CATLER RECOMMENDS SAFETY FIRST
We understand the importance of safety and so from the initial design concept to production
itself we focus primarily on your safety. Nevertheless, we ask that you please be careful and
follow the following instructions when using electrical appliances:
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR KE 4014 KETTLE
• Before rst use,
make sure that the

on the unit bottom.
In case of any doubt,

• Do not operate the

Use the appliance

subjects on the lid.
• Do not touch the
appliance with wet or
damp hands.
• Do not touch hot
surface. Use handle
to manipulate the
appliance.
• If the appliance is in
operation, do not leave
it unattended.
• Always operate the
appliance on aat
surface. Do not operate
the appliance on
an inclined surface
and do not move
and/or handle it in
any manner during
operation.

• As hot water and steam
may cause burns, be
cautious when pouring
boiled water. Do not
pour water too fast.
• Do not wash the kettle,
base, mains cord and
plug under running
water and do not
immerse them in water
or any other liquid.
• Do note remove the
kettle from its base
while it’sturned on.
Before removing the
kettle from its base,
make sure that it has
been turned o.
• Do not open the
kettle’slid during
operation.
• Observe minimum and
maximum level marks
when lling the kettle
with water. If the kettle
is overlled, the boiling
water may splash out.
Do not handle the
kettle’slid while the
water is boiling.
• Avoid spilling water
or other uid onto the
mains cord and plug.
• Always turn the
appliance o and
disconnect the power
plug from the power
outlet whenever it is
left unattended, after
use, before you start
cleaning it or before
you take it elsewhere,
disassemble it,
assemble it or before
storing it.

• Do not use rough

Before rst use
Before rst use, remove all packaging and
advertising labels / stickers from the kettle.
Before using your kettle to prepare hot drinks
for the rst time, allow clean water to boil.
Fill the cattle with clean water, bring to aboil
and then pour the water out. Repeat this
procedure 3 to 4 times. The kettle is then
ready to be used for preparing hot drinks.
Your kettle will only operate correctly if
placed on its base connected to an electric
outlet and if the power button is in the on
position. As soon as the water boils, the
kettle will switch o automatically.
Heating water to arequired temperature
1. To ll the kettle with water, remove it
from its base and detach the lid. Fill the
kettle with the required amount of water.
Do not ll the kettle below the minimum
or above the maximum level mark.
Lack of water would lead to turning the
kettle o before boiling. If the kettle is
overlled, the boiling water might splash
out.
2. Put the lid back and make sure it’srmly
closed. Place the kettle on its base.
Connect the mains cord to apower
outlet.
3. An acoustic signal will sound. The LCD
displays“--”.
4. Use the +/- buttons to set the
temperature from 50 to 100°C in 5°C
steps. The initial temperature after
turning on for the rst time is 80°C.
5. Press the power button to start heating.
The button will be backlit in red.
6. As soon as the temperature inside the
kettle reaches 30°C, you will be able to
watch it rise until the set value has been
reached.
7. When the temperature inside the kettle
reaches the set value, an acoustic signal
will sound 5 times and the button will be
backlit in yellow.
8. Disconnect the mains cord from the
power outlet, remove the kettle from
its base and pour the water in prepared
cups.
If you need to turn the kettle o immediately,
press the power button. An acoustic signal will
sound and the heating process will stop.
NOTE
Fast selection - heating water to 100°C
1. If you need to heat water to 100°C,
proceed as follows:
2. Perform steps 1 to 3 from“Heating water
to arequired temperature”.
3. Hold down the + button for about
2 seconds. An acoustic signal will sound.
100°C will appear on the display.
4. Press the power button to switch the
kettle on.
5. If the power button is not pressed within
6 seconds, the kettle will be put into
standby and the LCD will show current
temperature.
Fast selection - heating water to 60 °C
If you need to heat water to 60 °C, proceed
as follows:
1. Perform steps 1 to 3 from“Heating water
to arequired temperature”.
2. Hold down the - button for about
2 seconds. Ashort acoustic signal will
sound. 60°C will appear on the display.
3. Press the power button to switch the
kettle on.
4. If the power button is not pressed within
6 seconds, the kettle will be put into
standby and the LCD will show current
temperature.

Fast selection - heating water to 80°C
If you need to heat water to 80 °C, proceed as
follows:
1. Perform steps 1 to 3 from“Heating water
to arequired temperature”.
2. Hold down the - and + buttons
simultaneously for about 2 seconds.
Ashort acoustic signal will sound. 80°C
will appear on the display.
3. Press the power button to switch the
kettle on.
4. If the power button is not pressed within
6 seconds, the kettle will be put into
standby and the LCD will show current
temperature.
The last set heating temperature will be stored
in the kettle’smemory. If you want to warm
up to the same temperature again, press the
power button. If you wish to heat to another
temperature, use the +/- buttons to set the
required temperature and press the power
button.
NOTE
If you need to check the set temperature during
heating, hold down the + or – button for
about 2 seconds. The set temperature will start
ashing on the display for about 6 seconds.
Then, the display will show the temperature
progress during heating.
NOTE
“Keep-warm” mode (temperature
keeping)
• The“Keep-warm” mode keeps the set
temperature for amaximum of
60 minutes. When this time has elapsed,
the kettle will automatically revert to
standby.
• The mode will be enabled automatically
when the heating has nished. The power
button will be backlit in yellow as long as
the“Keep-warm” mode is active.
• While the kettle is in the“Keep-warm”
mode, it will switch on and o regularly.
This is anormal state when the kettle
keeps the set temperature.
• To cancel the“Keep-warm” mode, press
the power button or remove the kettle
from its base.
• If the set temperature is within 90 - 100°C,
the water will automatically cool down
to 90°C and the kettle will maintain this
temperature (90°C) inside. As soon as the
temperature reaches 90°C, acoustic signal
will sound and the display will show 90°C.
This is acommon safety precaution to
prevent the water from boiling out and
possible damage to the kettle.
• When about 60 minutes have elapsed,
acoustic signal will sound 5 times and the
“Keep-warm”mode will turn o. The LCD
will show the current water temperature
inside the kettle. As the water
temperature inside the kettle drops, the
display readout will also decrease.
If you press the +/- button briey while in the
“Keep-warm” mode, the temperature the kettle
has been warmed up to will be ashing on the
display for about 6 seconds. Then, the display
will revert to the current temperature.
NOTE
Stand-by mode
The kettle will automatically switch to stand-
by mode after 30 hours of inactivity. If the
“Keep-warm”mode is enabled, the kettle will
not switch to standby until the“Keep-warm”
mode has been disabled.
To switch on from the standby mode, press
+/- buttons or the power button.

Overheating protection
If the water temperature exceeds the preset
level, the power button will go out, an
acoustic signal will sound 3 times and the
kettle will switch to standby. If such case,
disconnect the mains cord plug from your
electric outlet, empty the kettle, put it away
from its base and allow it to cool down for
about 20 minutes. Then, ll your kettle with
clean cold water, put it on its base and plug
the mains cord in the electric outlet.
Dry-boil protection
If the kettle recognizes no water inside, the
heating will stop. The power button will go
out and the kettle will turn o completely.
Asafety fuse will trip. Detach your kettle from
its base and rinse with cold water. Disconnect
the mains plug from the electric outlet, wait
about 5 minutes and then reconnect.
Heating element
If the heating element fails, the
appliance’selectric circuit will open and all
indicators will go out.“E1" will appear on the
display. No kettle features will be available.

KETTLE, BASE, MAINS CORD AND PLUG UNDER
RUNNING WATER AND DO NOT IMMERSE
THEM IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
Before cleaning your kettle, always
disconnect the mains cord from the electric
outlet rst.
Cleaning the outer case KETTLE
To clean the kettle’souter surface, please use
adamp cloth; to polish, use adry cloth.
For cleaning the outer case, do not use
chemicals, wire brushes or abrasive
detergents.
Removing mineral deposits
Tapped water may contain minerals that may
deposit inside the kettle and water gauge
and lead to colouration after some time. To
remove the deposits, proceed as follows:
1. Fill your kettle to 2/3 of its level with
1 portion of vinegar and 2 portions of
water. Boil the solution and leave stand in
the cattle overnight.
2. Empty your kettle and then boil clean
water twice. The kettle is then ready for
further use.
The base heating element is made of high
grade stainless steel. Brown stains that may
appear during use are mineral deposits from
the boiled water. This is no corrosion in any
case.
NOTE
Storage
Before storing your kettle, make sure
it’sturned on, clean and dry. Check that the
lid is closed properly. Wrap the mains cord
around the bottom of the base. Store your
kettle vertically and never put anything on
the lid.
