INTRODUCTION
TheCELMeshConnectISP/WNAUSBdongle(ZIC2410USB‐WNA‐1)coupledwiththeCELDevice‐
ProgrammerandCELPacketAnalyzersoftwaretoolscanserveasall‐in‐onedevelopmenttoolwiththe
pushofabutton.ThedongleiscapableofIn‐SystemProgramming(ISP)boththeCELMeshConnectIC
andMeshConnect‐basedmodules.ThedongleisalsocapableoffunctioningasaWirelessNetwork
Analyzer(WNA),orpacketsniffer,whendebuggingwirelessapplications.

notconnecttheMeshConnectISP/WNAdongletothecomputerpriortorunningtheUSBdriver
installation.TheUSBdriverinstallationmustbecompletedoutsideoftheCELsoftwaretools
installation.
NOTE:TheCELMeshConnectISP/WNAUSBdongle,whenoperatedinWNA‐mode,isonlycompatible
withCELPacket‐Analyzerv3.32orhigher.ThelatestversioncanbedownloadedfromtheCELwebsite
athttp://www.cel.com.
TheUSBdriverinstallationisathree‐stepprocess.ThefirststepdecompressestheUSBdriversand
copiesthemtoyourcomputer’sharddrive.ThesecondstepinstallstheUSBdrivers,suchthatwhena
validdeviceisdetectedthedriversareautomaticallyinstalled.Thefinalstepistheautomatic
installationofthedrivers.
DecompressingtheUSBDrivers
1. StartthedecompressionoftheUSBdriversbyexecutingtheCP2101_drivers.exeexecutablefile
locatedontheCD‐ROMat\ZIC2410\Tools\Others\CP210X_Driver\.ThescreeninFigure3will
bedisplayed.ClicktheNextbutton.

1. StarttheinstallationoftheUSBdriversbyexecutingtheSetup.exeexecutablefilelocatedinthe
C:\Cygnal\CP2101\WIN\directory(assumingthedefaultpathwasusedinStep3).
2. ThescreeninFigure8willbedisplayed.SelectthedestinationpathbyclickingtheBrowse
buttonandnavigatingtothedesiredtargetdirectory.BydefaulttheC:\Program
Files\Cygnal\CP2101USBtoUARTBridgeControllerisselected,thisguidewillusethedefault
path.Oncethetargetpathhasbeenselected,clicktheInstallbutton.

3. Dependinguponyourcomputer’sconfiguration,thescreeninFigure9mayappear(morethan
once).IfthedialogappearssimplypresstheContinueAnywaybutton.

OncetheUSBdriverhasbeensuccessfullyinstalledaVirtualCOMporthasbeencreated.Inorderto
interfacetothevariousfront‐endtools,theCOMportassignmentisneeded.TheWindowsDevice
ManagercanbeusedtoidentifytheassignedCOMport,aswellasverifythatthedrivershavebeen
properlyinstalled.TodeterminewhichCOMporthasbeenassignedtotheCELMeshConnectISP/WNA
USBdongle,pleasefollowthestepslistedbelow:
1. Right‐clickontheMyComputericononyourcomputer’sdesktop,ortheMyComputerentry
fromtheStartMenu.
2. SelectPropertiesandtheSystemPropertieswindowwillbedisplayed.
3. ClickontheHardwaretabandthenclickontheDeviceManagerbutton.TheDeviceManager
willbedisplayed.
4. Scroll‐downandexpandthePorts(COM&LPT)section.Oneoftheitemsinthelistofavailable
portsshouldreadCP210xUSBtoUARTBridgeController(COM#),where#istheassignedCOM
port.ThescreenshotshowninFigure16hasbeenassignedtoCOM4.
