Product description:
The product is an electrical smoke detector that is operated with 9V and an additional 3x1.5V (AA Mignon). You can
use this smoke detector with a 9V battery (type is 6LR61 or 6F22) for about 1 year, depending on the type. The high
sensitivity of the smoke detector also detects dense smoke from smoldering fires and black smoke. This means fire
can be extinguished before it spreads. This smoke detector can be installed in any room except for bathrooms. During
installation, it must be ensured that people can hear the alarm and thus react as quickly as possible. Install at least
one smoke alarm in the hallway near the living area and bedroom. By installing it near the living and sleeping areas,
you can ensure
Recommended installation concept for typical one-storey residential buildings:
Mount the smoke detector on ceilings or inside walls. Every corridor should be equipped with a smoke detector. If the
corridor is longer than 10 meters, we recommend installing one smoke detector at each end of the corridor. If you live
in the basement, a smoke detector should be mounted on the basement ceiling.
Recommended installation concept for typical multi-storey residential buildings:
Proceed exactly as in the assembly concept for one-story residential buildings. However, you should also install a
smoke detector on each floor of the stairwell, but at least on the first and second floors.
Important safety information:
1. The test button is specially designed to test the alarm function of the smoke detector. Never test the smoke
detector with other test equipment! To ensure the smoke alarm is working properly, test the smoke alarm every
week.
2. For your safety: Never remove the battery to stop the alarm. You can open the window or turn on a fan to let the
smoke out and then stop the alarm.
3. Consult an electrician to install the smoke alarm. When installing, the electrician must follow local and national
requirements and building regulations.
4. This smoke detector is particularly suitable for a single-family household. In residential buildings with several
families, individual smoke detectors are required for each family. Never install smoke detectors in empty residential
buildings. Furthermore, smoke detectors must not be used as alarm backup systems.
5. A smoke detector should be installed in every room.
6. The smoke detector cannot trigger an alarm in the following situations:
a) the fire is too far from the living area,
b) the fire is on another floor,
c) the fire is in a gas duct,
d) the fire is in a wall,
e) the fire is on the roof,
f) in an airtight place.
ATTENTION: In the situations mentioned above, the smoke detector cannot trigger an alarm. The smoke detector
cannot detect and warn of fires outside of the detection area or outside of the room.
7. The smoke alarm sounds to warn the residents of a fire. However, there are situations in which individual residents
cannot hear the alarm. Examples: The resident(s).
a) are not in the room where a smoke detector is installed,
b) sleep deeply or snore very loudly,
c) are under the influence of medication, drugs or alcohol,
d) have impaired hearing or wear hearing protection,
If you find that the smoke alarm is not sounding, first check the smoke alarm. In any case, it must be ensured that
everyone in the house can hear the alarm and
can react quickly to avoid personal injury. If individual residents have poor hearing, install a smoke detector with a
display or vibration system.

8. The smoke alarm can only sound when it detects the presence of smoke or burning granules; the smoke detector
can sense the changed temperature, flame or flammable gases. This device was developed for small fires. However,
there are fires that start suddenly, or are explosive, or are caused by insufficient safety measures. In such situations,
the smoke detector cannot warn the residents of the house quickly enough about the fire.
9. The functionality of the smoke detector can also reach its limits. The smoke alarm should not be considered the
only protection against fire. If the smoke alarm is installed, it does not mean that you are absolutely safe. The landlord
and residents are responsible for their own lives and property. In addition, there are also situations in which the
smoke detector could not be functional. That's why you need to check the smoke detector every week.
Battery specification:
Target voltage: DC 9V (alkaline battery or zinc-carbon battery) Type: 6F22 (zinc-carbon battery) or 6LR61 (alkaline
battery), 3x1.5V alkaline mignon (AA)! No rechargeable batteries may be used!
Replacing the batteries :
1. Turn the smoke detector counterclockwise, then take out the alarm part.
2. Remove the battery and insert a new battery (spill-proof!).
3. Place the new battery in the battery holder. Put on the alarm part, turn it clockwise.
4. Use the test button to test the smoke detector. To do this, press and hold the test button for approx. 5 seconds.
Release the button as soon as the alarm sounds, this "test" alarm will stop by itself after a few seconds. When
inserting the last AA battery, please push down the red tab first, then push the battery in. The smoke detector cannot
be attached to the mounting plate without batteries.
The smoke detector should not be used in the following places!
1. Near flammable electrical appliances or in areas such as B. in the kitchen, near furniture or water heaters. If
necessary, install a suitable smoke detector in such areas.
2. In areas with high temperatures eg near dishwashers or washing machines - the smoke detector must be
installed at a distance of at least 3 meters from these devices.
3. The smoke detector must be installed at a distance of at least 1 meter from the air conditioning systems or
ventilation. Smoke spreads quickly in close proximity to these devices and the smoke detector cannot detect the
smoke in these environmental conditions.
4. In rooms with a temperature below 4 degrees Celsius or above 37 degrees Celsius.
5. Dusty or unclean areas. Areas with a large number of insects.
6. Not in the kitchen, not in bathrooms and not in other wet rooms!
Checking the smoke detector:
1. Check that each smoke alarm is properly installed and adjusted.
2. Never test the smoke detector with fire. The smoke detector and also the room could burn down.
3. Check the working condition of the smoke detector every week and after every holiday.
4. When checking the smoke alarm, keep your arms' distance from the device. Check the smoke detector once a week
according to the following steps.
The smoke detector
cannot be attached to the mounting plate without batteries.

Maintenance and cleaning:
Apart from the weekly checks, the battery must be replaced annually (in the case of zinc-carbon). Use good quality
batteries (alkaline or lithium) to extend the smoke alarm's working life. For the operating steps, see the Battery
Replacement section. Clean the smoke detector at least once a month. Before cleaning, remove the battery. Use a soft
vacuum cleaner brush to clean the smoke detector. Make sure the ventilation slots are free of dust. If necessary, clean
the cover of the smoke detector with a damp cloth. Make sure that the battery compartment is properly closed and
that no water can get into the device. Attention: Never open the housing to clean the interior.
Repair :
Caution: Never repair the smoke detector yourself. If the smoke alarm stops working within the warranty period,
place the smoke alarm in the sales box. Take the device to the dealer where you bought it. If the smoke alarm does
not work after the warranty period has expired, have an electrician repair it or replace the unit.
Fire Safety Training:
To cope with such situations, regularly conduct a fire drill with the whole family. 1. Explain to your family
members what it means when an alarm goes off.
2. There are 2 escape route symbols in each room.
3. Plan suitable escape routes.
4. Explain to your family members how to properly open a door heated by fire.
5. In the event of a fire, inform your family members to leave the scene calmly and carefully to avoid smoke and
flames.
6. Plan a meeting place for family members at a safe distance from the scene of the fire.
What to do in case of a fire?
1. Don't panic, stay calm and have presence of mind.
2. Get out of the burning building as quickly as possible. Before opening the door, first check whether the
temperature of the door has risen due to the fire. If so, exit the room through a different security exit. Walk calmly,
and don't try to take anything with you.
3. Meet at the agreed meeting point.
4. Once you have left the scene of the fire, call the fire department immediately.
5. Do not return to the fire building. Wait for the fire to go out.
Note: Above information can help you escape from the scene of the fire. To reduce the risk of a fire, you should
conduct regular fire safety training.
Troubleshooting:
When checking or during normal operation: Under no circumstances should you dismantle any of the smoke detector
components to stop the alarm. Immediately open the window or turn on a fan to clear the smoke.

The best mounting location for your smoke detector
First you need to mount a smoke detector in the bedroom or on the escape route. If there are multiple bedrooms,
install a smoke detector in each room.
• Install a smoke detector in the stairwell or on each floor.
• In a fire, smoke rises and the temperature rises from burning objects. It is best to mount smoke detectors in the
middle of the ceiling so that people throughout the room can hear the alarm when it goes off.
• If the smoke detector cannot be mounted in the middle of the ceiling, the smoke detector should be installed at
least 10 cm away from the corner of the wall.
• If the smoke detector is mounted on a wall, the mounting point must be 10 cm below the ceiling (see figure 3).
• If the length of the room or hallway is more than 10 meters, install several smoke detectors.
• If the roof or the ceiling is crooked, the smoke detector must be installed at a distance of 10 cm from the roof
ridge (see figure 4).

Programming of the main and the secondary alarms
Tip: It doesn't matter which detector is the main detector or secondary detector, if all detectors have been correctly
trained, the alarm will sound on all detectors, regardless of which detector detects the smoke development first! The
permanent wireless connection of all smoke detectors can be released and, if necessary, renewed by removing the 3
mignon batteries (for approx. 5 minutes) (see 1-4). Turn the smoke alarm counter-clockwise. Remove the mounting
plate. Hold the mounting plate at the position where you will mount the smoke alarm. Test all detectors to be
installed by pressing (3-5 sec) the test button. The alarm will turn off after a few seconds. The radio connection system
is based on the main and secondary detector principle. It is best to place all detectors to be installed/connected next
to each other.
1. Insert fresh/new batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity!
2. Take the first detector (it will become main) and press the LEARN button twice in a row, then the green LED
should light up! (remains approx. 18 seconds, as long as the detectors can be connected together.)
3. Take one or more additional detectors (these become secondary) and press the LEARN button on this (..or all)
once, the red LED should light up.
4. Now press the TEST button on the main detector within 18 seconds. The main detector acknowledges with an alarm and
the secondary detectors should now also trigger an alarm. The alarm goes off again after a short time. Now check again by
pressing a test button whether all smoke detectors (..with a 1-2 second time delay) trigger an alarm.
Installation on wall or ceiling:
Turn the smoke alarm counter-clockwise. Remove the mounting plate.
• Hold the mounting plate at the position where you want to mount the smoke detector. Mark the holes with a pencil.
These positions are necessary for the mounting holes.
• Drill 2 holes according to the markings. The diameter of the holes must be 5mm. Insert a plastic anchor into each of
the 2 holes.
• Place the mounting plate on the plastic dowels. Fasten the mounting plate to the dowels with the screws (see figure
5). • Insert the battery into the battery compartment.
• Place the smoke detector on the mounting plate. Rotate the smoke alarm clockwise until the smoke alarm clicks into
place. (Note: Mounting plate can only be mounted with battery installed).
• Test the smoke detector with the test button. To avoid accidents, properly mount the smoke detector on the wall or
ceiling according to the mounting requirements.
Tip:
The smoke detector cannot be placed on the mounting
plate without batteries:
This safety precaution protects you from forgetting the
batteries!
