Chapter 1 Basic Operation
1.Turn On theTV and Your DVD Player
Press the STANDBY button onthe player orthe remote control,and Read appears
on the TVscreen. If thereisn't a discin the DVDplayer, No disc will be displayedon
both the screen.
2.Place A Disc
Press the Open/ Close buttonon the remotecontrol or thefront of theDVD player,and
Open appears on the screen. Then Place a disc gently into the tray with the disc's label
facing up (double-sideddiscs have contenton both sides,so you canplace either sideup),
and press theOpen / Closebutton again toclose the disctray, Close appears and the player
starts to read.Then the discstarts playing automatically. (Note: On somecertain type discs,
after readingout the type,the Play orEnter button shouldbe pressed to start playing.)
3. Play
The contents ofeach disc menuvary according tohow the discwas authored andwhat
features are included.The disc menuwill be turnedon for youto select, whenthe Menu button
pressed. Also playand pause canbe switched withthe Pause buttonon the remote.Moreover,
such as menuplay, titleplay, sequenceplay etc., Thesedifferent play modesare offered.
a) Menu Play(compatible with DVDdiscs)
I. Press MenuButton
TV screen displaysthe DVD RootMenu when aDVD disc isloaded.
II. When aDVD disc isloaded, you canpress Arrow buttonsto highlight themenu item you
want to choose.
III. Press Enteror Play button,you can beginplay with thehighlighted.
IV.Return when playing: When a DVD disc is playing, press Menu button, and you
can return toRoot Menu.
V.Stop
1) When youpress Stop buttonfor the firsttime, the playerturns into quasistop state. At
the same timethe OSD appears Quasi Stop .To beginthe title over, press Stop twice.
2) In quasistop state, theplayer remembers whereyou stopped, whenyou start playingthe
disc again, theDVD player pickedup where youleft off.
3) In stopstate, when youpress Play,the player enters sequence playback mode.
For the discprotection, before youpress Open /Close button toeject the disctray when
playing, please pressStop button atfirst. After takingout the disc,press Open /Close
again to closethe tray.
If you're notgoing to usethe DVD playerfor a longtime, be sureto remove theelectronic
plug.
b) Title Play(compatible with DVD discs only)
I. During DVDplayback, press Title button todisplay the DVD title content.
II. Press theArrow buttons tohighlight the titleyou want tochoose, and pressEnter; Also
you can pressnumeric buttons tochoose.
III. The DVDplayer begins withthe chapter 1of the chosentitle.

Program Menu:
CD, CD+G, HD-CD,DTS-CD discs:
If PBC ison, this operationwill turn PBCoff while thechapters / tracksplays in prog-
rammed order.
According to thehighlight, use theNumeric buttons toenter the chapters / tracks in the
order you wantthem to play. Then press Play or useArrow buttons tohighlight the PLAY
item and pressEnter. Thechapters / tracks will play in the programmed order.
Youcan program maximum 16 titles / chapters / tracks.
According to theDirection Indicator onthe menu, youcan press Arrow buttons to high-
light where youwant to enter.
During Program Playback,if Program buttonpressed, the programmedorder and the
contents will bedisplayed on thescreen, and theProgram Playback will be stopped;
Also you canpress Stop andPlay to resumenormal playback.
c) Program Play(compatible with DVD, CD,CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA,MP3/
JPEG discs)
The Program Playback optionallows you toenter the orderin which youwant chapters or
tracks to play, maximum to16.
DVD, WMA, MP3/JPEGdiscs:
Notes:
Toclear the programmedorder, useArrow buttons tohighlight the CLEAR item, then
press Enter.
Tomodify the programmedorder, useArrow buttons tohighlight the modifyingitem and
enter the newchapter / trackyou want toprogram directly.

a) When playing a DVD disc, press Numeric buttons on the menu or title page to select tracks;
During DVD playback, you can input desired title number directly.
b) As for CD, CD+G, HD-CD, DTS-CD discs, press Numeric buttons directly to select tracks.
C) when playing wma, mp3 / jpeg discs, press numeric buttons to select different tracks on
current track list.
Notes: Toselect tracks from 1 to 10, press corresponding Numeric buttons (1-9, 10)
To select tracks above 10, press 10+ button. For example, to select the track 15, press
10+ and 5 button. If the selected track is not available, the input would be invalid.
a) To skip forward to the beginning of the next title / chapter / track on a disc, press Next on
the remote or the front of the player.
b) To skip backward to the beginning of the preceding title / chapter / track on a disc, press
Prev on the remote or the front of the player.
If a DVD disc is loaded, it varies according to how the disc was configed.
Chapter 2 Additional Operation
1. Selecting Tracks (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA, MP3 /JPEG
discs)
2. Skipping Tracks (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA, MP3/JPEG
discs)
3. Multi-speed Fast Motion Playback (compatible with DVD, CD, DTS-CD, WMA, MP3 /
JPEG discs)
You can search in forward or reverse mode during playback.
a) Press the F.F button on the remote during playback to search through a disc. Press the
button again on the remote to search at the next speed. Fast Forward Playback has four
speeds: 2, 4, 8, 20. With each consecutive press of the button, the search
speed increases. If you press the button five times, Fast Forward Playback cycles back
to normal playback. During DVD playback, when Fast Forward Playback gets to the
beginning of the next title / chapter, it resumes normal playback.
Press Play button to resume normal playback.
b) Press the F.R button on the remote during playback to search through a disc. Press the button
again on the remote to search at the next speed. Fast Reverse Playback has four speeds: 2,
4, 8, 20. With each consecutive press of the button, the search speed increases. If
you press the button five times, Fast Reverse Playback cycles back to normal playback.
During DVD playback, when Fast Reverse Playback gets to the beginning of the playing title
/ chapter, it resumes normal playback.
Press Play button to resume normal playback.
4. Multispeed Slow Motion Playback (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,
WMA, MP3/JPEG discs)
Press Slow button when pictures moving, you can enter Slow Motion Playback mode.
Press the Slow button on the remote during playback. Press the button again on the remote to
play at the next speed. Slow Motion Playback has six speeds: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7. With
each consecutive press of the button, the play speed decreases. If you press the button seven
times, Slow Motion Playback cycles back to normal playback.Press Play button to resume
normal playback

5. Freeze Frame and Frame Advance (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,
WMA, MP3/JPEG discs).
a) During CD, CD-G, HD-CD, DTS-CD, WMA or MP3 / JPEG playback, press Pause once to
freeze playback; Press the Pause button again or Play button to resume normal playback.
b) During DVD playback, press Pause once to freeze playback; Press of the Pause button
again to advance the picture one frame at a time; Press Play to resume normal playback.
6. Using the Repeat Feature (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA,
MP3/JPEG discs)
While a disc is playing, press Repeat button once, and the repeat banner appears to show current
repeat mode.
a) In CD, CD+G, HD-CD, DTS-CD, WMA, or MP3 / JPEG sequence playback mode, press
Repeat button again to turn on repeat mode.Press the button again on the remote to turn to
the next repeat mode. There are three repeat options: Off, Track Repeat, and Disc Repeat.
With each consecutive press of the button, the repeat mode switches. If you press the button
four times, repeat mode cycles back to Off.
b) In DVD playback, press Repeat button again to turn on repeat mode. There are three repeat
options: Off, Chapter Repeat, and Title Repeat. With each consecutive press of the button, the
repeat mode switches. If you press the button four times, repeat mode cycles back to Off.
c) In WMA, MP3 / JPEG playback, press Repeat button again to turn on repeat mode. There are
four repeat options: Off, Track Repeat, Directory Repeat, and Disc Repeat.With each consec-
utive press of the button, the repeat mode switches. If you press the button five times, repeat
mode cycles back to Off.
7. Using the Display Feature (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, WMA, MP3/
JPEG discs)
a) Loading and playing DVDs (two pages)
Press OSD button once to show the first page:
Disc Type,Title * / * (the playing title / total titles),Chapter * / * (the playing chapter / total
chapters),Elapsed Time of the Disc.
Press the button again to show the second page:
Language * / * (the serial number of playing language / the amount of optional languages)
or Off,Language Type, Audio Type,Subtitle * / * (the serial number of playing subtitle / the
amount of optional subtitles) or Off,Angle * / * (the serial number of playing angle / the am-
ount of optional angles) or Off.
Press the button for the third time, the display menu fades out.

b) Loading andplaying CD, CD+G,DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA,MP3 / JPEG discs
Press OSD buttononce to showthe first page:
Disc Type,Track * / * (the playing track / total tracks),Mute,Repeat Mode,ElapsedTime
of the PlayingTrack .
Press the buttonagain, the displaymenu fades out.
8. Using theSearch Feature (compatible with DVD,CD, DTS-CD, HD-CDdiscs)

Youcan use Searchfeature to selecta title /chapter / tracknumber or goto a specificpoint in
a title. Firstly, press Search (Goto) button on the remote controller to bring up the search menu
and enter theedit state; Secondly, press Arrow buttons to highlight the title / chapter / track
number or thetime option; Thirdly, use Numeric buttons to enter the title / chapter / track you
want to playor the elapsedtime you wantto go toin that title;At last, pressEnter button to
start playback. Forexample, entering 01:23:56will start playbackone hour, twenty-three
minutes and fifty-sixseconds into thetitle. If theinput number isillegal, the errorinformation
INVALIDKEY will be displayed on the screen.
Notes
I. This featuredoes not workin Program Playmode.
II. If PBC is on, itwill turn offautomatically when Search Playback starts.
III. When playing WMA, MP3 /JPEG discs, SearchFeature does notwork.

9. Using the Browse / Scan/ Index feature( compatible withCD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD
discs)
a).When aCD, CD+G, DTS-CD,or HD-CD discis loaded, accordingto the tracks'sequence
on the disc,each trackplays 15sec.
Youcan select atrack to startScan Playback bypress Numeric buttonson the remote.
To exitthe Scan Playback and resumes normal playback from the scanning track, press the
Play button.During normalplayback, press PREVbutton to startScan Playback from
current track (ifthe track hasplayed for morethan 15sec, it will start from the next track)
10. Changing theSoundtrack (compatible with CD+G, HD-CD, WMA, MP3/JPEG discs)
Press the L/ R buttonto display currentsound track.
a) Press the button can switch soundtracks.
b) Press the button again on the remote to turn to next sound track.
When playing aCD, CD+G, DTS-CD,HD-CD, WMA, orMP3 disc, thereare three: Stereo
(L/R), L/L, andR/R.
b) Press the MENU button again, that is to press the button during Browse Playback, the
screen displays bigpictures instead ofthumbnails. According tothe tracks' sequenceon
the disc, eachpicture plays 15sec.
Youcan select atrack to startIndex Playback bypress Numeric buttonson the remote.
To exitthe digest and resume normal playback from current track, press the Play button.
c) During normal playback, press the PBC button to show thumbnails of the currently
selected track.
If PBC ison, it will turn off automaticallywhen Browse Playbackstarts.
To viewthe next nine thumbnails, press the Next button to go forward and the PREV button
to go tothe previous page.
To exitthe digest and resume normal playback from the current picture, press the Play button.
Each thumbnail hasa number inthe corner.Youcan select andplay a picture by press that
number on theremote.
d) If youstop, press PBCyou can browsenine picture forthe disc, Duringnormal playback by
press MENUt, youcan browse thecurrent track ninepictures.
11. Changing the AudioLanguage (compatible with DVD discs)
During disc playback,press Language onthe remote once,and the audiolanguage info banner
appears. When aDVD is recordedwhit multiple soundtracks,you can usethe Lang-uage feature
to temporarily changethe audio language(the language ofthe soundtrack) Thereare 3 supporte
d languages: English, French, Spanish.
With eachconsecutive press ofthe Language button, the audio language switches and the
corresponding serial numberappears on thescreen. For example, Language Icon: [1English
DTS 6CH] or[Off] (the availabilityof the languages are disc-dependent).

13. Changing the Camera Angle (compatible with DVD discs)
During disc playback, press Angle on the remote once, and the angel icon appears.Some
DVDs contain multipleangles of a particular scene or sequence, so you can use the Angle
feature to view.Press the Angle button again to go to the next camera angle. If multiple
camera angles are available, the Angle icon displays the current angle numberand the
number of angles available. For example: Angle Icon: [* / *] or [Off] ;1 / 4 indicates that
angle one is being displayed, and there are four different angles available. (This feature is
disc-dependent. If no additional camera angles are available, the Invalid Key will be
displayed.)
14. Mute the Audio Output (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD, WMA,
MP3/JPEG discs)
Pressing the Mute button allows you to reduce sound to an inaudible level, and MUTE will be
displayed on screen. Press the button again or press the Vol +/- button to return to the normal
condition.
Notes:
When mute, the microphone also has no audio output.
If the player playback disc without sound, please try to press Mute button to resume.
15. Zoom In the Video Image (compatible with DVD, JPEG discs)
a) The Zoom Function allows you to enlarge or zoom out the video image and to pan though the
image. Press Zoom repeatedly to activate the function and choose the required zoom factor:
Zoom 2, Zoom 3, Zoom 4, Zoom 1/2, Zoom 1/3, Zoom 1/4, Zoom Off.
Notes:
This feature does not work when the Disc Menu appears.
b) Use the Arrow buttons to pan across the screen when the zoom factor is 2, 3 or 4.
12. Subtitles (compatible with DVD discs)
Press the Subtitle button on the remote once, and the subtitle info banner appears. When a
DVD is recorded with subtitles, you can use the Subtitle feature to view the sub-titles on
screen. By default, subtitles are off. The info banner will display Subtitle Off. To display
subtitles, press the Subtitle button again. The default language with its corresponding serial
number will be displayed in the info banner and subtitles will be displayed in that language.
There are 3 supported subtitles: English, French, Spanish
With each consecutive press of the Subtitle button, the subtitle switches.
For example, Language Icon: [1 English DTS 6CH] or [Off] (the availability of the subtitles
are disc-dependent). Toturn subtitles off, press the Subtitle button until Subtitle Off is
displayed.

When playing a CD disc, you can repeat a specific segment only in one track. When the next
track begins, A-BRepeat turns offautomatically.
When playing aDVD disc, youcan repeat aspecific segment onlyin one title/ chapter.
16. Repeat a Specific Segment on the Disc that You Define (compatible with DVD, CD,
CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,WMA, MP3 discs)
a) During the normal or fast motion playback, press the A-B button once, and REPEAT A-
will appears onthe screen. Thisindicates the startof the loop to be repeated.
b) During the normal of fast motion playback, press A-B again, and REPEATA-B will
appears on thescreen. It indicatesthe end ofthe loop.
Looping will runfrom set pointA to setpoint B untilyou turn offRepeat.
C) Press A-B again to cancel A-B loop mode.
17. Volume control (compatiblewith DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,
WMA, MP3/JPEG discs)
You can press the Volumebutton on thefront of TVset or theamplifier to controlthe
sound level.
Pressing the Vol+ button onthe remote allowyou to amplifythe sound level;Pressing
Vol-will reduce thesound level.
Notes:
During DVD PCMoutput playback, thisfeature does notwork.

18. FUN control(compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,
WMA, Mp3 discs)
Press FUN button,you can selectMIC Volume, ECHO Volume, MAIN volume,and the a
Press VOL+ buttonto increase, PressVol- to decrease.
19. KEY (TONE) CONTROL (compatible with DVD, CD, CD+G, DTS-CD, HD-CD,
WMA, Mp3 discs)
Press button to fall tone. Press button to rise tone.
Use this function you can get better karaoke effect.

Chapter 3 Playing WMA, MP3 and JPEG discs
Place a MP3/ JPEG discinto the tray, and the player will auto search the directories saved
MP3 / JPEGfiles. After searching,it will autogo to thefirst directory savedMP3 files (to
the disc containingboth MP3 andJPEG files; To the disc containing single type of files, it

III. In FileSwitch Region, youcan press theLeft and Rightarrow buttons to switch the hig-
hlight, then pressEnter; the (Music) , (Play) ,and (JPEG) buttonis
illustrated in theabove picture.
For example, ifa disc withMP3 and JPEGfiles but withoutany NES files is loaded, the
color of theletter and willappear to whiteand black. Ifa MP3 fileplaying,
turns darker.
IV.To the disc with WMA, MP3 and JPEG files, when playing a JPEG picture, press the
Return button toreturn to JPEGlist.

V. Youcan press theNumeric buttons toselect the fileyou want toplay. Forexample, if you

Down to LeftUp, Spread fromCenter to Up/ Down, Foldfrom Up /Down to Center, Fold
from Left /Right to Center, Horizontal Shutter, Vertical Shutter,Fold from theCorners to
the Center,Random Play, Off.
VII. When apicture playing orpausing, press theArrow buttons tochange the display angle:
Up: flip vertical
Down: flip horizontal
Left: rotate 90counter-clockwise
Right: rotate 90clockwise
VIII. When apicture playing orpausing, Please pressSTOP button andthen press PBC button,
the screen displayssmall pictures. Upto 6 smallpictures are displayedper screen. To view
the next 6pictures, press the Next button to go forward andthe Prev buttonto go tothe
previous page. You can also select and play a picture in full screen by press that number
on the remote.

The system setupoptions are illustratedbelow:
TV SYSTEM
According to theColor System ofthe TV, you canchoose the TVSystem.
NTSC: Choose this settingsif your DVDplayer is connectedto a NTSC TV.
AUTO: Choose this settingsif your DVDplayer is connectedto a multi-system TV.
SCREEN SAVER
If the screensaver is on, when your DVD player is in Stop, Open, orNo Disc state,or there
is a framefrozen for more than 60sec, the screen saver willbe displayed. Thisfeature can
protect the screenfrom damage.
ON: Choose this setting to activate the screen saver.
OFF: Choose this setting to cancel the screen saver
The default setting is ON.

S-VIDEO: Choose this settingif your DVDplayer is connectedto the TVwith S-VIDEO
cable.
Interlace-YUV:Choose this settingif your DVDplayer is connectedto the TVwith
Y Cb Crvideo cable.

TV TYPE
4 : 3PS (Pan Scan): Choosing this setting if your DVD player is connected to a normal
ratio TV. You can fill the movie to the entire screen of your TV. This mightmean that
parts of the picture (the left and right edges) won't be seen.
4 : 3LB(Letter Box) :Choosing this settingif your DVDplayer is connectedto a normal
ratio TV. connector You'll see themovies in their original aspect ratio (height-to-width
ratio). You'll see theentire frame of the movie, but it will take up a smaller portion of the
screen vertically.
The movie mightappear with blackbars at thetop and bottomof the screen.
16 : 9(WideScreen) : Choose this setting if your DVD player is connected to a wide screen
TV.If you choosethis setting andyou don't havea wide screenTV,the images onthe screen
may appear distorted due to vertical compression.
Notes:
The image displayratio is relatedto the recordeddisc format. Somedisc can notdisplay
images in theaspect ratio youchoose.
If you playa disc recordedin 4:3 formaton a widescreen TV, black barswill appear on
the left andright side ofthe screen.
Youmust adjust the screen setting depending on the type of the television you have.
PASSWORD
The password optionis initialized locked,and you cannotset the ratingslimit or changethe
password. In orderfor the Ratingsfeature work, thepassword mode mustbe turned on.If you
want to setthe ratings limit,you will needto enter thedefault password, whichis 0000, then
press Enter toconfirm. Tochange the password, you will be prompted for the old password,
then be promptedfor a new. Enter a 4-digit number (this is your password).

RATING
The Rating featureis a ratinglimit system, likemovie ratings. It works with DVD discs that
have been assigneda rating. Thishelps you controlthe types of DVDs that your family
watches.
Notes:
If the passwordoption is locked,you cannot setthe ratings limit;the rating limit does not
work when thepassword option unlocked.
b) LANGUAGE SETUP
The language setupoptions are illustratedbelow:
Highlight the OSDLANGUAGE option, andpress the Arrowbuttons to choosethe OSD
language you prefer. Press Enter to confirm, and it will display OSD in that language;
There are 2optional OSD languages:English, French.

If your preferredlanguage isn't available,the disc's defaultlanguage will be played.

c) AUDIO SETUP

AUDIO OUT
Highlight the AUDIOOUT option, andpress the Arrowbuttons to choosethe audio output
mode you prefer. Press Enter to confirm; There are 3 optional audio output modes:
SPDIF/OFF, SPDIF/ RAW, and SPDIF/ PCM.
SPDIF/ OFF: From the CoaxialOutput jack, nosignal is output.
SPDIF/ RAW: Choose this setting if your DVD player is connected to a power amplifier
with a coaxialcable or anoptical cable; Whenplaying a disc recorded with Dolby Digital,
DTS and MPEGaudio formats, thecorresponding digital signalswill be output from the
Coaxial Output jack. This player'sdigital output jacksare designed for a connection to a
Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEGreceiver or decoder. For the dts CD there is no RAW output
only PCMoutput
SPDIF / PCM:Choose this settingif your DVDplayer is connectedto a 2-channel digital
stereo amplifier; Whenplaying a discrecorded with Dolby Digital and MPEG audio formats,
audio signals willbe modulated intoa 2-channel PCMsignal, and it will be output from the
Coaxial Output jack.
KEY
Use the Upand Down arrowbutton to movethe scroll andadjust the key.
