You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions,
operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep your invoice with this
manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover. Keep the manual and
invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: When using tool, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this tool!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Observe work area conditions. Do not use machines or power tools in damp or wet
locations. Don’t expose to rain. Keep work area well lighted. Do not use electrically
powered compressors in the presence of ammable gases or liquids.
3. Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control. Protect others in the work area from debris
such as chips and sparks. Provide barriers or shields as needed.
4. Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry location to inhibit
rust. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of children.
5. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment
to do the work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain applications for which this
tool was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was
intended. Do not modify this tool and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it
was not intended.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in
moving parts. Protective, electrically non-conductive clothes and non-skid footwear
are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair.

7. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety
goggles and hearing protection. Wear a full face shield if you are producing
metal lings or wood chips. Wear an ANSI approved dust mask or respirator
when working around metal, wood, and chemical dusts and mists.
8. Do not
overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Do not reach over or across
running machines or air hoses.
9. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean for better and safer performance. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect tool cords and air hoses
periodically and, if damaged, have them repaired by an authorized technician. The
handles must be kept clean, dry, and free from oil and grease at all times.
10. Disconnect air supply. Disconnect air hose when not in use.
11. Remove adjusting wrenches. Check that adjusting wrenches are removed from the
tool or machine work surface before operating the tool.
12. Avoid unintentional starting. Be sure the trigger is released when not in use and
before plugging in. Do not carry any tool with your nger on the trigger, whether it is
plugged in or not.
13. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any tool
when you are tired.
14. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged
should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts; any broken parts
or mounting xtures; and any other condition that may affect proper operation. Any part
that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualied technician. Do
not use the tool if any switch does not turn On and Off properly.
15. Use clamps (not included) or other practical ways to secure and support the
workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is
unstable and may lead to loss of control.
16. Never lay the tool down until it has come to a complete stop. Moving parts can
grab the surface and pull the tool out of your control.
17. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories intended for
use with this tool. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
18. Do not operate tool if under the inuence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels
if taking prescription medicine to determine if your judgement or reexes are impaired
while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the Air Angle Grinder.
19. Maintenance. For your safety, maintenance should be performed regularly by a
qualied technician.

20. Compressed air only. Use clean, dry regulated, compressed air at 90 PSI. Never
use oxygen, carbon dioxide, combustible gases, or any other bottled gas as a power
source for this tool.
21. WARNING: The brass components of this product contain lead, a chemical
known to the State of California to cause birth defects (or other reproductive
harm). (California Health & Safety code § 25249.5, et seq.)
22. Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction
manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It
must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which
cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
23. WARNING! All accessories for this tool must be rated for at least 11,000 RPM.
Accessories running over their rated speed can y apart and cause injury.
24. Use only grinding wheels having a 5/8” diameter arbor size.
25. WARNING! Never install a carbide tipped or steel circular saw blade for use in
this tool. Never install a wood carving blade, carving disc with chain saw cutters,
or a cutting carving disc on this tool.
26. WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities, contains chemicals known [to the State of California] to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals
are: Lead from lead-based paints, Crystalline silica from bricks and cement or other
masonry products, Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber. Your risk
from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To
reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with
approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to
lter out microscopic particles. (California Health & Safety Code § 25249.5, et seq.)
Note: Performance of the compressor (if powered by line voltage) may vary depending on
variations in local line voltage. Extension cord usage may also affect tool performance.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any
parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of
this manual as soon as possible.

SETUP
Recommended Air Line Components
Air Angle
Grinder Air
Compressor
For best service you should incorporate an oiler, regulator, and inline lter, as shown in
the diagram above. Hoses, couplers, oilers, regulators, and lters are all available at Harbor
Freight Tools.
Note: If you are not using an automatic oiler system, before operation, add a few drops of
Pneumatic Tool Oil to the airline connection. Add a few drops more after each hour of
continual use.
1. Connect the Male Coupler Plug (58) to the Air Inlet (55). First, wrap the Male Coupler
Plug (58) with pipe thread seal tape before threading it into the Air Inlet.
2. Set the air pressure on the regulator to 90 PSI. Do not exceed the recommended
air pressure of 90 PSI.
3. Check the air connection for leaks. Disconnect from the air source.
ASSEMBLY
Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the
Assembly Diagram on page 8 of this manual.
1. WARNING! Make sure the Power Switch of the tool is in its “OFF” position and that
the tool is disconnected from its air source before making any adjustments to the tool.
Installing the Handle
1. Disconnect the air hose from the tool.
2. To attach the Handle (6) directly onto the Air Angle Grinder, thread the Handle (6) into
the hole on the side of the Air Angle Grinder-see Assembly diagram.

Replacing the Grinding Disc

Use extreme caution when handling and replacing the Grinding Disc (6). Wear gloves
and follow all safety warnings.
2. Disconnect tool from air supply.
3. Insert the end prong of the Wrench (57) onto the Nut on the Grinding Disc.
4. Slide the Spanner (56) under the Guard (18) and onto the Nut beneath the Grinding
Disc. Holding the Spanner rmly, rotate the Wrench (57) on the Nut counterclockwise
to remove-see Figure 1.
5. Place a new Grinding Disc on the Spindle and replace the Nut on top of the Grinding
Disc. Slide the Spanner onto the Nut below the Disc Holder, and place the Wrench
(57) onto the top Nut. Hand tighten rmly-see Figure 1.
6. Note: The Guard (18) must always be in place when operating this tool.
OPERATION
1. Turn the air compressor (not included) on and allow the air tank to come up to pressure.
Set the compressor output regulator to no more than 90 PSI.
2. Make sure the Trigger (45) of the Air Angle Grinder is in its OFF (open) position. Then,
connect an air hose (not included) to the previously installed Quick Connector of the tool.
3. Attach the air supply hose (not included) to the tool Air Inlet (55).
4. Select an area on the workpiece to be ground. Squeeze the Trigger (45) to turn on
the Air Angle Grinder. Make sure the Grinding Disc is not touching any surface before
you turn on the tool.
5. Place the revolving Grinding Disc on the workpiece surface. Then, move the Air Angle
Grinder gently around the area to remove the residue. To increase the rate of revolutions
(RPM) of the Air Angle Grinder, squeeze the Trigger (45) harder.
6. To decrease the rate of revolutions, relax pressure on the Trigger.

7. Hold the Air Angle Grinder rmly. Apply light pressure to the workpiece. Do not apply
heavy pressure, as damage to the surface area may result.
INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
1. Make sure your Air Angle Grinder is disconnected from the air hose before attempting
any maintenance.
2. Wipe the Air Angle Grinder down with a lint free cloth after each use.
3. If you do not use an inline oiler/lter system, lubricate the tool daily by holding it so that
the Inlet (55) is facing up. Squeeze the Trigger (45), and place one or two drops of oil
into the Air Inlet (55).
4. Store in a safe and dry location out of the reach of children.

death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or
consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do

the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS
EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
