1 RULES FOR SAFE O ERATION
1.1 Electric Connection

Always disconnect power plug before servicing.
Maintenance, replacement or adjustment of parts can cause serious injury or death to
the user or other persons, if the machine is connected to the power supply system.
Keep the cable away from the blade to avoid damage of the cable.

The machine is constructed for inside-usage only.
Danger of electric shock. Do not expose the machine to water or rain.

Using cables with to little average or excessive length can cause damage to persons and
objects.
Electrical equipments like cables or plugs must be controlled / renewed by an
authorized electrician. Risk of injuries or fatalities by wrong electrical connection
Never operate with a damaged cable or connector.
Replacement of worn or damaged cables or connectors has to be effected by a specialist
or a similar qualified person.
Improperly connecting the grounding wire can result in risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualified electrician if your in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the tool. Never remove the grounding
prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the cord or plug is damaged. If the plug will
not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
Do not use machine when cable is damage. Don't move the machine by dragging the
cable. Utilization with a damaged cable can cause an electric shock.
Non observance of the symbols, which you can see in the instruction manual or on the
machine, may result in serious injury or death for the user and other persons. Read,
understand and follow all the clues / hints, which are situated in the machine or in the
instruction manual.

1.2 Staff
The operator has to be instructed to the use of the machine before operating.
Non observance of the instruction manual before commissioning, adjustment or maintenance
could cause serious injury to personal or objects.
Read unexceptionally all security statements. Be sure that type plate, security symbols as
commandments, warnings, precautions and the directives are mounted / fixe to the machine.
Non observance of the directives inside this manual may cause serious injury or damage.
Always wear eye-protection, protective suit, dust-mouthguard / dust respirator and ear-
protection during the usage of the machine. The noise that appears while removing flooring can
be so intense that at long term use it may cause injury of the auditory tube. Working without
appropriate security equipment, as for instance a protective suit, can injure eyes and body.
Arising airborne dust may be inhaled when wearing no mouthguard.
Keep arms, feet and clothes away from the operating machine parts.
Moving parts of the machine can cause serious injury or damage.
1.3 Usage
ACCESSORIES/S ARE ARTS
Only use the recommended accessories and make sure that they are working properly. Only use
original spare parts and accessories specially made for this machine. We expressly point out that
other parts may not be used. As a result, the safety of the machine can be adversely affected.
This is especially true for the scraper blade. For damages resulting from the use of non-original
parts, the manufacturer excludes any liability.
When replacing spare parts or electrical connections, the technical data specified by the
manufacturer must be observed or original spare parts must be used. A machine must not be
used if the condition of all connecting cables or components is not perfect.
WORK SAFETY
The stripper FBS 40 is built according to the state of the art and the recognized safety-technical
rules and must only be used for its intended use and in a condition that is safe in terms of safety.
Improper use may cause danger to persons, as well as damage to the machine and other
property. When working with the machine, pay attention to third parties, especially children. If the
machine fails, it must be switched off immediately and disconnected from the mains to prevent
further damage or damage.
INTENDED USE
The Stripper FBS 40 is exclusively for removing bonded floor coverings and tiles, such as
Linoleum, rubber, carpets and PVC coverings designed in dry rooms. Any other or more
extensive use is considered to be improper. The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting
therefrom. DO NOT USE THE MACHINE ON SWINGING FLOORS IN OLD BUIDINGS !
To improper use include u. a. the use of blades not approved by the manufacturer, the removal of
unsuitable floor coverings, outdoor use and use in conjunction with liquids.

2 RODUCT INFORMATION
2.1 Technical Description
A powerful stripper for small and medium-sized areas. Works on wooden or concrete surfaces
and will remove virtually any substance adhering to the floor.

The vibration emission value may differ from the indication value during the
actual use of the engine, depending on the manner in which the engine is used.
Take a break after 120 minutes of work at the latest to avoid damage from
hand-arm vibrations.

3 O ERATION
3.3 Adjustment of working angle
3.1 Operating elements
A steep / aggressive angle for more difficult work
a shallower angle for lighter jobs.
Optimization of the working method with
different underfloor conditions can also
be carried out via this setting option.
- Loosen the clamping lever on the angle guide
- Pull the machine upwards on the guide rod
when the wheels contact the ground until
the desired angle is reached.
- Tighten the clamping lever again

3.2 Adjustment of the handle height
The height of the guide handle can be
adjusted in three positions.
- Loosen and remove the locking pin
- Fix the guide handle again with
the locking pin in new position.
Regardless of the working angle, the handles of the guide bar should
always be adjusted to the user's belt height.

3.4 Choice of blade

3.6 Sharpen blade
Blunt blades affect and reduce the capacity and cutting performance
of the machine. Sharpen or replace the blades as needed.
CAUTION ! sharp blade Wear protective gloves
Use supplied extended wrench to keep hand safely
away from the edge of the blade.
1. Place a bock under the front of the machine.
2. Loosen the two bolts with the extended bolt
wrench and replace the blade.
It is not necessary to remove the bolts.
Be sure that the blade is far enough under the blade-holder,
to insure a secure hold.
USE ONLY ORI INAL BLADES.
Always wear gloves and safety glasses.
It is not necessary to remove the bolts.
1. Sharpen the blade mounted to the machine.
Using hand grinder, block up front of machine
so blade is off the floor.
Sharpen the blade with a 10 cm diameter disk
with 120 or finer grit.
Be careful not to catch disk on edge or corner of blade.

Sanding with a fine-toothed file
2. Furthermore there is the opportunity to remove the blade
from the machine and to sharpen the blade at a vice,
obeying the same procedure as shown below.

4 O ERATION
4.1 Start the machine
4.2 Removal of floor coverings
Make sure that the machine is switched off before plugging in the mains plug.
1. Plug in the power cord
2. Turn on the machine.
Scribing coverings previously and cut into sheets.
Pre-scored carpet makes machine easier to control and blades
stay sharper longer.
For soft coverings, the self-scoring blade can
also be used.
For best results use the scoring device "JAMAS" (# 111 160 000)
Vinyl-, Rubber, VC, Direct Glued Carpet
Keep blades sharp! Keep your work area clean and clear of debris.
Always wear eye- and ear- protection when working with the machine.

ELEMINATION
- Check the condition of the extension cable and the connectors
of the cable
- Check if the guard is bent / damaged
- Check the adjusting screws and other screw connections
for tightness
- Sharpen the blade
- Check / replace the extension cable
- Check / test a different power connection / circuit

5 MAINTENANCE / CARE / RE AIR
Before startup:
Check the guards and connecting cable for damage
Check the fasteners for tightness
Check the blade - replace blurred blades
After the end of work:
Pull out the mains plug
Remove the blade
The machines or devices must be protected against moisture, frost and long-lasting, unhindered
solar radiation.
Motor of the machine is maintenance-free, only the depositing dirt should be removed regularly,
so that good cooling of the engine is guaranteed.
Clean machines only with dry or moderately moistened cloth with the addition of mild detergent.
No wet cleaning, otherwise the loss of electrical safety can occur.
Maintenance in terms of machine / equipment inspection and repair (including replacement of the
service line and engine is permitted only by authorized service centers or by appropriately trained
professionals.
When using extension cables or replacing connecting cables, it is not permissible to deviate from
the version prescribed by us PVC hose line H05VV-F according to DIN 57281 / VDE 0281. The
plugs must be made of rubber or PVC and the outlet direction of the cable must match the
direction of the plug pins. When replacing connecting cables, the safety precautions listed in
Chapter 4 must be observed.
Repairs and replacement of electrical components may only be carried out by a specialist.
The product you have purchased is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU of the

electronic equipment (WEEE) and should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal
waste. Please utilize your local WEEE collection facilities in the disposition of this
product and otherwiseobserve all applicable national requirements.
