Installation Instructions:
1. Flush the line thoroughly after all plumbing changes to prevent contaminates from entering the meter.
2. Install horizontally with the register facing up and inlet port facing the water supply line.
3. For outdoor installation, protect meter and the remote from direct exposure to the elements.
4. Protect meter from backflow of water opposite of indicted flow direction.
Helpful Hints:
1. All values used in a water line need to be operated slowly, and all electrically actuated valves should be slow
closing. This will help eliminate possible meter damage from water hammer in your system. Carlon offers an
excellent slow closing valve (SCV).
2. Install a strainer upstream of your water meter to protect the meter and any other in-line process equipment
from becoming jammed by particulate matter.

ORDERING INFORMATION: Select the meter model number from the Meter Selection Chart above.
Add a Gfor Gallon reading or a Cfor Cubic Feet reading or an Lfor Liters reading.
Example: 1½" Meter with Cubic Feet register = 150SSMR-C.
*Continuous Flow: The size of meter selected should be based upon continuous flow, GPM, as opposed to pipe size.
For example, if it is determined that continuous flow is 25 GPM, a 1“ meter should be selected rather than a ¾“meter.
