EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE
ENERGY
Warning
Exposure to microwaves on the human body can result in
injuries.
Please observe the following safety notices in order not to
expose yourself or others to microwaves.
►Never operate the device when the door is open. Having a
faulty or manipulated safety switch results in the danger of
exposing oneself directly to the microwaves.
►Never position any items between the front of the oven and
the oven door and avoid any dirt deposits or cleaning
material residues directly on the sealing areas of the device.
►Do not use the device under the following circumstances:
– if the device door is warped
– if the door hinges are loose
– if there are visible holes or cracks on the housing,
on the door or on the walls of the cooking chamber
►Do not remove any of the coverings on the device.
►Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the
manufacturer, may carry out any repairs that may be
needed. Improperly performed repairs can cause
considerable dangers for the user.
►

Getting Started
Please observe the following general safety notices with
regard to the safe handling of the device.
►Examine the device for any visible external damages prior to
using it. Never put a damaged device into operation.
►If the connection lead is damaged, you will need to have a
new connection lead installed by an authorized electrician.
►Persons, who are not able to operate the device because of
any physical, mental or motor disabilities may only use the
device under the supervision or under the instructions of a
responsible person.
►Do not permit children to use the device, unless they are
supervised.
►Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in operation.
►Do not operate the oven if it is empty. This could damage
the device.
►The device is not intended for drying, warming up or heating
up living animals.
►Food thermometers are unsuitable to be used when the
microwave is in operation.
►Do not use the cooking chamber for storage purposes. Do
not leave any paper products, cooking utensils or foodstuffs
in the cooking chamber when the oven is not being used.
►Only qualified electricians, who have been trained by the
manufacturer, may carry out any repairs that may be
needed. Improperly performed repairs can cause
considerable dangers for the user.
►Only customer service departments authorized by the
manufacturer may carry out repairs on the device during the
guarantee period, as otherwise the guarantee entitlements
will be null and void in the event of any subsequent
damages.
►Defective components must always be replaced with original
replacement parts. Only such parts will guarantee that the
safety requirements are fulfilled.
2.1 Sources of danger
2.1.1 Danger of burns

The culinary items being heated up in this device as well as
the cookware that being used and the surface of the device
can become very hot.
Please observe the following safety notices in order not to burn
or scald yourself or others.
►When grilling with or without operating the microwave, the
cooking chamber, the grill element and the device door will
become hot!
►Use oven mitts when sliding in or removing items that are
being browned as well while foods/cookware are being
handled within the cooking chamber, whenever the grill is
switched on or just before it is switched on.
►Do not use the oven for deep-frying. Hot oil can damage
parts of the oven and the cookware and cause burns.
Warning
►Please bear in mind that the foods and liquids in the device
are mainly being heated when the microwave is in operation,
and not the container itself. Although the lid of a container is
not hot, the same amount of steam and spills can be created
on removing the lid as in a conventional cooking process
when you remove it from the device.
►Always check the temperature of the cooked food, especially
if you are heating up foods or liquids for babies. It is
advisable never to consume foods or liquids, directly after
they come out of the device. Wait a few minutes and stir the
food or liquid, to allow the heat to be distributed evenly.
►With certain foods, there is a danger of burns due to
superheating. With foods consisting of a mixture of fat and
water, such as broth, wait about 30 to 60 seconds before
removing the food from the device. This will allow the
mixture to settle. Thus, you avoid sudden bubbling up when
a spoon is inserted into the food or the liquid or after adding
a stock cube.
In order to prevent superheating, you can also place a metal
spoon into the cooking vessel prior to cooking. However,
bear in mind that the spoon must not make contact with any
parts of the device walls or the grill, as this could result in
damages to the device.
2.1.2 Danger of fire

There is a danger of fire due to the ignition of the content in
the event the device is not used properly.
Observe the following safety notices to avoid dangers of fire:
►Please bear in mind that the times for cooking, heating up,
defrosting using the device are frequently considerably
shorter than on a stove top or in the oven.
Leaving the device on for too long will result in foods drying
out and eventually self-igniting. There is then a danger of
fire!
The danger of fire is also present if bread, rolls, flowers or
herbs are being dried for too long.
Warning
►Do not warm up pillows or similar items filled with grains,
cherry pits or gel.
These items can ignite, even if they are removed out of the
device after they are warmed up.
►Do not warm up any alcohol in an undiluted state.
►Never the leave the device unsupervised if you are warming
up or cooking foods in disposable containers made of
plastic, paper or other flammable materials.
Disposable containers made of plastic must have the
properties shown under the heading “Notices on
microwave cookware”.
►Switch off the device or disconnect the power plug and keep
the door closed if you discover smoke, to smother the
flames.
►Never use the device to store or dry flammable materials.
2.1.3 Danger of explosion
Warning
There is a danger of explosion due to excess pressure that
is created in the event the device is not used properly.
Observe the following safety notices to avoid dangers of an
explosion:
►Never warm up foods or liquids in sealed containers or
bottles.
►Remove the sealing caps and nipples on baby bottles.
►Do not use dishes with hollow handles and buttons on lids
for cooking in which liquid can get inside the voids if these
voids are not sufficiently vented.

►Do not cook eggs in the shell or extremely hard boiled eggs
in the device as they can still explode, even after the
microwave operation has been completed.
►Remove twisted wire closures on paper or plastic bags so
that no excessive pressure can develop.
2.1.4 Dangers due to electrical power
Danger
Mortal danger due to electrical power!
Mortal danger exists when coming into contact with live wires or
subassemblies!
Observe the following safety notices to avoid dangers due to
electrical power:
►If the connection lead is damaged, you will need to have a
special connection lead installed by an authorized
electrician.
►Do not operate this device if its power cable or plug is
damaged, if it does not work properly or if it is damaged or
has been dropped. If the power cable is damaged, it will
need to be replaced by the manufacturer or his service
agency or a similar qualified person, to avoid any dangers.
►Do not open the housing on the device under any
circumstances. There is a danger of an electrical shock if
live connections are touched and the electrical or
mechanical structure is altered. In addition, functional faults
on the device can also occur.
3 Installation Manual
At CASO, we design our products with customer safety in mind. When using electrical
appliances such as this microwave oven, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
• Remove and safely discard any packing materials and promotional labels
before using the microwave for the first time.
• Packing materials are not toys. To reduce the risk of suffocation, remove and
safely discard the protective cover fitted to the power plug of this appliance.
• Do not place the microwave near the edge of a bench or table during operation.
Ensure the operating surface is stable, level, clean and dry.

• Always operate the microwave on a heat-resistant surface. Do not use on a
cloth-covered surface, near curtains or other flammable materials.
• Always use extreme caution when removing any of the accessories or disposing
of hot grease. Allow the microwave to cool before handling.
• A fire may occur if the microwave comes in contact with flammable material
such as curtains, drapes, walls, etc., when in operation.
• Do not place the microwave on or near a hot surface such as a hot burner or
oven.
• Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
• To protect against electrocution do not immerse the microwave, power cord or
plug in water or other liquid.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Some parts of the appliance, cookware or food can
become very hot. To prevent personal injury, always use pot holders, or
handles and knobs when applicable, when handling. Allow the microwave to
cool before handling.
• Extreme caution must be used when removing cookware and accessories.
• The glass of the microwave door has been specially treated to make it stronger
and safer than ordinary glass, however it is not unbreakable. If struck extremely
hard, it may break or weaken, and could at a later time, shatter without apparent
cause.
• The top of the microwave can become very hot during and after operation. Do
not store any item on top of the microwave.
• Do not place cardboard, plastic, paper, or other flammable materials that aren’t
labeled as microwave safe in the microwave.
• Caution should be exercised when using lids in the microwave, as pressure
build up in a covered pan or dish may damage cookware or cause hot
ingredients to leak or splatter.
• Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be put in the microwave as they may
present a fire or electrocution risk.
• Metal utensils such as knives should not be used to remove food residue from
the microwave’s interior. This can damage the microwave and presents an
electrocution risk.
• The use of any accessory attachments not recommended by CASO may cause
injuries or damage.
• This appliance is for indoor, non-commercial use only.
• Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose as
described in this booklet. Do not use in moving vehicles such as boats, motor
homes, aircraft, etc.
• Do not operate the microwave in any way other than that described in this
booklet.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
• Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and

knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instructions by a
person responsible for their safety.
• When the microwave is not in use or when left unattended, disconnect the oven
from the wall outlet.
• Before attempting to move, clean or store the microwave, or before assembling
or disassembling parts, turn OFF the microwave, unplug it from its outlet and
allow it to cool.
• Strictly follow the Care and Cleaning instructions on Page 26/27.
• Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Loose metal from the pad can touch
electrical parts, creating an electrocution risk.
• Do not store any materials other than the supplied accessories in the
microwave when not in use.
3.1 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
• This appliance is equipped with a power cord having a grounding wire with a
grounding plug. The appliance must be grounded using a properly grounded
3-hole outlet to reduce the risk of electrocution.
• It is your personal responsibility and obligation to have any 2-prong outlet
replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet if it will be used with this
appliance.
• Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from
the power cord or use an adapter.
• Consult a qualified electrician if the grounding instructions are not completely
understood, or if doubt remains as to whether the appliance is properly
grounded.
• The installation of a residual current device (safety switch) is recommended to
provide additional safety protection when using electrical appliances. We
recommend a safety switch with a rated residual operation current not
exceeding 30mA be installed. See a qualified electrician for professional
advice.
• Regularly inspect the appliance, its power cord and plug for damage. Do not
operate the appliance if damaged in any way or after any malfunction.
Immediately discontinue use of the appliance and call Customer Service.
• For any maintenance other than regular cleaning, call Customer Service.
For safety reasons it is recommended you plug your CASO appliance directly
into its own electrical outlet on a dedicated circuit separate from other
appliances. If the electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your
appliance may not function properly. Use in conjunction with a power strip or
extension cord is not recommended.
3.2 SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
Your CASO appliance is fitted with a short power supply cord as a safety
precaution to prevent personal injury or property damage resulting from pulling,
tripping or becoming entangled inalonger cord. Do not allow children to use or

be near this appliance without close adult supervision. If an extension cord is
used:
(1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at
least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
(2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
(3) The cord must include a 3-prong grounding plug.
3.3 Use of this manual
This manual provides important information on the initial setup, safe operation,
intended use, care and cleaning of the appliance. It also includes a helpful
troubleshooting section to address common questions that may arise during
operation. The manual should be read by anyone planning to use the appliance.
Please store this manual in a safe place near the appliance for easy reference.

3.4 Information on this manual
These Operating Instructions are a component of the microwave (referred to
hereafter as the Device) and provide you with important information for the initial
commissioning, safety, intended use and care of the device.
The Operating Instructions must be available at all times at the device. This
Operating Manual must be read and applied by every person who is instructed to
work with the device:

Cleaning
Keep the Operating Manual in a safe place and pass it on to the subsequent
owner along with the device.

4 GETTING STARTED with your CASO Microwave™

Please note:
►Check to make sure your microwave includes all its listed
components and that there is no visible damage.
►In case of missing components or damage resulting from
inadequate packaging or from transportation, please
immediately notify the carrier and the supplier.
4.2 Unpacking
To unpack the device, please proceed as follows:
Remove the device from the carton and remove the packaging.
Open the door of the microwave and remove the accessories
and packaging materials located in the cooking chamber.
Remove the accessories and packaging materials located in the
cooking chamber.
Remove the red adhesive strip on the floor of the cooking
chamber.
Do not remove the protective film from the inside of the inner
door!
Do not remove the film on the oven ventilation opening!
Remove the blue protective film on the device itself
shortly before setting up the microwave in the location
where it will be used to prevent scratches.
Please note:
►If possible, keep the original packaging for the duration of
the guarantee period in the event a return is necessary.
4.3 Disposal of the packaging
CASO believes in the importance of recycling and has selected
packaging materials that not only protect your appliance from
damage during transit, but can be recycled to minimize any
ecological impact.
Recycling the packaging materials preserves raw materials and
reduces waste. Take any packaging materials that are no
longer required to a recycling collection point for proper
disposal.

4.4 Setup
To ensure safe and trouble-free operation, please follow these
setup instructions:
(1) The device must be set up on a stable, flat, dry and heat-
resistant surface capable of supporting the microwave and any
food and cookware to be used with it.
(2) Choose a location where children cannot reach any hot
surfaces on the appliance.
(3) The microwave is not intended to be “built-in.”
(4) Do not set up the device in a hot or damp environment, or near
flammable material.
(5) To operate correctly, the appliance requires sufficient air flow.
Leave at least 8 inches of space above the oven, 4 inches
behind it and 2 inches on both sides.
(6) Do not cover up any of the appliance’s vents.
(7) Do not place items on top of the microwave.
(8) The outlet must be easily accessible so that the appliance’s plug
can be quickly disconnected in the case of an emergency.
(9) The setup of this unit in non-stationary locations (e.g. on boats,
aircraft, motor homes) must be carried out by qualified
electricians, provided they guarantee the prerequisites for the
safe use of this device.
(10) Wipe the interior of the microwave with a soft damp sponge
before first use. Dry thoroughly.
4.5 Installing the glass turntable
Assemble the glass turntable as follows:
1. Place the rolling ring in the base of the cooking chamber.
2. Insert the glass turntable so the groove underneath it fits in the
drive shaft at the base of the cooking chamber.
4.6 Information on microwave cookware
The ideal material for microwave cookware allows the
microwave energy to penetrate the container and heat the food.

►Please observe the following guidelines when selecting
microwavable cookware:
►Microwaves cannot penetrate metal. Therefore, you should
not use cookware made of metal or with metal trim.
►For microwave cooking, do not use any products made from
recycled paper, as they could contain tiny metal fragments,
which could spark and/or cause a fire.
►Use round or oval cookware instead of square or rectangular
cookware. Food can overcook in corners.
►Do not use aluminum foil unless in narrow strips to protect
sensitive areas against excessive heating. When using foil
as described, do not use too much foil and maintain a
distance of approx. 2 inches between the foil and the
cooking chamber walls. If any sparking occurs, stop cooking
and immediately remove foil.
The following table is intended as a basis for selecting the
correct cookware:

4.7 Operating elements and displays
Getting Started
Cooking Program Mode: This mode allows
you to select the cooking program from 8
different menus.
Display panel: Cooking time, Power Level,
function display and clock are displayed.
Power Level: Press to select the microwave
Power Level.
Clock Press to set the clock.
Weight/Adjust: Press to select the food’s
weight.
Quick Start: Press to set in 30 second
intervals.
Speed Defrost: Press to defrost based on the
time entered.
Auto Defrost: Press to defrost based on the
weight entered.
Start: Press to start cooking or to set the Quick
Start cooking
Stop/Cancel: Press once to stop the cooking
program and twice to delete all previous
settings prior to starting the cooking procedure.
Menu/Time dial: Turn to set the cooking time
or to choose the automatic menu program.
4.8 Signal tones
The appliance emits the following sequence of signal tones:
One signal tone: The entry is valid and has been accepted.
Two signal tones: The entry is invalid. Check the entry and try
again.
Four signal tones: The cooking time has ended.

5 Functions
5.1 Opening / closing door
+ Open door
Push the door release to open the door of the device. If the
appliance is switched on, the current cooking program will be
interrupted.
Please note
►Leave the door open for a moment before reaching into the
cooking chamber, to allow any accumulated heat to escape.
+ Close doors
Close the door until the door latch audibly locks in place. If a
current cooking program was interrupted as a result of opening
the door, it can be continued by pressing the Start button.
5.2 Start cooking after selecting a cooking program
After selecting a cooking program, press the Start button to
start that cooking program.
5.3 Quick start
Use this function to quickly program the oven for cooking at the
maximum Power Level.
Press the Quick Start button in quick sequence to increase the
cooking time. The maximum cooking time is 10 minutes. If you
press the button Quick Start once, the oven will work for 30
sec., if you press it twice, it works for 1 min, etc.
The oven starts automatically after 2 seconds if no other
buttons are pressed.
Once the cooking time is finished, four signal tones will sound
and END will appear in the display.

5.4 Stop cooking
In order to interrupt an ongoing cooking program:
3. Pres the Stop/Cancel button once. The current cooking
program will be stopped.
4. Open the door of the device. The cooking program that is in
use will be stopped.
Please note
To continue the interrupted cooking program, press the Start
button after closing the door.
5. To cancel the interrupted program, press the button
Stop/Cancel a second time.
Please note
Before beginning a different cooking process you must reset the
display by pressing the Stop/Cancel button.
5.5 Setting the clock
To set the clock:
Press the Clock button twice to switch the oven from the 24-
hour system to the 12-hour system.
+ Setting the hours
Turn the control dial Time/Menu until the correct hour is
displayed.
Press the Clock button to save the set hour.
+ Setting the minutes
After setting the hour and pressing the Clock button, turn the
Time/Menu control dial until the correct minute is displayed.
Press the Clock button again to save the set time.
