LIMITED WARRANTY
Champion Industries (herein referred to as 'The Company'), 3765 Champion Blvd., Winston-Salem, North Carolina
27105, and 2674 N. Service Road, Jordan Station, Ontario, Canada, L0R 1S0, warrants machines, and parts, as set out
below.
Warranty of Machines: The Company warrants all new machines of its manufacture bearing the name 'Champion
and installed within the United States and Canada to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one
(1)yearafterthedateofinstallationorfteen(15)monthsafterthedateofshipmentbyTheCompany,whicheveroccurs
rst.[Seebelowforspecialprovisionsrelatingtoglasswashers.]WarrantyregistrationmustbesubmittedtoTheCompany
within ten (10) days after installation either online on the Champion Industries website (http://www.championindustries.
com or by the fax form provided at the front of this manual. The Company will not assume any responsibility for extra
costs for installation in any area where there are jurisdictional problems with local trades or unions.
If a defect in workmanship or material is found to exist within the warranty period, The Company, at its election, will either
repair or replace the defective part or accept return of the machine for full credit; provided; however, as to glasswashers,
The Company’s obligation with respect to labor associated with any repairs shall end (a) 120 days after shipment, or (b)
90daysafterinstallation,whicheveroccursrst.IntheeventthatTheCompanyelectstorepair,thelaborandworkto
be performed in connection with the warranty shall be done during regular working hours by a Champion authorized ser-
vice technician. Defective parts become the property of The Company. Use of replacement parts not authorized by The
Company will relieve The Company of all further liability in connection with its warranty. In no event will The Company’s
warranty obligation exceed The Company’s charge for the machine. The following are not covered by The Company’s
warranty:
a. Lighting of gas pilots or burners.
b. Cleaning of gas lines.
c. Replacement of fuses or resetting of overload breakers.
d. Adjustment of thermostats.
e. Adjustment of clutches.
f. Opening or closing of utility supply valves or switching of electrical supply current.
g. Cleaning of valves, strainers, screens, nozzles, or spray pipes.
h. Performance of regular maintenance and cleaning as outlined in the operator’s guide.
i. Damages resulting from water conditions, accidents, alterations, improper use, abuse,
tampering, improper installation, or failure to follow maintenance and operation procedures.
j. Wear on Pulper cutter blocks, pulse vanes, and auger brush.
Examples of the defects not covered by warranty include, but are not limited to: (1) Damage to the exterior or
interiornishasaresultoftheabove,(2)Usewithutilityserviceotherthanthatdesignatedontheratingplate,
(3) Improper connection to utility service, (4) Inadequate or excessive water pressure, (5) Corrosion from
chemicals dispensed in excess of recommended concentrations, (6) Failure of electrical components due to
connection of chemical dispensing equipment installed by others, (7) Leaks or damage resulting from such
leaks caused by the installer, including those at machine table connections or by connection of chemical
dispensing equipment installed by others, (8) Failure to comply with local building codes, (9) Damage
caused by labor dispute.
Warranty of Parts: The Company warrants all new machine parts produced or authorized by The Company to be free
from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 90 days from date of invoice. If any defect in material and work-
manship is found to exist within the warranty period The Company will replace the defective part without charge.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. THE COMPANY’S WARRANTY IS ONLY TO
THE EXTENT REFLECTED ABOVE. THE COMPANY MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED, TO ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS OF PURPOSE. THE
COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. THE REMEDIES SET
OUT ABOVE ARE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES FOR ANY DEFECTS FOUND TO EXIST IN THE COMPANY’S’
DISHWASHING MACHINES AND THE COMPANY’S PARTS, AND ALL OTHER REMEDIES ARE EXCLUDED,
INCLUDING ANY LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTALS OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
The Company does not authorize any other person, including persons who deal in Champion dishwashing machines
to change this warranty or create any other obligation in connection with Champion dishwashing machines.

OPERATION SEQUENCE
1. Check chemical containers.
2. Turn main power and water supply on. Push dishwasher green power button on.
3. 'CLOSE DOOR TO FILL' appears. Red door icon displays if door is open. Close door.
4. 'FILLING' is displayed. Blue bars indicate water level. Red wavy lines indicate
tank and booster heat are on.
5. Prepare a rack of soiled wares for insertion into the machine.
6. 'TOUCH HERE TO SELECT CYCLE' appears.
7. Touch the yellow bar to select 1, 2, 4, or 6 minute cycle.
8. Check wash tank temperature to ensure it is a minimum of 150ºF/65.5ºC.
9. Open door and insert rack of soiled wares. Close doors.
10. Blue 'WASHING' bar appears with a block at right indicating the selected time.
11. Machine begins cycle. Machine washes for programmed time.
12. Red 'RINSING' BAR appears. Ensure the Rinse Temp is a between 180-195ºF/82.2-90.5ºC.
13. Checknalrinsetemperaturegauge,(topofmachine),readstheproperowingpressure
listed on the machine data plate located at bottom front corner of front panel.
14. Yellow 'DWELLING' bar appears indicating machine is building temperature for sanitizing.
15. 'TIME REMAINING' indicates the time remaining in the total wash cycle.
16. 'SLEEP' appears if the machine is idle for an extended time. Touch the screen to start machine.
17. TODRAINTHEMACHINE:Pressthegreenpowerswitcho.Themachinewillautomatically
drainfor10minutes.Pressingthepowerswitchonandimmediatelyowillinitiateanother
10 minute drain cycle.

CAUTION:
Warewashing chemicals are supplied by others. Always follow supplier's instructions for
handling and use of chemicals.
Care and Use of Warewashing Chemicals
• A water supply with a water hardness of 3 grains/US Gal - 0.83 Imp. Gal - 5/3mg/L
or less is highly recommended.
Recommended Water Hardness
DETERGENT REQUIREMENT:
Use a commercial grade NON-CHLORINATED liquid detergent in the dishwasher.
Consult the chemical supplier for the rinse-aid requirements.

1. Install the pump strainer in guide rails, (Fig.1).
2. Install the center spacer plate in the tank slot.
3. Install the two scrap baskets, (Fig. 1).
4. Hold the upper wash and rinse arms in place and secure with the rinse arm pin.
5. Place lower wash arm then rinse arm and secure with the rinse arm pin, (Fig. 2).
Repeat for upper wash and rinse arms.
To assemble the dishwasher:

• Wares should be scrapped and rinsed to remove large food particles and debris, (Fig. 3).
• Loadplatesinpegracks,bowlsandcupsinat-bottomracks,andglassesinaglassrack.
• Loadsilverwareinasinglelayerinaat-bottomrack.
• Loadpots,pans,andutensilsupsidedowninaat-bottomrack.
• Load bake sheets and trays on the short edge in a bake sheet rack.
• Do not overload dish racks and only wash one dish rack at a time.

8. Insert the dish rack into machine and close doors. 'WASHING' appears in the message bar
and machine begins to wash. A block, (a), with 'CYCLE 1 MINUTE' is displayed. The block
may be pressed to advance the time from 2, 4, or 6 minutes during the cycle.
9. 'RINSING' appears in the message bar at the end of the wash cycle. The rinse temperature,
(a), must be between 180-195ºF/82.2-90.5ºC to achieve proper sanitization. 'TIME
REMAINING' indicates the time left in the total cycle. Refer to Cycle Times on page 3 for
time increments.
10. 'DWELLING' appears in the message bar when the rinse cycle time ends. The wash
pumpandnalrinsesprayareoduringthistime.Opendoorsandremovedishrack.
11. OPTIONAL VHR MACHINES ONLY: After the dwell cycle, VHR machines display
'RECOVERY' in the message bar for 30 seconds as a vent fan cools and exhausts air
from the wash cabinet. Open doors and remove dish rack when the door latch unlocks.
12. The display screen returns to the start point for the next cycle. Note the red door icon
indicates the door is open.
13. The display indicates 'SLEEP' if the machine is idle for an extended period of time. The
tank and booster heat de-energizes to conserve energy. Touch the screen to wake up.
If 'Cycle 1 Minute' is selected during a previously selected 'Cycle 2 minute' selection,
the cycle will complete a 2 minute wash cycle instead of restarting a 1 minute cycle.

Water Refresh
1. The dishwasher cycle time is going to extend for several minutes.
2. As it does, the drain valve opens at beginning of rinse for 15 secs. of the dwell time.
Thewaterlevelinthetankwillbelowbyone-third.Theupperoatwillbelow.
3. Duringnextcycle,thellwillcomeonandreplenishthewaterlevel.
4. The booster temperature will be low and the machine will enter a rinse sentry mode for
ashorttimeuntilboostertemperatureissatised.
5. The Main screen will display 'WATER REFRESH'.
6. Themachinethendrains,rellsandwashesnormally.
WATER REFRESH: The Water Refresh feature ensures wash tank water remains clean
by periodically draining one-third of the water in the wash tank and replacing with fresh water.

Cleaning
CLEANING
To clean the dishwasher:
1. Push the power button OFF. The electric drain valve will open and the machine will drain.
The drain valve will remain open for 10 minutes. Refer to Appendix A for instructions to
manuallyopenthedrainvalve.Pushingthepowerbuttononandthenowillopenthedrain
valve for another 10 minutes.
2. Openthedoorandushtheinteriorwithfreshwater.
3. Removetheupperandlowerwashandrinsesprayarmsandushwithcleanwater.
4. Check the rinse spray arm nozzles. If necessary, remove the end plugs and clean the
nozzles with a piece of wire. Flush the arms clean and replace the end plugs.
5. Removethescrapscreensandpumpstrainer.Flushandbackushthescreensinasink.
Do not strike the screens against hard surfaces.
6. Clean the drain in the bottom of the wash tank.
• Clean the machine at the end of each meal period or after every 8 hours of continuous
operation and at the end of the day.
CAUTION:
Dishwasher surfaces may be hot. Use caution when cleaning the machine.

1. Clean the drain in the bottom of the wash tank.
2. Cleantheoatswitch.
3. Wipe the interior with a soft cloth.
4. Reinstall the scrap screens and spray arms making sure the spray arms spin freely.
5. Wipe the machine exterior clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
DO NOT FLUSH THE EXTERIOR OF THE MACHINE WITH WATER.
6. Leave the doors open to aid overnight drying.

Cleaning
DELIME
• Deliming removes mineral deposits from the machine with a deliming chemical.
• Time intervals between delime operations are pre-programmed in the machine and are
adjustable by a supervisor or authorized service technician.
• The deliming process is automatic after the chemical is added to the machine.
CAUTION: Follow the chemical supplier's use and handling instructions.
Wear protective clothing, including eye protection when handling chemicals.
DELIME
1
NOTE: Press and hold the red button for three seconds to cancel delime and return to
the main screen.

1. A yellow icon with DELIME in the center appears when it is time to delime the machine.
Press the DELIME button.
2. The 'PROCEED WITH DELIME' screen appears. Press 'NO' to return to the main screen.
Press 'YES' to start the delime process.
3. If door is open,'CLOSE DOOR TO START' appears. The red door icon in the upper right
corner of the screen alerts the operator that the door is open.
4. If continuing with deliming, 'DRAINING' appears and the machine drains.
5. Open the doors, remove the screens and clean them a remote sink. Reinstall the
screens.
