper brièvement dans une Pierre
abrasive (brique réfractaire pour réaffûter le disque diamant.
5. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Retirer de la prise ,les principaux branchements de la machine avant tout
travail sur la machine elle-même.
Tenez toujours propres l’outil électroportatif ainsi que les ouïes de
ventilation afin d’obtenir un travail impeccable et sûr.
Démonter et nettoyer le disque diamante, l’entretoise et les flasques après le
travail fini. Nettoyer le carter de la hotte d’aspiration.
Observer les instructions d’opérations de la meuleuse pour le service
supplémentaires et la maintenance.

6. AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉ
AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉ GÉNÉRAUX POUR L’OUTIL
AVERTISSEMENT Lire tous les avertissements de sécurité et
toutes les instructions. Ne pas suivre les avertissements et
instructions peut donner lieu à un choc électrique, un
incendie et/ou une blessure sérieuse.
Conserver tous les avertissements et toutes les instructions pour pouvoir s’y
reporter ultérieurement.
Le terme « outil » dans les avertissements fait référence à votre outil
électrique alimenté par le secteur (avec cordon d’alimentation) ou votre outil
fonctionnant sur batterie (sans cordon d’alimentation).
1) Sécurité de la zone de travail
a) Conserver la zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Les zones en désordre
ou sombres sont propices aux accidents.
b) Ne pas faire fonctionner les outils électriques en atmosphère explosive,
par exemple en présence de liquides inflammables, de gaz ou de poussières.
Les outils électriques produisent des étincelles qui peuvent enflammer les
poussières ou les fumées.
c) Maintenir les enfants et les personnes présentes à l’écart pendant
l’utilisation de l’outil. Les distractions peuvent vous faire perdre le contrôle de
l’outil.
2) Sécurité électrique
a) Il faut que les fiches de l’outil électrique soient adaptées au socle. Ne
jamais modifier la fiche de quelque façon que ce soit. Ne pas utiliser
d’adaptateurs avec des outils à branchement de terre. Des fiches non
modifiées et des socles adaptés réduiront le risque de choc électrique.
b) Eviter tout contact du corps avec des surfaces reliées à la terre telles que
les tuyaux, les radiateurs, les cuisinières et les réfrigérateurs. Il existe un
risque accru de choc électrique si votre corps est relié à la terre.
c) Ne pas exposer les outils à la pluie ou à des conditions humides. La
pénétration d’eau à l’intérieur d’un outil augmentera le risque de choc
électrique.
d) Ne pas maltraiter le cordon. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon pour porter, tirer
ou débrancher l’outil. Maintenir le cordon à l’écart de la chaleur, du
lubrifiant, des arêtes ou des parties en mouvement. Les cordons
endommagés ou emmêlés augmentent le risque de choc électrique.
e) Lorsqu’on utilise un outil à l’extérieur, utiliser un prolongateur adapté à
l’utilisation extérieure. L’utilisation d’un cordon adapté à l’utilisation
extérieure réduit le risque de choc électrique.
f) Si l’usage d’un outil dans un emplacement humide est inévitable, utiliser
une alimentation protégée par un dispositif à courant différentiel résiduel
(RCD). L’usage d’un RCD réduit le risque de choc électrique.
3) Sécurité des personnes
a) Rester vigilant, regarder ce que vous êtes en train de faire et faire preuve
de bon sens dans votre utilisation de l’outil. Ne pas utiliser un outil lorsque
vous êtes fatigué ou sous l’emprise de drogues, d’alcool ou de
médicaments. Un moment d’inattention en cours d’utilisation d’un outil peut
entraîner des blessures graves des personnes.
b) Utiliser un équipement de sécurité. Toujours porter une protection pour
les yeux. Les équipements de sécurité tels que les masques contre les
poussières, les chaussures de sécurité antidérapantes, les casques ou les
protections acoustiques utilisés pour les conditions appropriées réduiront les
blessures de personnes.
c) Eviter tout démarrage intempestif. S’assurer que l’interrupteur est en
position arrêt avant de brancher l’outil au secteur et/ou au bloc de
batteries, de le ramasser ou de le porter. Porter les outils en ayant le doigt
sur l’interrupteur ou brancher des outils dont l’interrupteur est en
position marche est source d’accidents.
d) Retirer toute clé de réglage avant de mettre l’outil en marche. Une clé
laissée fixée sur une partie tournante de l’outil peut donner lieu à des
blessures de personnes.
e) Ne pas se précipiter. Garder une position et un équilibre adaptés à tout
moment. Cela permet un meilleur contrôle de l’outil dans des situations
inattendues.
f) S’habiller de manière adaptée. Ne pas porter de vêtements amples ou de
bijoux. Garder les cheveux, les vêtements et les gants à distance des parties
en mouvement. Des vêtements amples, des bijoux ou les cheveux longs
peuvent être pris dans des parties en mouvement.
g) Si des dispositifs sont fournis pour le raccordement d’équipements pour
l’extraction et la récupération des poussières, s’assurer qu’ils sont
connectés et correctement utilisés. Utiliser des collecteurs de poussière peut
réduire les risques dus aux poussières.
4) Utilisation et entretien de l’outil
a) Ne pas forcer l’outil. Utiliser l’outil adapté à votre application. L’outil
adapté réalisera mieux le travail et de manière plus sûre au régime pour
lequel il a été construit.
b) Ne pas utiliser l’outil si l’interrupteur ne permet pas de passer de l’état de
marche à arrêt et vice versa. Tout outil qui ne peut pas être commandé par
l’interrupteur est dangereux et il faut le réparer.
c) Débrancher la fiche de la source d’alimentation en courant et/ou le bloc
de batteries de l’outil avant tout réglage, changement d’accessoires ou
avant de ranger l’outil. De telles mesures de sécurité préventives réduisent le
risque de démarrage accidentel de l’outil.
d) Conserver les outils à l’arrêt hors de la portée des enfants et ne pas
permettre à des personnes ne connaissant pas l’outil ou les présentes
instructions de le faire fonctionner. Les outils sont dangereux entre les mains
d’utilisateurs novices.
e) Observer la maintenance de l’outil. Vérifier qu’il n’y a pas de mauvais
alignement ou de blocage des parties mobiles, des pièces cassées ou toute
autre condition pouvant affecter le fonctionnement de l’outil. En cas de
dommages, faire réparer l’outil avant de l’utiliser. De nombreux accidents
sont dus à des outils mal entretenus.
f) Garder affûtés et propres les outils permettant de couper. Des outils
destinés à couper correctement entretenus avec des pièces coupantes
tranchantes sont moins susceptibles de bloquer et sont plus faciles à contrôler.
g) Utiliser l’outil, les accessoires et les lames etc., conformément à ces
instructions, en tenant compte des conditions de travail et du travail à
réaliser. L’utilisation de l’outil pour des opérations différentes de celles
prévues pourrait donner lieu à des situations dangereuses.
5) Maintenance et entretien
a) Faire entretenir l’outil par un réparateur qualifié utilisant uniquement des
pièces de rechange identiques. Cela assurera que la sécurité de l’outil est
maintenue.

Avertissements pour les rainure uses Fraiseuses
Lire tous les avertissements de sécurité et toutes les instructions, figures et
prescriptions fournis avec cet outil électrique. Ne pas suivre les instructions
suivantes peut donner lieu à un choc électrique, un incendie et/ou une
blessure sérieuse.
a) Utiliser l’outil électrique uniquement avec le protecteur en place. Le
protecteur doit être solidement fixé à l’outil électrique et placé en vue
d’une sécurité maximale, de sorte que l’opérateur soit exposé le moins
possible à la meule à tronçonner. Le protecteur permet de protéger
l’opérateur des fragments cassés et d’un contact accidentel avec la meule à
tronçonner.
b) N’utiliser que des meules à tronçonner diamantées pour votre outil
électrique. Le simple fait que l’accessoire puisse être fixé à votre outil
électrique ne garantit pas un fonctionnement en toute sécurité.
c) La vitesse assignée de l’accessoire doit être au moins égale à la vitesse
maximale indiquée sur l’outil électrique. Les accessoires fonctionnant plus
vite que leur vitesse assignée peuvent se rompre et voler en éclat.
d) Les meules à tronçonner diamantées ne doivent être utilisées que pour
les applications recommandées. P. ex. : ne pas meuler avec le côté de la
meule à tronçonner. Les meules à tronçonner sont destinées au meulage
périphérique. L’application de forces latérales à ces meules peut les briser en
éclats.
e) Toujours utiliser des flasques de meule non endommagés qui sont de
taille et de forme correctes pour la meule à tronçonner que vous avez
choisie. Des flasques de meule appropriés supportent la meule à tronçonner
réduisant ainsi la possibilité de rupture de la meule à tronçonner.
f) Le diamètre extérieur et l’épaisseur de votre accessoire doivent se situer
dans le cadre des caractéristiques de capacité de votre outil électrique. Les
accessoires dimensionnés de façon incorrecte ne peuvent pas être protégés ou
commandés de manière appropriée.
g) La taille du mandrin des meules à tronçonner, flasques ou tout autre
accessoire doit s’adapter correctement à l’arbre de l’outil électrique. Les
accessoires avec alésages centraux ne correspondant pas aux éléments de
montage de l’outil électrique seront en déséquilibre, vibreront excessivement,
et pourront provoquer une perte de contrôle.
h) Ne pas utiliser d’accessoire endommagé. Avant chaque utilisation
examiner les accessoires pour détecter la présence éventuelle de copeaux et
fissures. Si l’outil électrique ou l’accessoire a subi une chute, examiner les
dommages éventuels ou installer un accessoire non endommagé. Après
