1. Scope of Application
This is to describe VCC-5CL1R, 1-inch type CMOS, 5.2M resolution, Camera Link Color (RAW) Camera.
All specifications contained herein are subject to change without prior notice. Reproduction in whole or in part is
prohibited.
2. Handling Precautions
The camera must not be used for any nuclear equipments or aerospace equipments with which mechanical failure
or malfunction could result in serious bodily injury or loss of human life. Our warranty does not apply to
damages or defects caused by irregular and/or abnormal use of the product.
Please observe all warnings and cautions stated below.
Our warranty does not apply to damages or malfunctions caused by neglecting these precautions.
zDo not use or store the camera in the extremely dusty or humid places.
zDo not apply excessive force or static electricity that could damage the camera.
zDo not shoot direct images that are extremely bright (e.g., light source, sun, etc.), and when camera
is not in use, put the lens cap on.
zFollow the instructions in Chapter 6, “External connector pin assignment” for connecting the camera.
Improper connection may cause damages not only to the camera but also to the connected devices.
zConfirm the mutual ground potential carefully before connecting the camera to monitors or
computers. Any AC leaks from the connected devices may cause damages or destroy the camera.
zDo not apply excessive voltage. (Use only the specified voltage.) Unstable or improper power
supply voltage may cause damages or malfunction of the camera.
zThe voltage ripple of camera power DC +12V±10% shall be within ±50mV. Improper power
supply voltage may cause noises on the video signals.
zThe rising time of camera power supply voltage shall be less than +10V, Max 60ms. Please
avoid noises like chattering when rising.

pixels can be read out within 1/59s at Medium Configuration output

◇12pins connector Pin No 7, Pin No 12： Exposure photo coupler isolated output. (Transistor NPN output)
・Use it as an open collector output. The sink current flows into a camera should not exceed 50mA
(Maximum 25V).
・Due to the delay of the photo coupler input/output transmission, several μs delay against the actual sensor
exposure time would occur.
・When a pull up resistor is used, the delay time is subject to change due to the pull up voltage, the pull up
resistor and the connecting circuit of the user’s circuit. Please set a value get an appropriate waveform.
※For your reference, “exposure output”of 12pins connector Pin No.7 is a pulse with no delay.

5.1. Note for Functions
※ This camera executes auto calibration when turning its power ON and when setting the function below.
While auto calibration is executed, white clip level or setup level could drop to a lower level if luminance exceeds its
saturated level was input. In such case, issuing the manual calibration command(RECAL) with lower luminance (light
shielding is recommended) is effective. Please be noted that auto calibration setting cannot be disabled.

・ Binning mode setting (Address 56)
Also, color shading could be noticeable when camera internal temperature becomes stable after turning its power ON.
In such case also, issuing the manual calibration command(RECAL) is recommended.
※ Functionally, the camera has Gain-Up Function up to +18dB. However, image degradation is inevitable when gain is
set close to +18dB. We recommend evaluating it first.
※ Please be noted that maximum 6 seconds shall be waited after turning its power ON to get proper camera operation.
※ When an object like below is shot with Gain +12dB and over, horizontal noise could be noticeable on gray part.
This is caused by the characteristic of the sensor itself, and it can be reduced with lowering Gain.
We recommend evaluating it first.

□ The exposure time with manual shutter is to be calculated by 1H width of the output mode shown below and the
value set with the Address 24.
Calculation Formula ： Exposure Time =1H Width x Value set with the Address 24 +6.67µs

□ When a read-out period (FVAL=1) and the exposure start (start-up of Exposure Time) are overlapped, LVAL
and DVAL output Low for approx. 4H, and stop outputting images. In this case, Lo period (V Blanking width)
of FVAL will be shortened by 4H.
□ LVAL of FVAL outputs Lo for approx. 1H at start-up.
□ The delay time between the completion of exposure (The down edge of exposure time) to the start-up of
