Product description:
The product is an electric smoke detector that is operated with 9V and an additional 3x1.5V (AA-Mignon). You can use
this smoke detector with a 9V battery (type is 6LR61 or 6F22) for approx. 1 year, depending on the type. Due to the
high sensitivity of the smoke detector, thick smoke from smoldering fires and black smoke can also be detected. This
means that fire can be extinguished before it spreads. Except in bathrooms, this smoke detector can be installed in
any room. During installation, it must be ensured that people hear the alarm and can therefore react as quickly as
possible. Install at least one smoke detector in the hallway near the living area and bedroom. By installing it near the
living and sleeping areas, you can ensure
RecommendationMounting concept for typical one-story residential buildings:
Install the smoke detector on the ceiling or interior walls. Every hallway should be equipped with a smoke detector. If
the corridor is longer than 10 meters, we recommend installing a smoke detector at both ends of the corridor. If you
live in the basement, a smoke detector should be installed on the basement ceiling.
RecommendationMounting concept for typical multi-storey residential buildings:
Proceed exactly as with the assembly concept for one-story houses. However, you should also install a smoke detector
on each floor of the stairwell, but at least on the first and second floors.
Important safety information:
1. The test button is used specifically for testing the alarm function of the smoke detector. Never use any other test
equipment to test the smoke detector! To ensure that the smoke alarm is working properly, check the smoke alarm
every week.
2. For your safety: do not remove the battery to stop the alarm. You can open the window or turn on a fan to let the
smoke out and then stop the alarm.
3. Consult an electrician to install the smoke alarm. During installation, the electrician must follow local and national
requirements as well as the building regulations.
4. This smoke detector is particularly suitable for a single family household. In residential buildings with several families, individual
smoke detectors are required for each family. Under no circumstances should smoke alarms be installed in empty residential
buildings. In addition, smoke detectors must not be used as alarm replacement systems.
5. A smoke detector should be installed in every room.
6. The smoke detector cannot trigger an alarm in the following situations:
a) the fire is too far from the living area,
b) the fire is on another floor,
c) the fire is in a gas duct,
d) the fire is in a wall,
e) the fire is on the roof,
f) in an airtight place.
ATTENTION: In the situations mentioned above, the smoke detector cannot trigger an alarm. Outside the detection
area or outside the room, the smoke detector cannot detect any fires and warn of them.
7. The smoke alarm sounds to warn the residents of a fire. However, there are situations in which individual residents
cannot hear the alarm. Examples: The resident (s)
a) are not in the room in which a smoke detector is installed,
b) sleep deeply or snore very loudly,
c) are under the influence of medication, drugs or alcohol,
d) have hearing damage or wear hearing protection,
If you discover that the smoke alarm is not sounding, check the smoke alarm first. In any case, it must be ensured
that everyone in the house hears the alarm and
can react quickly to avoid personal injury. If individual residents of the house have poor hearing, install a smoke
detector with a display or vibration system.

8. The smoke alarm can only sound if it detects the presence of smoke or burning granules; the smoke detector can
sense the change in temperature, the flame or flammable gases. This device was developed for small fires. However,
there are fires that are suddenly lit, or are explosive, or arise because of inadequate safety measures. In such
situations, the smoke alarm cannot warn residents of the fire quickly enough.
9. The functionality of the smoke alarm can also reach its limits. The smoke alarm should not be seen as the only
protection against fire. Having the smoke alarm installed doesn't mean you are definitely safe. House owners and
residents are responsible for their own life and property. In addition, there are also situations in which the smoke
alarm could not be functional. Therefore, you need to check the smoke alarm every week.
Specification of the batteries:
Nominal voltage: DC 9V (alkaline battery or zinc-carbon battery) Type: 6F22 (zinc-carbon battery) or 6LR61 (alkaline
battery), 3x1.5V alkaline Mignon (AA)! Batteries must not be used!
Replacing the batteries:
1. Turn the smoke detector anti-clockwise, then remove the alarm part.
2. Remove the battery and insert a new battery (leak-proof!).
3. Place the new battery in the battery holder. Put the alarm part on, screw it clockwise.
Use the test button to test the smoke detector by holding the test button down for approx. 5 seconds. Release the
button as soon as the alarm sounds, this "test" alarm will stop automatically after a few seconds. When inserting the
last AA battery, please first press the red tab down, then press the battery in. The smoke detector cannot be attached
to the mounting plate without batteries.
The smoke detector should not be used in the following places!
1. Near flammable electrical appliances or in areas such as B. in the kitchen, near furniture or water heaters. If
necessary, install a suitable smoke detector in such areas.
2. In areas with high temperatures, for example in the vicinity of dishwashers or washing machines - the smoke
detector must be installed at a distance of at least 3 meters from these devices.
3. The smoke detector must be installed at a distance of at least 1 meter from air conditioning systems or exhaust /
ventilation. In the immediate vicinity of these devices, smoke is quickly distributed; the smoke detector cannot
detect the smoke under these ambient conditions.
4. In rooms with a temperature below 4 degrees Celsius or above 37 degrees Celsius.
5. Dusty or unclean areas. Areas in which there are a lot of insects.
6. Not in the kitchen, not in bathrooms and not in other damp rooms!
Testing the smoke detector:
1. Check whether each smoke detector has been correctly installed and adjusted.
2. Never test the smoke alarm with fire. The smoke alarm and the room could burn down.
3. Check the working status of the smoke detector every week and after every vacation.
4. When checking the smoke alarm, keep an arm distance from the device. Check the smoke alarm once a week
according to the following steps.
Use the test button to test the smoke detector by holding the test button down for approx. 5 seconds. Release the

Maintenance and cleaning:
Apart from the weekly checks, the battery must be replaced annually (for zinc-carbon). Use high quality batteries
(alkaline or lithium) to extend the life of the smoke alarm. The operating steps can be found in the section "Replacing
the battery". Clean the smoke alarm at least once a month. Remove the battery before cleaning. Use a soft vacuum
cleaner brush to clean the smoke alarm. Make sure the vents are free from dust. If necessary, clean the cover of the
smoke detector with a damp cloth. Make sure that the battery compartment is properly closed and that no water can
penetrate the device. Caution: Under no circumstances should you open the housing to clean the interior.
Repair:
Caution: Never repair the smoke alarm yourself. If the smoke alarm no longer works within the warranty period, place
the smoke alarm in the sales box. Take the device to the dealer from whom you purchased it. If the smoke alarm does
not work after the warranty period has expired, have it repaired or replaced by an electrician.
Fire safety training:
To deal with situations like this, conduct a fire drill with the whole family on a regular basis.
1. Explain to your family members what it means when an alarm goes off.
2. There are 2 escape route symbols in each room.
3. Plan suitable escape routes.
4. Explain to family members the correct way to open a fire-heated door.
5. Inform your family members to leave the area calmly and carefully in the event of a fire in order to avoid smoke
and flames.
6. Plan a meeting place for family members a safe distance from the scene of the fire.
What to do in a fire
1. Don't panic, mind-presence and keep calm.
2. Leave the burning building as soon as possible. Before opening the door, first check whether the temperature of
the door has risen due to the fire. If so, then exit the room through another security exit. Go very calmly and do not
try to take anything with you.
3. Meet at the agreed meeting point.
4. When you have left the scene of the fire, call the fire brigade immediately.
5. Do not return to the fire building. Wait for the fire to be extinguished.
Note: The information above can help you escape from the scene of the fire. To reduce the risk of fire, you should
regularly conduct fire safety training.
Elimination of malfunctions:
During testing or normal operation: Under no circumstances dismantle any components of the smoke detector to
stop the alarm. Immediately open the window or turn on a fan to let the smoke out.

The best mounting point for your smoke detector
First, you need to install a smoke detector in the bedroom or on the escape route. If there are several bedrooms,
install a smoke alarm in each room.
• Install a smoke detector in the stairwell area or on each floor.
• In the event of a fire, smoke rises and the temperature rises due to burning objects. It is best to mount smoke
alarms in the middle of the ceiling so that people in the whole room can hear the alarm when it is triggered.
• If the smoke detector cannot be installed in the middle of the ceiling, the place where the smoke detector is installed
should be at least 10 cm away from the corner of the wall.
• If the smoke detector is installed on a wall, the installation point must be 10 cm below the ceiling (see Fig. 3).
• If the length of the room or the corridor is more than 10 meters, install several smoke detectors.
• If the roof or the ceiling is crooked, the smoke detector must be installed at a distance of 10 cm from the roof
ridge (see Fig. 4).

Programming of the main and secondary alarms
Tip: It does not matter which detector is the main detector or secondary detector, if all detectors are correctly trained,
the alarm sounds on all detectors, regardless of which detector detects the smoke development first! The fixed radio
connection of all smoke detectors can be released by removing the 3 Mignon batteries (for approx. 5 minutes) and
replaced if necessary (see 1-4). Turn the smoke detector anti-clockwise and remove the mounting plate. Hold the
mounting plate in the position where you will mount the smoke detector. Test all detectors to be installed by pressing
the test button (3-5 seconds). The alarm is switched off after a few seconds. The radio connection system is based on
the main and secondary detector principle. It is best to place all the detectors to be installed / connected next to one
another.
1. Insert fresh / new batteries, pay attention to correct polarity!
2. Take the first detector (it becomes main) and press the LEARN button twice in a row, then the green LED should
light up! (Remains approx. 18 seconds, as long as the detectors can be connected together.)
3. Take one or more additional detectors (these will be secondary) and press the LEARN button 1x for this (.. or all),
the red LED should light up.
4. Now press the TEST button on the main indicator within 18 seconds. The main detector acknowledges with an alarm and
the secondary detectors should now also trigger an alarm. The alarm goes off again after a short time. Now check again by
pressing a test button whether all smoke detectors (... with a 1-2 second time delay) trigger an alarm.
Installation on wall or ceiling:
Turn the smoke detector anti-clockwise and remove the mounting plate.
• Hold the mounting plate in the position where you want to mount the smoke detector. Mark the deletion
with a pencil. These positions are necessary for the mounting holes.
• Drill 2 holes according to the markings. The diameter of the holes must be 5mm. Sit down
a plastic dowel in each of the 2 holes.
• Place the mounting plate on the plastic dowels. Fasten the mounting plate with the screws (see
Picture 5) on the dowels. • Place the battery in the battery compartment.
• Place the smoke detector on the mounting plate. Turn the smoke alarm clockwise until the smoke
the detector is locked in the correct position. (Note: the mounting plate can only be installed when the battery is
inserted).
• Check the smoke detector with the test button. To avoid accidents, switch off the smoke detector in accordance with the installation
Mount the requirements correctly on the wall or on the ceiling.
Tip:
The smoke detector cannot be placed on the mounting
plate without batteries:
This safety precaution protects you from forgetting the
batteries!
