Ultra short throw lens
installation and setup
The ultra short throw lens (P/N: 144-136101-XX) allows you to position your projector as close as
possible to your screen or display.
Affected products
The following product series are affected:
• 4K40-RGB
• Boxer
• Christie SST
Installing the ultra short throw projector lens
Learn how to install the ultra short throw projection lens.
The illustrations in this document are for representation only and may not depict your projector model
exactly.
1. Switch to the ultra short throw lens keep-out area.
a) Select MENU > Configuration > Lens Settings.
b) Select Enable UST Lens (0.38:1).
c) To enable the ultra short throw lens keep-out area, select Enter.
Not switching to this keep-out area risks damaging the projector when the ultra short throw
lens is installed.
2. Remove the lens caps from the lens.
3. Align both the guide on the front cover and the lens marked by a red line, and the insert plates
on the lens.
4. Insert the lens into the projector and turn it clockwise until it is locked in place.
Make sure the lens is supported near the front element.

Aligning and focusing the image
After installing the lens, align and focus the image.
The method for performing the steps below may vary depending on projector model. For detailed
information, refer to the user documentation for your product.
1. If required, power on the projector.
2. Perform a lens calibration.
3. To align the image, position the projector and adjust offsets.
4. Adjust boresight.
5. Adjust the center focus of the image by using the Focus feature on the projector.
6. Manually adjust the corner focus of the image using the focus ring on the lens.
7. To fine tune the focus, repeat steps 5 and 6 until optimum focus is achieved.

Ultra short throw lens control limitations
The projector has keep-out areas for the ultra short throw lens position, illustrated below. When
adjusting the lens offset, these regions are unavailable to prevent interference and potentially damage
of internal components.
