AFT VANITY - MAINTENANCE
1. Caution
A. Vanity cabinets incorporating electrical components must have the electrical wire bundle(s) properly
routed and secured.
(1) Verify the appropriate circuit breaker is disengaged before performing maintenance on any electri
cal components or wiring.
(2) Secure and protect electrical wires to prevent fraying and contact with moving parts such as
drawers and hardware.
(3) Ensure clearance between electrical wiring and heat generating components.
(4) Ensure electrical wiring is not crushed or pinched between the cabinetry and the airplane structure
during installation of the cabinetry.
(5) Ensure electrical wiring insulation is not frayed and bare wires are repaired or replaced. Wire
bundles should be properly routed using grommets, necessary clamps and tie-straps.
2. Removal/Installation (See Illustration)
A. Remove Aft Vanity.
(1) Disconnect electrical power.Empty water tank in closet. Disengage VANITY circuit breaker located
in the power junction box.
(2) Remove bolts, screws and washers securing the aft vanity components, and the attach brackets.
NOTE: It may be necessary to remove carpet before removing bolts.
(3) Move vanity inboard by first tilting the top inboard, then move the bottom inboard enough to discon
nect electrical wiring and remove drain hose. Tag and disconnect electrical wiring. Disconnect
hoses, then remove vanity from airplane.
B. Install Vanity.
(1) Position vanity components in airplane near the installed position.
(2) Identify and connect electrical wiring.
(3) Connect water hoses.
(4) With top of vanity tilted inboard, place the bottom in against the wall, then tilt the top back into
position.
(5) Install bolts, screws and washers securing vanity in place.
(6) Engage Vanity circuit breaker located in the left power junction box and check electrical compo
nents.
(7) Fill water tank, check for leaks.
3. Inspection/Check
A. Inspect Vanity.
(1) Inspect vanity for nicks, cracks, dents and security of installation.
(2) Check doors and drawers for proper operation.
(3) Check switches and controls for evidence of arcing, shorts or overheating.
Check controls for proper operation.
(4) Check heated drains for security, damage and proper operation.
(5) Check plumbing, look for leaks or corrosion.
