1 Operating Manual
1.1 General
Please read the information contained herein so that you can become familiar with your
device quickly and take advantage of the full scope of its functions.
Your Crema One will serve you for many years if you handle it and care for it properly. We
wish you a lot of pleasure in using it!
1.2 Information on this manual
These Operating Instructions are a component of the Crema One (referred to hereafter as
the Device) and provide you with important information for the initial commissioning,
safety, intended use and care of the device. The Operating Instructions must be available
at all times at the device. This Operating Manual must be read and applied by every
person who is instructed to work with the device: •Commissioning
•Operation •Troubleshooting and/or •Cleaning Keep the Operating
Manual in a safe place and pass it on to the subsequent owner along with the device.
1.3 Warning notices

2 Safety
This chapter provides you with important safety notices when handling the device.
The device corresponds with the required safety regulations. Improper use can result in
personal or property damages.
2.1 Intended use
This device is only intended for use in households in enclosed spaces for
•Preparation of coffee and espressos •Milling of coffee beans
•Pouring of hot water - • Preparation of milk foam
This device is intended for use in the household and for similar applications such as:
•in kitchens for employees in shops, offices, and other commercial areas;
•in agricultural estates; in B&Bs.
•by customers in hotels, motels and other residential establishments.
Uses for a different purpose or for a purpose which exceeds this description are
considered incompatible with the intended or designated use.
Do not chop very hard ingredients such as ice.

Warning
Danger due to unintended use! Dangers can emanate from the device if it is used for an
unintended use and/or a different kind of use.
Use the device exclusively for its intended use.
Observe the procedural methods described in this Operating Manual.
Claims of all kinds due to damages resulting from unintended uses are excluded.
The User bears the sole risk.
2.2 General Safety information
Please note
Please observe the following general safety notices
with regard to the safe handling of the device.
►Read all these instructions before using the appliance.
►Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be
performed by children. Children are not allowed to play with
the device. The appliance and its connecting cable must be
kept away from children.
►The appliance may be used by individuals with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of
experience and / or knowledge of their use if they are
supervised or have been instructed at to the safe use of the
appliance and have understood the resulting hazards.
►Examine the device for any visible external damages prior to
using it. Never put a damaged device into operation.
►If the connection lead is damaged, you will need to have a
new connection lead installed by an authorized electrician.
►Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in operation.
►Do not operate the Crema One if it is empty. This could
damage the device.
►Never fill the water tank beyond max-marking. Do ot use the
device in case of overflowing.
►Unplug your appliance as soon as you stop using it or before
cleaning it.

Please note
►All operations other than cleaning and usual maintenance
must be performed by an approved service centre.
►Use the appliance exclusively for the preparation of coffee
and grinding of roasted coffee beans, and also for pouring out
hot water and producing milk foam. Do not put any other
liquids (other than cold water) into the water tank or other
foods (other than coffee beans) into the Crema One
appliance.
►Do not leave the power cord hanging within children's reach.
►Do not disconnect the plug from the socket by pulling on the
cord. The power cord must never be near or in contact with
the hot parts of the machine, near a source of heat or over a
sharp edge.
►Do not add water in the appliance if it is still hot.
►Always keep the lid closed when the device is operating.
►Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the
manufacturer, may carry out any repairs that may be needed.
Improperly performed repairs can cause considerable
dangers for the user.
►Only customer service departments authorized by the
manufacturer may carry out repairs on the device during the
guarantee period, as otherwise the guarantee entitlements
will be null and void in the event of any subsequent damages.
►No coffee powder may be filled into the bean container.
►Defective components must always be replaced with original
replacement parts. Only such parts will guarantee that the
safety requirements are fulfilled.
►For your own safety, only use manufacturer accessories and
spare parts suited to your device.
►If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons
in order to avoid a hazard.

Please note
►Device is not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system.
►The device is not intended for grinding liquid or hot
ingredients.
►Switch off the device before pulling the plug.
►Make sure that the ambient temperature is above 0°C,
otherwise the device does not function properly.
►Always descale the device regularly to ensure optimum
performance and prevent malfunction.
►Make sure to cool down the device before cleaning or storing
it.
►The device may give off some smoke and smell when you
use for the first time because of oil on some parts, this will
disappear soon and is normal.
►Always remove the plug from outlet in case of any
malfunction, before filling and after use, or before cleaning.
►Use the grinder to grind roasted coffee beans only. Grinding
other food, such as nuts, spices or unroasted beans may dull
the blades and cause poor grinding or injury.
►Do not use any caramelized or sugar-glazed coffee beans.
Do not use green coffee (green or unroasted coffee beans) or
blends with green coffee. This could damage the appliance.
2.3 Sources of danger
2.3.1 Danger of injury
Warning
By careless use of the device risk of injury exist because of
sharp edges. Note the following warnings to avoid injury.
►Avoid contacting moving parts.
►Do not touch the inside of the grinder - risk of injury!
►Be careful during cleaning.

2.3.2 Risk of burning and scalding
Warning
The water heated in this appliance, the coffee and the
frothy milk can get very hot.
Please observe the following safety notices in order not to burn
or scald yourself or others.
►Do not keep any body parts under the spout / steam nozzle
while the appliance is in operation. A dirty spout / steam
nozzle may spatter hot liquid or steam. Always keep the
device clean, spout / steam nozzle clean.
►During operation, the outlet, steam nozzle, brewing unit,
coffee grounds container and drip trays can get very hot!
►Never touch the hot parts of the device!
►Please always try the temperature of the coffee, before
drinking. Temperature of the coffee is high. Handle the
container (cup) carefully to avoid scalding.
►Keep the lid of the bean container and the brewing unit cap
closed while the appliance is working. The brewing unit must
not be removed during operation, and also shortly after the
appliance has been operated.
►Caution: If you refill the water tank during the brewing
process, the brewing process automatically resumes after the
water tank has been replaced.
►Empty the drip trays carefully as the water contained therein
can get very hot. Empty the coffee grounds container carefully
as the coffee grounds contained therein can get very hot.
►Beware of the escaping steam and escaping water so that
you do not burn yourself. Don’t cover the outlet, steam nozzle
and the steam outlet.
►The appliance may only be used if the drip tray with the drip
grid and the inner drip tray with coffee grounds container are
correctly inserted.

2.3.3 Dangers due to electrical power
Mortal danger due to electrical power!
Mortal danger exists when coming into contact with live wires or
subassemblies! Observe the following safety notices to avoid
dangers due to electrical power:
►If the connection lead is damaged, you will need to have a
special connection lead installed by an authorized electrician.
►Do not operate this device if its power cable or plug is
damaged, if it does not work properly or if it is damaged or
has been dropped.
►If the power cable is damaged, it will need to be replaced by
the manufacturer or his service agency or a similar qualified
person, to avoid any dangers.
►Do not open the housing on the device under any
circumstances. There is a danger of an electrical shock if live
connections are touched and the electrical or mechanical
structure is altered. In addition, functional faults on the device
can also occur.
►Do not put the machine, power cord or plug in water or any
other liquid. Never clean the appliance in the dishwasher.
►Even when the appliance is switched off, voltage is present
inside the device as long as the mains plug is plugged into the
socket. The appliance is only disconnected from the power
supply when the mains plug is unplugged.
►Pull the mains plug before you remove or insert the water
tank. Pull the plug out of the mains socket after using the
appliance.
►Unplug the device from the mains socket before cleaning,
maintaining, dismantling or assembling the appliance.
►Never unscrew the appliance and do not make any technical
changes to it.

3 Commissioning
This chapter provides you with important safety notices during the initial commissioning of
the device. Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages:
3.1 Safety information
Warning
Personal and property damages can occur during commissioning of the device!
Observe the following safety notices to avoid such dangers:
Packaging materials may not be used for playing. There is a danger of suffocation.
Transport, unpack and use two persons to set down the device because of the heavy
weight of the device.
3.2 Delivery scope and transport inspection
As a rule, the Crema One is delivered with the following components:
•Crema One Drip tray with drip grid Microfiber cloth
•Coffee grounds container Internal drip tay Cleaning brush
•Lid of the bean container Brewing unit •Cover cap of the brewing unit
•3 bags with descaler operating instructions
Please note
Examine the shipment for its completeness and for any visible damages.
Immediately notify the carrier, the insurance and the supplier about any incomplete
shipment or damages as a result of inadequate packaging or due to transportation.
3.3 Unpacking
To unpack the device, proceed as follows:
•Remove the device out of the carton and remove the packaging material.
3.4 Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device against damages during transit. The packaging
materials are selected in accordance with environmentally compatible and recycling-
related points of view and can therefore be recycled.
Returning the packaging back to the material loop saves raw materials and reduces the
quantities of accumulated waste. Take any packaging materials that are no longer required
to “Green Dot” recycling collection points for disposal.
Please note
If possible, keep the original packaging for the device for the duration of the guarantee
period of the device, in order that the device can be re-packaged properly in the event of a
guarantee claim.

3.5 Setup location requirements:
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-
free operation of the device, the setup
location must fulfil the following
prerequisites:
•Only use this device on a flat, stable,
heat-resistant surface away from
water splashes and any heat
sources. Never use the device
outdoors and always place in a dry
environment.
•Do not set up the device in a hot, wet
or extremely damp environment or
near flammable material.
•Choose the setup location in such a
way that children cannot reach any
hot surfaces on the device.
•Allow 6” clearance around the appliance
•The electrical socket must be easily accessible so that the power lead can be
disconnected easily, in the case of an emergency.
•The installation and assembly of this device in non-stationary setup locations must be
carried out by specialist companies / electricians, provided they guarantee the
prerequisites for the safe use of this device.
3.6 Electrical connection
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the following
instructions must be observed for the electrical connection:
• Before connecting the device, compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on
the rating plate with those of your electrical network. This data must agree in order that
no damages occur in the device. If in doubt, ask your qualified electrician.
• The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out switch.
• The use of multiple plugs or gangs is prohibited because of the danger of fire that is
involved with this.
• Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not been installed under the
device or over hot or sharp surfaces.
• The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the device is connected to a
properly installed protective conductor system. Operations using an electrical outlet
without a protective conductor are prohibited. If in doubt, have the house installation
checked over by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer cannot be made responsible

The rating plate with the connection and performance data can be found on the bottom of
the unit.

4 Operation and Handing
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to operating the device.
Observe the following notices to avoid dangers and damages:
Warning
Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in operation, so that you can intervene
quickly in the event of dangers.

4.2 Assembly
Place the coffee grounds container on
to the inner drip tray and push it into
the appliance. Then insert the drip tray
with the drip grid.
Adjust the adjustable coffee outlet
according to the selected cups / cup
size. Fill the water tank with water and
insert it.
WARNING Crushing hazard!
►Be careful when you insert the coffee grounds
container and the drip trays.
►Do not touch the area behind
and above or behind
and beneath the adjustable
coffee outlet.Exclusively adjust
the coffee outlet as shown in the
photo.
►Exclusively remove the water tank as shown
in the photo. There is a risk of crushing
between the lid of the water tank and the water tank. See
photo.
Check that everything has been assembled correctly.

4.3 Control panel
Buttons: On/off switch
Latte macchiato function, two portions of strong espresso are prepared
Steam for the generation of milk foam Dispensing of hot water

Flashing: Water has to be added or the water tank is not positioned correctly.
Bean container is empty, beans must be refilled
constantly illuminated: Coffee grounds container is full, empty the container
Flashing: The container is not correctly inserted
Warning symbol, constantly illuminated: Brewing unit is not correctly inserted
Flashing: Cover cap of the brewing unit is not correctly closed
constantly illuminated: The appliance must be descaled
Flashing: Descaling process is running
constantly illuminated: The appliance is emptied and then switches itself off.
4.4 Before first use
Remove the water tank, coffee grounds container, the
inner and outer drip tray and clean it under running
water. Thoroughly dry all the components.
1. Turn the protective cap of the steam nozzle to the
left (look at drawing).
2. Push the protective cap down to remove the
protective cap .

3. Move the extension tube down and remove it. Clean the
protective cap and extension
under running and thoroughly dry
them afterwards.
4. Insert the extension tube with the
protective cap upwards again.
5. Turn the protective cap to the right
(look at drawing).
Assemble the appliance again.
Fill fresh water into the water tank. Remove the
water tank to this end.
NOTICE
►Don't fill the water tank if it is still in the appliance.
Place a vessel under the coffee outlet and the steam nozzle. Plug in the
mains plug. Press to turn on the device. The appliance rinses and water
is dispensed from the coffee outlet.
Keep the switch pressed and hot water is dispensed from the steam nozzle.
Press and at the same time for 5 seconds (until the device will beep 2 times)
and the outlet is rinsed. Press the when you want to stop this process press 2
times.The appliance switches itself off. Remove the vessel and pour the water away.
4.5 Preparation of espressos and coffee
Warning
Warning symbol: hot steam.
Caution hot steam can escape at device. Risk of burns.
Fill fresh water into the water tank. Remove the water tank to this end.
NOTICE
►Don't fill the water tank if it is still in the appliance.
►Do not use any unroasted, caramelized or sugar-glazed coffee
beans. Do not use any raw coffee or raw coffee blend.
Place a vessel under the coffee outlet. Fill coffee beans into the bean
container and replace the lid correctly.

Press to turn on the device. The appliance rinses and water is dispensed from the
coffee outlet. Then pour the rinse water away. Clean your vessel and place it under the
coffee outlet once more.
Press the espresso or coffee button and espresso or coffee are dispensed.
Please note
►Use only cold water.
►Tip: Pre-heat the cup if you want to enjoy your coffee at as hot a temperature as
possible.
►Do not exceed the maximum amount of water indicated on the scale of water tank.
►Wait a few minutes before brewing coffee again.
4.6 Save the coffee quantity
Press the espresso or coffee button once, press again and leave your finger
on the button until the desired amount of espresso / coffee has been brewed. Release the
button. The quantity is saved.
Please note
►Please ensure that the espresso / coffee or water does not overflow. You can stop the
flow by pressing the button once more.
4.7 Set the grinding degree
Please note
►Only adjust the grinding degree if the appliance is grinding coffee beans, otherwise the
grinder may be damaged
►A finer degree of grinding is recommended for a lighter roast. A coarser degree of
grinding is recommended for a darker roast.
Place a vessel under the coffee outlet.
Open the bean container lid. Proceed as described in “Preparation of
espressos and coffee".
Wait until the appliance grinds the beans. Set the grinder knob to the
desired level. Reattach the lid of the bean container.
4.8 Producing foaming milk
Place an empty vessel under the nozzle and press the button. The indicator ring
flashes and the steam nozzle is flushed through.

The indicator ring shines permanently following the completion of the rinsing process. Pour
the rinse water away and clean your vessel. Place a vessel with milk under the steam
nozzles ensuring that the extension tube is immersed 2" into the milk.. Wait until the device
beeps. Press once more to obtain hot steam to generate the milk foam until it
acquires the desired consistency. Stop obtaining steam with .
Warning
►Warning: The water will become very hot and is released from the nozzle with high
pressure.
4.9 Latte Macchiato
Place an empty vessel under the coffee outlet and adjust the
outlet according to the size of your glass.. Press to turn on
the appliance. The appliance rinses and water is dispensed from
the coffee outlet. Then pour the rinse water away. Then proceed
as described in “Producing milk foam“.Following this place the
vessel with the milk foam under the coffee outlet. Press the
button and a double portion of strong brewed coffee is
dispensed. You can enjoy the Latte Macchiato following this.
4.10Iced Coffee
Place an empty vessel under the coffee outlet. Press to turn
on the appliance. The appliance rinses and water is dispensed
from the coffee outlet. Then pour the rinse water away. Place a
vessel with the desired quantity of ice cubes under the coffee
outlet. Press the button and a double portion of strong
brewed coffee is dispensed. You can enjoy the Iced Coffee
following this.
4.11Production of hot water
Place an empty vessel under the coffee outlet. Press to turn on the appliance. The
appliance rinses and water is dispensed from the coffee outlet. Then pour the rinse water
away. Place an empty vessel under the steam nozzle. Press and hot water will be
dispensed as long as you press the button. You can now for example prepare tea with it.

4.12Save the hot water quantity
Press the once, press again and leave your finger on the button until the desired
amount of water is dispensed. Release the button. The quantity is saved.
Please note
►Please ensure that the water does not overflow. You can stop the flow by pressing the
button once more.
4.13Change the mode
You can set the device to different mode. The different mode are as follows:

* Pre-brewing: With less water pressure, the ground coffee is moistened and pre-brewed.
Then the device brews with normal water pressure and prepares the coffee.
Press button for 5 seconds then the will flash. Press the respective button for
the switch to the selected mode. For Example when switching to the Eco mode press the
button. Two signal tones sound. If the mode should be retained then press or
wait 5 seconds.
5 Cleaning and Maintenance
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining
the device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.
