INSTALLATION
2.

CC2 Electric Barbecue Cooktop (Part numbers 1005; 1006)
12
Christie barbecue cooktops are designed to be installed into
structures that meet minimum design specifications to ensure their
safe operation. Despite all measures to make our product safe to
use, it is a cooking appliance capable of reaching temperatures in
excess of 200°C. It is our intention that the following information will
further minimise any chances of injury.
2.1 Design guidelines for installing a CC2 cooktop
| Installation
• Ideally, public barbecues and eating
facilities should be separated from
playgrounds and other active
recreation areas
• Barbecues should be installed in plain
view, where they can be monitored for
safe and appropriate use
• Ensure there are no climbing aids
that will allow children access to the
barbecue cooktop. This includes taps,
ledges or movable furniture, etc.
• Protruding benchtop and corners
may pose a risk of injury to children
and corners should therefore be
rounded off
• Electric barbecue structures should
consist of sturdy, non-combustible
materials such as brick, stone, or metal
• A cut-out of at least 495 mm x 495 mm
is required to allow the cooktop to be
fitted to the bench
• Ensure a minimum bench space of
130 mm on all four sides of the cut-
out hole and 1200 mm clear space
above the hotplate
• To assist with the task of constructing
appropriate structures, Christie
barbecue surrounds are designed to suit
most applications and environments. We
also provide doors and other options for
custom structures
• Assemble all pre-manufactured Christie
barbecue surrounds and options in
accordance with the installation guide
supplied with that product

STEP 3
Insert the washer onto the 8mm bolt. Insert the bolt through the anti-rotation bracket and
into the hole on the benchtop. Secure the 8mm nut with two 13mm spanners – using one to
turn the nut and the other to prevent the bolt from turning, tighten until the brackets cannot
move. Repeat this process on the other side.
Note: When fixing the cooktop to a custom bench top, align the centre notch on the anti-
rotation bracket with the midpoint of the 495mm cut out in the bench top at the 247.5mm
mark. Mark this point and drill a 10mm diameter hole. Repeat on the other side. Secure as
above, alternatively any two holes can be used if preferred.
