1. Handling Precautions
1.1. Camera Handling Precautions
□ Do not use or store the camera in the extremely dusty or humid places.
□ Do not apply excessive force or static electricity that could damage the camera. Handle the camera with care.
□ Do not shoot direct images that are extremely bright (e.g., strong light source, sun, etc.). When strong light
such as spot light was shot, blooming or smear may occur. Put the lens cap on when camera is not in use.
□ Follow the instructions in Chapter 3.3, “External Connector Pin Assignment”for connecting the camera module.
Improper connection may cause damages not only to the camera module but also to the connected devices.
□ Confirm the mutual ground potential carefully before connecting the camera to monitors or computers. Any AC
leaks or coupling noises from the connected devices may cause damages or destroy the camera.
□ Do not apply excessive voltage. (Use only the specified voltage.) Unstable or improper power supply voltage
may cause damages or malfunction of the camera assembly.
□ The voltage ripple of camera power DC+10.8V~26.4V shall be within ±50mV. Improper power supply voltage
may cause noises on the video signals.
□ The rising time of camera power supply voltage shall be less than +10V, Max. 60ms. Please avoid noises like
chattering when rising.
□ Our warranty does not apply to damages or defects caused by irregular and/or abnormal use of the product.
1.2. Restrictions on Applications
□ The camera must not be used for any nuclear equipments or aerospace equipments with which mechanical
failure or malfunction could result in serious bodily injury or loss of human life.
□ The camera must not be used under conditions or environments other than specified in this manual.
1.3. Disclaimers (Exception Clause)
CIS shall be exempted from taking responsibility and held harmless for damages or losses incurred by the following cases.
□ In case damages or losses are caused by earthquake, lightning strike, fire, flood disaster, or other acts of God.
□ In case damages or losses are caused by deliberate or accidental misuse by the user, or failure to observe the
information contained in the instructions in this Product Specification and Operational Manual.
□ In case damages or losses are caused by repair or modification conducted by the customer or any unauthorized
party.

・ Execute "ROIQuickChangeOff" to get back to the Full size of 13264x9180.
・ The frame rates for each "ROIQuickChange(X size)x(Y size)" shall be as the chart below, “Preset ROI frame
rate”, depending on their image size, pixel format, and link rate.
□ Custom ROI
・ With Width, ROI size of X direction can be specified per 16 pixels. (The minimum value is 640).
※Some grabber boards can be used only with 32 pixels-unit (ex. Silicon Software board).
If such grabber boards are to be used, please specify the ROI size of X direction per 32 pixels.

4.8.2 External Sync Mode
□ This is a mode to input external trigger signals to capture images by any preferred timings.
□ Set "TriggerSelector" to "FrameStart".
□ This is a mode to exposure for the period set with “ExposureTime” when a trigger signal is input.
□ Set "TriggerActivation" to "RisingEdge" or "FallingEdge".
□ Trigger cycle needs to be longer than (The frame for exposure time +1).
※Fraction shall be rounded up to the nearest whole number to calculate. (Ex. In case of when exposure time is 1.5
frames, the trigger cycle shall be calculated as 2+1= 3 frames).
□ Trigger operation is CLK sync H-V Sync reset.
□ Trigger pulse width to be input shall be 30us ～the maximum exposure time.
□ The maximum exposure time depends on its ROI settings, “PixelFormat”, and link rate. For the details, please
refer to the Section 4.12. Exposure Time.
□ Due to image sensor’s own characteristics, the timing from when a trigger is input to the image sensor to when
the actual exposure starts, would be different according to its shutter speed settings (Reset Vscan). Especially,
please be noted that the higher speed shutter is, the longer time is needed to start exposure from the trigger.

4.9. Strobe Pulse Control
□ This is to output the timing for exposure or reading out.
Wide Strobe This is to output from the start of exposure to the completion of reading out.
Valid only when external trigger is used. (Always assert at free run).
Narrow Strobe This is to output from the completion of exposure to the start of reading out.
Valid only when long time exposure. (Always assert at standard exposure).
Manual Strobe This is to set rising edge and falling edge of signals with any preferred timing.

4.10. Exposure Time

Exposure time shall be set with the multiple number of 11.5us.
※If other than the multiple number of 11.5us was set, it shall be set to the nearest value.
When a longer exposure time than its frame rate was set, the frame rate becomes longer according to the
set exposure time. (Exposure time takes priority).
※When exposure time is 1.5 frames, it shall be rounded up so that its frame rate becomes 2 frames.
The maximum exposure time is 5 sec.

Functionally, gain up function is up to +8 times. However, the image quality will be reduced when gain setting is
increased. We recommend you to evaluate it first.
PresetGainX ：Preset gain
When a preset gain is set, it shall be reflected to manual gain. Manual gain setting values would never be
reflected to the preset values. Preset values cannot be data saved.

Once ：Automatically adjust white balance with one push.
Select Once of BalanceWhiteAuto to adjust white balance and return to Off state. Shoot no color uniform
object to entire screen to execute this function. Approx. 50% of signal level is recommended to execute.
※If luminance was changed, white balance would be out of adjustment. In such case, please re-execute
white balance.
BalanceRatioRed ：This is to set Red gain corresponds to Green gain within the range of x0 to x8.
BalanceRatioBlue：This is to set Blue gain corresponds to Green gain within the range of x0 to x8.
When BalanceWhiteAuto is OFF, Red gain and Blue gain corresponds to Green gain can be set to
BalanceRatioRed/BalanceRatioBlue with preferred values within the range of x0～x8.
When Once of BalanceWhiteAuto is selected, white balance is automatically adjusted and the new Red gain
and Blue gain shall be shown in BalanceRatioRed/BalanceRatioBlue.
When 1.0 is set for both BalanceRatioRed and BalanceRatioBlue, white balance becomes invalid.

4.14. Shading Correction
□ This is a function to correct the peripheral brightness lowering caused by the lens and others used.

Turn ShadingCorrection “ON” to start shading correction according to the shading correction data prepared
by shading detection.

Shoot a uniform object such as a pattern box, to full screen, and then execute DetectShading, to calculate the
correction data automatically in the camera.
〔Note〕
When detecting shading, make sure to turn OFF partial scan mode (ROI). The image size shall be set to
13264 x 9180 to execute.
Acquire correction data only when the camera is in operation. (Shading correction data cannot be
acquired if the camera is not outputting anything).
Execute UserSetSave to save the correction data.
4.15. Defective Pixels Correction
□ Defective pixels correction at EX-Factory.
CIS compensates the noticeable CMOS pixel defects found at the shipping inspection prior to our shipment.
This function can be OFF.
※When ROI is set, defective pixels correction function becomes invalid.

4.16. Noise Filter
□ This is a function to correct defective pixels in real time.

When set to OFF, correction function will be invalid.
When set to ValiableByGainMode, the value of ImpulseNoiseFilterThreshold changes corresponding to gain
settings (in the range of x1 to x8), and will be corrected by the internally set value in the camera.
When set to FixedValueMode, correction will be done with the value set by ImpulseNoiseFilterThreshold.
When set to OFF or ValiableByGainMode, the value of ImpulseNoiseFilterThreshold cannot be changed.
When set to FixedValueMode, the value of ImpulseNoiseFilterThreshold can be changed.
※There might be some bad effects due to excessive correction. Please check images to use.
ImpulseNoiseFilterThreshold
This is the threshold of defective pixels and its surrounding pixels. When the value exceeded its threshold in
plus and minus, the surrounding pixels are to be used to correct.
※When 1023 is set as the threshold, no defective pixel will be detected.
※Please check the images to adjust the threshold.

4.18. How to Save and Initialize the Settings
□ If you wish to save the setting values, execute “UserSetSave”. Doing so, the setting values shall be saved in the
camera non-volatile memory and the saved settings data shall be reflected when the camera is turned on next
time

UserSetSave ：This is to save the setting values of the camera
UserSetDefault ：This is to restore the camera setting values to the ex-factory settings.
□ When executing "UserSetDefault", set ConnectionConfig to "CXP3_X4" to execute.
□ Camera settings shall be restored to the factory settings right after completion of UserSetDefault. However,
there would be some cases that command indications are not updated depending on its indication software used.
Please make sure to update the command.
