a. Mount the drive at the very end of the tray.
b. Leave a gap at the front.
c. Use the following screw holes to mount the drive.
1. Mount drives in drive trays.
The instructions in this Quick Start Guide are for rst-time setup
only. Please do not use this procedure when RAID has already been
initialized.

3. Connect the power cord.
2. Insert the drive trays into the unit.
4. Connect one of the data cables from the host to the unit.
(USB, Firewire 400, Firewire 800, or eSATA)

6. Select “-Re-init?” by pressing the left button.
5. Power on the unit via the switch in the rear of the unit.
7. Wait for a few seconds, and then select “-Init?” by pressing the left
button again.
Warning: This will erase any data on the disks.

9. On the Mac host, start Disk Utility.
8. Wait a few more seconds for the initialization to complete.
10. Select the device on the left.
Select the “Erase” tab, then click on “Erase.”

12. The volume should now be formatted and mounted.
11. Conrm by selecting “Erase.”
13. There should now be an icon on the desktop for the new volume.
