The Model 118S features an 18-inch transducer with a cast
aluminum frame designed to support the system's huge
magnet structure/voice coil architecture, plus the high
power handling requirements typically encountered in live
sound reinforcement applications. This frame creates a more
reliable, robust subwoofer system designed to withstand
abuse.
Built For The Road
Designed to withstand the rigors of the road, all enclosures
feature heavily braced, 18mm, plywood construction;
abrasion-resistant, low pilling black carpet and VegaGripTM
handles for easy transport. Bottom line… the Intense Series

34mm HF Compression Driver
The 34mm titanium High Frequency compression drivers
found in the Intense Series 152 and 252 benefit from an
optimized dome geometryand phase plug design that
combine to eliminate phase distortion. Coupled with the
HighRoad horn's carefully crafted throat contour, the result is
controlled directivity [moreaccurately focused sound] and
smooth response.

With its 34mm titanium High Frequency compression driver,
our HighRoad horn features a larger diaphragm than the
competition. You get higher SPL with lower distortion, and
since the crossover in the 152/252 runs at lower frequencies,
you'll hear improved off-axis response and increased
mid-range vocal intelligibility.
