Power
The Staonary CorrReader performs an
inializaon sequence conrming the baery
level, SD card presence and valid programming. The GPS
then acquires satellites. When GPS locked and synchronized, the Staonary
CorrReader goes to Measurement Screen. If an error is encountered, a text
message will display on the screen.
Measurement Screen
The Staonary CorrReader obtains a GPS lock and
synchronizaon before displaying the Measurement
Screen, also all 3 LED’s will blink green. The Measurement
Screen displays the OFF, ON and AC readings along with
the local me and baery level.
At this me the 3 LED’s will turn o and remain o. The Staonary CorrReader
automacally begins capturing data and can now be le unaended.

There are three LED’s on the face that blink. The colour of the LED indicates
dierent operaonal states.
Staonary CorrReader’s LED’s do not stay on during unaended measurement to
conserve power. The LED’s are only acve during power-up and GPS acquision.

Field Use
Connect the black terminal/lead to a Cu/CuSO4 reference cell. Connect the red
terminal/lead to the pipe or test staon.
Turn the Staonary CorrReader on and wait for
the start-up checks and measurement screen
to appear. For proper cathodic protecon, the
reading should be negave; if posive, check
your wiring and/or recer output.
Do NOT survey during thunderstorms,
lightning may cause injury to personnel and/or
damage to the Staonary CorrReader.

Memory
Staonary CorrReader uses a MicroSD card to store programmed sengs and
data which must be installed for the CorrReader to funcon. To access the data,
turn the Staonary CorrReader on and connect to the computer with a USB
cable. The SD card will appear as a drive on the computer and les can be copied
o and on to the card.
The SD card contains three types of les, a conguraon le, calibraon le and
data les.
Conguraon le - program informaon
Data les - stored survey data
Conguraon File
CFG.TXT contains the programmed sengs. These can
be changed & saved in the same text le. If the le is
accidentally deleted, the Staonary CorrReader will
create another one with the last good sengs the next me it is turned on. The user must
set the same cycle/program the interrupters are set to.

Troubleshoong
Problem Possible Soluon
Staonary CorrReader won’t
turn on
Charge baery—plug in and press the power
buon
No GPS lock
Ensure the Staonary CorrReader is outside
with a clear view of the sky, move away from
tall buildings
Low or no DC voltage reading
Check all cable connecons
Remove half cell cap
Inspect test staon, test staon may be
damaged
Move to another test staon to conrm
AC reading above 15V Potenally dangerous area, disconnect and
follow company procedures
No computer communicaon
Turn the Staonary CorrReader ON—a
message will show on the CorrReader screen
Use a maximum USB cable length of 2m (6’)
Data Files
DATA####.CSV contains the survey data. A new data le is created every me
the CFG.TXT is changed. The le header contains informaon on the Staonary
CorrReader (serial number, etc) and cycle sengs.
USB Port
The USB port is located on the outside of the case, near the terminals. Use a
MiniB USB cable, 2m long maximum. The USB port provides access to the SD
card memory and charges the baery. For computer communicaon or charging
the Staonary CorrReader must be powered ON.
A dust cover is aached to the case to protect the USB port from dust, dirt, sand,
etc. under normal use. Ensure the cover is properly inserted into the USB port to
prevent damage.
Baeries
CorrReader is powered by an internal lithium ion baery. Baery is charged by
the USB port, 5V 500mA input. The CorrReader must be powered ON to charge.
The CorrReader will stay on and log connuously unl the Power buon is
pressed to turn it o or the baery is discharged.
If the CorrReader is stored for extended periods, it may not turn on. Plug the
CorrReader in for 24 hours and it will begin to work again. Always fully charge
the baery before pung it in storage to prevent problems.
