UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control can be programmed to activate
up to two products, such as a garage door opener,
gate operator, or commercial door operator. Each
button on the remote control works independently
of the other and must be programmed separately.
The images throughout this manual are for
reference only and your product may look different.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or
DEATH from a moving gate or door:
• ALWAYS keep remote controls out of reach
of children. NEVER permit children to
operate, or play with remote control
transmitters.
• Activate gate or door ONLY when it can be
seen clearly, is properly adjusted and there
are no obstructions to door travel.
• ALWAYS keep gate or door in sight until
completely closed. NEVER permit anyone to
cross path of moving gate or door.
Read instructions thoroughly BEFORE
beginning. If using the Universal
Remote Control with residential door
openers, the remote control must be
used only with door openers
manufactured after 1993 that utilize photoelectric
sensors. The photoelectric sensors are always
located on or near the bottom of the door track.

GETTING STARTED
Determine if the product you are programming the
remote control to has a Program/LEARN button or
DIP SWITCHES. The Program/LEARN button or DIP
SWITCHES are located either on the product or in
an external receiver on or near the product. The
following instructions are for a garage door opener
with a Program/LEARN button. For DIP SWITCH
programming instructions or additional help please

PROGRAMMING
Remove the cover. Press and hold the
program button until the LED turns on.

Press and release the Program/LEARN button
on your garage door opener.

Select a button to program. Press and release
the button the specified number of times
according to the chart on the following page.
Make sure the LED stops flashing between
each press of the button. The garage door
opener will respond by clicking, blinking, or
activating.

TEST
Test the remote control by pressing the button. If
the garage door opener does not activate, repeat
the programming steps or visit
www.chamberlain.com/klik3 for additional
instructions.
To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or
DEATH:
• NEVER allow small children near batteries.
• If battery is swallowed, immediately notify
doctor.
To reduce risk of fire, explosion or chemical
burn:
• Replace ONLY with 3V CR2032 coin
batteries.
• DO NOT recharge, disassemble, heat above
212°F (100°C) or incinerate.
Dispose of batteries properly.

PASOS INICIALES
Confirme si el producto para el que programará el
control remoto posee un botón de programación o
LEARN, o microselectores. El botón LEARN o de
programación, o los microselectores pueden

suelte el botón la cantidad de veces indicada
en la tabla de la siguiente página. El LED debe
dejar de parpadear después de cada vez que
oprime el botón. El abre-puerta de garaje
responderá con un clic, parpadeando
o activándose.
