• Simple Remote uses IR commands which means line of sight between the
Apple TV and Simple Remote control is required.
• Simple Remote DOES NOT support Bluetooth functions including voice search.
• The Simple Remote comes from the factory with a plastic Isolator in the battery
compartment to preserve battery life before initial use. You will need to ensure
the plastic isolator is removed prior to rst use.
• The Simple Remote has universal functionality which allows it to be
programmed to control the on/off and volume functionally of most brands of
TV’s and soundbars. (Note: Simple Remote will not conrol other TV functions
besides Power On/Off and Volume +/-)
Simple Remote Overview Important Details:
The Channel Master Simple Remote
was designed to specically
work with 4th generation Apple
TV units and to provide a more
conventional remote control user
experience. The Simple Remote
is pre-programmed to work with
Apple TV units out of the box or it
can also be programmed to work as
a replacement remote control for
Channel Master DVR’s.

Step 1: Turn ON your TV and Soundbar using your original
remote controls.
Step 2: On the Simple Remote press the Menu and OK
Buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until the red
LED remains on.
Step 3: On the Simple Remote Press the CH button and
watch for your TV’s on-screen volume indicator to
appear.
Step 4: Wait 2 seconds and if you do not see your TV’s
volume indicator appear on your TV screen, repeat
step 3 until it appears.

Step 5: Immediately after your TV volume indicator
appears on the screen, Press Ok to save code.
The red light will blink three times to conrm the
code was saved.
Step 6: Try the VOL+ and VOL- buttons on the Simple
Remote and it should now control your TV’s
volume. Now it should also power on and off
your television if you press the power button on
the top right corner of the remote.
If your Simple Remote will not control your TV’s
Volume and Power functions, please try steps 2
through 6 again. If you continue to have issues please
visit www.channelmaster.com/support for additional
troubleshooting steps.
Step 1: Turn ON your TV and Soundbar using your original
remote controls.
Step 2: On the Simple Remote press the Menu and OK
Buttons simultaneously for three seconds until the
red LED remains on.
Step 3: On the Simple Remote press the (Down Arrow)
button and watch for your TV’s on-screen volume
indicator to appear.
Step 4: Wait 2 seconds and if you do not see your
soundbars volume indicator appear on your TV
screen or soundbar, repeat step three until it
appears.
(If your soundbar does not have a volume indicator
you will want to listen for the volume to change
instead of looking for the indicator)
Step 5: Immediatly after your soundbars volume indicator
appears or you hear a change in volume, press OK
to save code. The red light will blink three times to
conrm the code was saved.
Step 6: Try the VOL+ and VOL- buttons on the Simple
Remote and it should now control your soundbars
volume. Now it should also power on and off your
soundbar if you press the power button on the top
right corner of the remote.
If your Simple Remote will not control your TV’s
Volume and Power functions, please try steps 2
through 6 again. If you continue to have issues please
visit www.channelmaster.com/support for additional
troubleshooting steps.
Programming Remote to Control Your Soundbar
Programming Remote to Control Channel Master DVR’s:
Stream+ : Press Menu Button and (Play/Pause) Button simultaneously for 3 seconds. Remote should now be set to control Stream+ functions.
DVR+ : Press Menu and (Fast Forward) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Remote should now be set to control DVR+ functions.
Factory Reset: Press Menu and (Stop) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Remote should now be reset to factory defaults.
