Many conventional indoor air cleaners rely on passing air through filters that work like sponges to capture contaminants.
However, like a sponge, filters become saturated and release concentrated contaminants back into the indoor environment.
Other air cleaning systems, such as ionizers and electrostatic units, produce and release dangerous ozone back into the air
you breathe. Finally, there is an answer to keeping your indoor air clean, so you and your family can breathe quality air down to
the last molecule.
Since 1996, the APS 2000 has been the number one most effective and thorough air cleaning appliance in
America thanks to its integrated state-of-the-art technology, known as photo-catalytic oxidation. Unlike other air cleaners that
collect and concentrate pollutants inside their filters, photo-catalytic oxidation was developed to actually eliminate con-
taminants from indoor environments. The photo-catalytic oxidation process attracts and draws indoor air contaminants
onto the reactor grid surface (1). The reactor grid is illuminated by a special ultraviolet light which activates the reactor grid (2).
The activated grid completely destroys the contaminants by converting the toxic compounds into the harmless by-products
of carbon dioxide and water (3). Photo-catalytic oxidation provides an absolute detoxification by eliminating rather than
concentrating the contaminants in your air like other air cleaners.
Revolutionary Photo-Catalytic Oxidation Hybrid Technology
In addition to the patented photo-catalytic oxidation technology, the APS 2000 inte-
grates anti-viral ultraviolet purification, and powerful HEPA filtration, making it unlike any
other air purification system available today. While the ultraviolet purification stage assists in
destroying harmful bacteria and viruses, the APS 2000 uses a hospital grade HEPA filter, removing
up to 97% of microscopic particles and airborne allergens as small as .3 microns (see illustration at
right).
Costing only pennies to operate full-time, twenty four hours a day, the APS 2000 is the only indoor
air quality product that removes all four sources of contaminants (particles, bioaerosols, gases, and odors).
It is the only product that combines air filtration, purification capabilities and gaseous elimination into
one integrated product.
It’s a fact: The APS 2000 cleans indoor air better than any other system you can buy!

Remember These Facts:
Photo-Catalytic Oxidation
literally destroys viruses, bacteria
and other harmful contaminants.
The APS 2000 is the only Photo-
Catalytic air purifying system available
in the world today and is the biggest
breakthrough in clean air in the last
twenty years.
STAGE ONE: Pre-filter Cleans the Air of Larger Dust Particles
A treated 5 micron pre-filter removes all particles from the air larger than 5 microns, extending the life of the HEPA filter
and protects the gas absorbing media from dust coating and fouling.
STAGE TWO: Dual Gas Absorption Layers Absorb Toxic Chemicals and Gases
A specially formulated gas absorption media absorbs automobile exhaust fumes, organic hydrocarbons, formaldehyde
from particle board used in home construction, paint solvents, chlorine, cleaning chemicals and other fumes until the Photo-
Catalytic converter destroys the pollutants.
STAGE THREE: Hospital Grade HEPA Filter Removes Allergens
A pleated 0.3 micron High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter with an extended area design removes allergens so
small they can only be seen with a microscope. This is the same filter media that hospitals use to remove airborne
bacteria from operating rooms
STAGE FOUR: Second Gas Absorption Layer Accelerates Acid Gas Removal
A second gas absorption layer with a surface coating of zeolite and potassium permanganate oxidizes acid gases found
indoors from sources like pets, cleaning chemicals and cooking odors.
STAGE FIVE: Germicidal Ultraviolet Light Destroys Bioaerosols - Bacteria and Viruses
Ultraviolet light 10,000 times the intensity of sun light kills viruses and bacteria too small to be filtered out by a HEPA fil-
ter. Utlraviolet technology combined with photo-catalytic oxidation is the most important feature in air purification
since germs are easily spread from one person to another by central heating and air-conditioning systems.
STAGE SIX: Photo Catalytic Oxidation Eliminates Pollutants From Home and Office Environments
Only Photo Catalytic Oxidation provides an absolute detoxification of the air stream, rather than changing the phase or col-
lecting and concentrating the contaminants like other air “cleaners”. The Photo Catalytic Oxidation reactor grid absorbs
indoor air pollutants including bacteria, viruses, and fungus on the grid surface which are reduced to carbon dioxide and
water vapor when illuminated by the Ultraviolet light. The Photo Catalytic Oxidation process has low power consump-
tion, long service life and low maintenance due to the self cleaning processing of eliminating indoor air contaminants.

Media Indicators
Easily monitor the life of both the HEPA and gas
filters as well as the UV bulb. Filters need to be
replaced once every two years and the UV bulb is
replaced once every year.
Air quality And Air Volume Indicators
Lights indicate the the relative toxicity of the air
and the overall volume of air passing through the
APS2000.
Air Volume Controls
Depending on the size of your room and the toxici-
ty of the air, the APS 2000 can be easily adjusted
to accommodate your needs.
Using State-Of-The-Art Photo Catalytic Technology, Has Created
The Most Advanced Home And Office Air Purification System In The World.
Let’s pick our favorite facts...
PHOTO~CATALYTIC PURE AIR PURIFIER
Thank you for purchasing a great American made health care product. The
Pure Air Purier is the most advanced Home and Ofce air purication system
in the world. The Pure Air Purier embodies unique air-purication technolo-
gies not found in any other air purier including utilizing Photo-Catalytic pro-
cess to clean the home and ofce down to the last molecule.
Photo~Catalytic Pure Air Purier Features:
Only the Pure Air Purier hybrid system has all these features:
• A quiet, energy-efcient backward-curved impeller that moves 265 cubic feet
of air per minute.
• An advanced electronic control system that monitors air quality, room occu-
pancy, air ow and volume, lter and ultraviolet lamp replacement time.
• A six-stage ltration system with gas-absorption media that absorbs toxic
gas, organic hydrocarbons, exhaust fumes, formaldehyde, cleaning chemi-
cals, low level ozone, unpleasant odors, and paint solvents.
• A hospital-grade three-stage HEPA lter removes allergens such as pollen,
mold fungal spores, tobacco smoke, insecticide dust, dust mites, and particles
down to 0.3 microns (0.00003 inch.)
• A photo-oxidation chamber with Germicidal Ultraviolet Light destroys Bio-
aerosols and reduces the spread of airborne disease in the home and ofce
environment. Ultraviolet light 10,000 times the intensity of sun light kills on
contact viruses and bacteria too small to be ltered out by a HEPA lter. Ultra-
violet technology combined with photo-catalytic oxidation is the most impor-
tant feature in air purication since germs are easily spread from one person
to another by central heating and air-conditioning systems.
• Photo-Catalytic Oxidation Eliminates Pollutants From Home and Ofce
Environments. Only Photo Catalytic Oxidation provides an absolute detoxi-
cation of the air stream, rather than changing the phase or collecting and
concentrating the contaminants like other air “cleaners”. The Photo Catalytic
Oxidation reactor grid absorbs indoor air pollutants including bacteria, viruses,
and fungus on the grid surface which are reduced to carbon dioxide and water
vapor when illuminated by the Ultraviolet light.

Set Purier For Room Size
1. Measure the room the Purier is to serve, multiplying length by width
to obtain a measurement in square feet (or square meters.)
2. Review the charts below to nd the room and identify the respiratory
condition the unit is to serve.
3. Use the “Heavy Duty” chart if you seriously suffer allergic reactions
from particulate matter (pollen, dust, dust mites, animal dander, etc.)
or airborne chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, cleaning solutions, etc.).
Use the “Light Duty” chart if the area you live in is unhealthy from time
to time, or you suffer mild allergies occasionally.
Select Operating Mode
To make your MODE selection, press the black SELECT button (gure 3) re-
peatedly until the appropriate light is “On” next to the desired operating mode.
AUTO MODE - This is the mode, most commonly used. In this mode the elec-
tronic sensors combines the real time chemical sensor with the blower speed.
If the chemical sensor detects an
unhealthful amount of chemicals
present in the air (indicated by the
red light on the quality scale) the
electronic controls will automati-
cally speed the blower up to the
next setting.

MAINTAINING THE PHOTO~CATALYTIC PURE AIR PURIFIER
What The Service Panel Indicator Lights Mean
Indicator lights on the Service Panel tell you if either the ultraviolet lamp, or the air
lters, will soon need to be replaced, or if they must be replaced before using the
Purier again.
UV Lamp Indicator Lights
The Ultraviolet lamp has a useful life of one year (approximately 9,000 active
hours) with a one month grace period.
Green light is On - the lamp has been in service for less than 12 months.
Yellow SERVICE SOON light is On - the lamp has been in service for more than
12 months. It’s time to order a new lamp.
Red SERVICE NOW light is On - the lamp has been in service for more than 13
months. The lamp may not be effective and must be replaced.
Filter Indicator Lights
The lters have a useful life of one year in a typical
residential environment. The lter service life span can
vary greatly depending upon the individual location and
application where the unit is placed.
It is recommended that when the FILTER service light
turns red and the LAMP light is green, the front grill
should be removed and the top pre-lter ONLY can be
cleaned with a vacuum hose attachment to remove the
collected dirt and debris. NOTE: Be careful not to scrap
or puncture the lter media when cleaning.
It is recommended that BOTH the UV lamp and lter
set be replaced at the end of 12 month operation when both service indicator
lights turn red. This will assure maximum air ow and air quality.
The FILTER lights on the Service Panel designate the following:
• FILTER Green “OK” light is On – The lters have been in service for less than
5 months from reset date
• FILTER Yellow “SERVICE SOON” light is On – The lters have been in service
for less than 6 months
• FILTER and LAMP Yellow “SERVICE SOON” light is On – The lters have
been in service for less than 12 months. It is time to order a new lter package.
• FILTER Red “SERVICE NOW” light is On – The lters have been in service for
6 months and only the top Green lter should be cleaned.
• FILTER and LAMP “SERVICE NOW” Red light is On – The lters have been in
service for 12 months and should be changed with the lamp.
air pollution. For example: high winds which increase airborne dust and pol-
len. Heavy room loading, such as parties and heavy smoking. Super-Mode
operation will increase blower speed approximately 25 percent above auto
mode setting.
ECONOMY MODE - This mode saves energy cost during hours when the
room is unoccupied. When people are moving in the room, operation is the
same as that in the Auto Mode. When no motion has been detected in the
room for 30 seconds, blower speed is reduced by 35 percent to save electric-
ity costs. The blower returns to normal speed when motion is again detected
in the room.
SLEEP MODE - This mode reduces the sound level by reducing blower speed
by 30 percent, while still purifying room air at 70 percent of normal while the
occupant sleeps.
Monitoring Operation
You can always monitor the quality of room air, and make sure that the
Purier is set to move a volume of air appropriate for present condi-
tions. Note that measurements are relative to the selected room size.
Make sure that the “Room Size” panel is always set for the room in
which the unit operates. “Quality” and “Volume” are shown on the In-
formation display.
Air quality is sensed by the chemical-detection sensor (see gure 1)
which continually evaluates air quality. Air quality is expressed by one of
ve lights expressing a range from GOOD to POOR.
Air volume is shown by one of seven lights
(gure 4) representing a range from greater than
normal air ow, to reduced air ow (energy-sav-
ing Sleep Economy Mode). e light shows that
air volume is just right for the selected room size.
You should also keep an eye on the Service Panel
which tells you if maintenance will soon be
required, or if maintenance is required for fur-
ther operation. e Service Panel is described in
Maintaining the Pure Air Purier.
