1. Scope of Application
This is to describe VCC-5CL1M, 1-inch, 5.2M resolution, Camera Link B/W CMOS Camera.
All specifications contained herein are subject to change without prior notice. Reproduction in whole or in part is
prohibited.
2. Handling Precautions
The camera must not be used for any nuclear equipments or aerospace equipments with which mechanical failure
or malfunction could result in serious bodily injury or loss of human life. Our warranty does not apply to
damages or defects caused by irregular and/or abnormal use of the product.
Please observe all warnings and cautions stated below.
Our warranty does not apply to damages or malfunctions caused by neglecting these precautions.
zDo not use or store the camera in the following extreme conditions:
¾Extremely dusty or humid places.
¾Extremely hot or cold places (operating temperature –5 to +4℃5)℃
¾Close to generators of powerful electromagnetic radiation such as radio or TV transmitters.
¾Places subject to fluorescent light reflections.
¾Places subject to unstable (flickering, etc.) lighting conditions.
¾Places subject to strong vibration.
zRemove dust or dirt on the surface of the lens with a blower.
zDo not apply excessive force or static electricity that could damage the camera.
zDo not shoot direct images that are extremely bright (e.g., light source, sun, etc.), and when camera
is not in use, put the lens cap on.
zFollow the instructions in Chapter 6, “External connector pin assignment” for connecting the camera.
Improper connection may cause damages not only to the camera but also to the connected devices.
z Confirm the mutual ground potential carefully and then connect the camera to monitors or
computers. AC leaks from the connected devices may cause damages or destroy the camera.
z Do not apply excessive voltage. (Use only the specified voltage.) Unstable or improper power
supply voltage may cause damages or malfunction of the camera.

z The voltage ripple of camera power DC +12V±10% shall be within ±50mV. Improper power
supply voltage may cause noises on the video signals.
zThe rising time of camera power supply voltage shall be less than +10V, Max 60ms. Please
avoid noises like chattering when rising.
3. Product Outline
VCC-5CL1M is a Camera Link interfaced and 1-inch, 5.2M resolution industrial B/W video camera. The output
image corresponds to Camera Link Base, Medium, Full and Deca configurations.

※ This camera performs an automatic calibration at the start-up or the time of the following function
settings.
An input of the luminosity which exceeds a saturation level at the time of this automatic calibration may reduce
the white clip level and the setup level. In such a case, hold down an input image to the luminosity
(recommendation is a shading state) which is not saturated, then re-setup or reboot. The camera returns to a
normal state. In addition, this automatic calibration cannot be disabled.

・Use as open collector output. The sink current which flows into a camera should not exceed 50 mA. (Max
25V)
・Due to the delay of a photo coupler, several μs are delayed against the actual sensor exposure timing.
・When a pull up resistor is used, the delay time is subject to fluctuate due to a pull up voltage, a pull up
resistor and a connecting circuit of user’s circuit. Need to set up a value to become an appropriate waveform.

6.3. PoCL/CL Selection Switch
□ Power feeding is selectable from either PoCL or 12 pins circular connector. Please make sure that the
power is OFF when changing the switch setting
□ Power should only be supplied from the set mode selected by switch. Power supply from both mode
may cause malfunction or damage to the camera.
