plug. If cord is damaged in any way, discontinue using the product. Replace or repair
damaged cords.

9. Do not clean this product with a water spray or similar method.

circuit-interrupter (GFCI).
11. If the unit is malfunctioning, unplug it and contact the manufacturer.
12. Do not place unit in an area where it can fall into water or near flammable materials.
Do not clean unit with water or liquid.
13. Avoid looking directly into the UV light.
14. Do not insert any foreign objects into the unit including fingers while it is connected
to an electrical outlet.
15. Disconnect plug before cleaning, servicing and changing bulbs or when not in use.
16. Store product indoors when not being used.
17. Do not carry unit by cord. Unplug unit by pulling on the plug, not the cord. Keep cord
away from sharp edges, heat and flammable items.
18. Do not mount this unit on or near heat or other flammable materials.
19. Insects accumulating within base of the unit may contribute to fire. Clean dead in-
sects from unit frequently as noted in this manual.

POWER SUPPLY CORD:
1. This device is equipped with a 2-prong plug to fit proper type receptacles. To reduce
the risk of fire or injury, only plug into a properly installed outlet.
2. Extension cords if needed for this product must be marked with sux letters “W-A”
and with a tag stating “Suitable for use with outdoor appliances”.
3. Connections between power supply cord and extension cord if used should be kept
o the ground and dry.

Flying insects will always be more attracted to humans than to lights, however they will
gravitate to the strongest light source in the area.
We suggest when Flying insects are very aggressive in your area, try and stay away
from the bug zapper for a few days with only the light of the zapper on. This will help
lure them into its trap and kill off the majority of insects. Depending on the insect
population, two weeks or more may be necessary to significantly reduce the population.
When determining where to place the unit for best results, locate a spot away from human
activity. Select a location within the insect’s natural habitat including near bushes, low
trees and ground coverage such as Ivy. This will ensure the best possible results. Device
should also be placed between 6’-7’ above the ground using the included chain. Suitable
hanging locations include from a tree, mounting pole, or other free standing object.

1. Unpack unit and save all packaging material for storage when season is over.
2. Select the proper location as noted in above instructions.
3. Plug the cord into a compatible extension cord if needed as noted in above
electrical instructions.
4. Once plugged into powered outlet, the device is active. UV lights should
illuminate and zapper is ready for use.
5. If using removable bottom tray, make sure to clean the tray often of dead insects.
6. If using over natural setting, remove tray permanently (see instructions below) to
allow zapped insects to fall freely through onto the ground. This will eliminate the
need to clear away dead insects that can build up inside the tray.
7. If zapping grid shows signs of accumulation of dead insects on the live electrified
grid, occasional cleaning of wire grid may be required (see further instructions
detailing this process).
8. It is recommended that this unit be placed into use from early Spring until late
Fall for best results.
9. The device is designed to withstand moderate rain. If severe weather is expected,
it is recommended to remove this device and store indoors until severe weather
has passed.
10. Unplug device when not in use.
REMOVING & CLEANING BOTTOM TRAY:
MAINTENANCE
Removal of bottom tray when unit is placed in yard eliminates the need to empty bottom
tray for insect removal.
If bottom tray is intended to contain dead insects from falling to ground, tray should be
emptied frequently. Use caution and use gloves when opening tray as some dead insects
potentially may fall out of tray upon removal.
To remove tray:
twist bottom tray,
counter clockwise
and pull down.
USING THE BUG ZAPPER:
The CBZ1J Electronic Bug Zapper exterior housing does not require cleaning. Periodic
rainfall will clean the exterior. Do not attempt to clean the housing with water or spray or
any other liquids.

• In areas with large insect populations, electric
grid may begin to accumulate dead insects on
the grid that can aect the function of the device.
To ensure eective use of this device periodic
cleaning of electric grid with included brush may
be necessary.
• Rate of cleaning depends on insect population in
your area.
1. Unplug the device and remove unit from hanging position and allow it to sit for three
hours to allow all electricity in unit to disperse.
2. Access grid through the open slots in grill as shown using included cleaning brush and
gently brush away dead insects so they fall down into the lower tray for removal.
3. Never use water to clean the unit as this can cause damage to the electronics.
4. Use care and make sure not to move the metal electric grid.
5. Return unit to hanging position and plug back in.
ELECTRIC GRID CLEANING:
WARNING:
Always unplug your Bug Zapper before cleaning to
avoid electric shock. When cleaning electric grid, only
use included cleaning brush to avoid any risk of shock
or injury. Ignoring this warning may result in death or
injury.

1. To prepare for bulb replacement, unplug unit and allow it to sit for three hours to
allow the electrical charge within the unit to dissipate.
2. Twist the base tray as indicated in previous instructions. (Fig. 1)
3. Unsnap bulb locator bracket located under unit to gain access to bulb. (Fig. 2)
4. Wearing gloves, gently tug on the bulb to remove. (Fig. 3)
5. Replace bulb only with proper Coby replacement bulb.
6. Wearing gloves, insert replacement bulb making sure it is properly seated into socket
that it was removed from.
7. Gently apply downward pressure on bulb until bulb snaps into socket securely.
8. Insert bulb bracket back into housing aligning so it fits snugly over base of bulb.
9. If using base tray, twist back into place on bottom of unit.
10. Plug in to test replaced bulb functions properly.
HOW TO REPLACE BULB:
NOTE: Bulb contains mercury, dispose of properly.

NOTE: If device fails to light after bulb replacement, unplug device, and following the
instructions above ensure that the bulb was correctly installed, and re-assemble
unit.

Device does not light but appears to have voltage through the electrical grid:
•Unplug unit and check if bulb is properly seated in socket.
•Unplug unit and replace bulb if necessary.
Device does not light and electrical grid does not appear to have voltage:
•Ensure device is plugged into a functioning outlet.
Device appears to be functioning (light and zapper work) but insect population does not
appear to have been reduced:
•Move unit to another area in yard for better results.
•Allow more time. It can take several weeks for device to aect the insect population
depending on the density of insects.
•Check surrounding area to ensure there are no features that may be drawing the insects
to your location. Examples include standing water, refuse and bright lights that may
compete with the light output of this unit.
Unit is sparking/arcing constantly:
•Unplug the unit and clean the electric grid of the device as instructed previously in
Electric Grid Cleaning (Pg. 5)

1. Check to make sure that the zapper is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove the plug
from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely.
2. Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to be
operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance.

Do not try to adjust or repair the zapper yourself. Component parts shall be replaced
with like components. Servicing shall be done by factory authorized service personnel
to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.

Coby brand is used under license. Any repair, replacement, or warranty service, and all questions about this
product should be directed to W Appliance Co. at 1 [phone] from the USA or Puerto Rico.
W Appliance Co. warrants to the original purchaser that the product will be free from defects in material, parts and
workmanship for the period designated for this product. The warranty commences the day the product is purchased and
covers up to a period of 1 year (12 months) for labor/1 year (12 months) for parts (manufacturing defects only)/carry in
service.
W Appliance Co. agrees that it will, at its option, replace the defective product with either a new or remanufactured toaster
oven equivalent to your original purchase during the warranty period.

ALIMENTATION ÉLECTRIQUE:
1. Cet appareil est équipé d’une fiche à 2 broches pour s’adapter aux prises de type
approprié. Pour réduire le risque d’incendie ou de blessure, branchez uniquement
dans une prise correctement installée.

CONFIGURATION ET UTILISATION
EMPLACEMENT APPROPRIÉ:
EXIGENCES ÉLECTRIQUES
Les insectes volants seront toujours plus attirés par les humains que par les lumières,
mais ils graviteront vers la source lumineuse la plus puissante de la région.
Nous suggérons que quand les insectes Volants sont très agressifs dans votre région,
essayez de rester à l’écart du tue mouche pendant quelques jours avec seulement la
lumière du tue mouche allumé. Ceci aidera à les attirer dans son piège et à tuer la
majorité des insectes. Selon la population d’insectes, deux semaines ou plus peuvent
être nécessaires pour réduire considérablement la population.
Pour déterminer où placer l’unité pour de meilleurs résultats, localisez un endroit éloigné
de l’activité humaine. Sélectionnez un emplacement dans l’habitat naturel de l’insecte,
y compris près des buissons, des arbres bas et une couverture au sol comme le Lierre.
Ceci garantira les meilleurs résultats possibles. L’appareil doit également être placé entre
6’ et 7’ au-dessus du sol à l’aide de la chaîne incluse. Les emplacements de suspension
appropriés incluent un arbre, un poteau de montage ou tout autre objet autoportant.

1. 1. Déballez l’unité et gardez tout le matériel d’emballage pour le rangement quand la
saison est terminée.
2. Sélectionnez l’emplacement approprié comme indiqué dans les instructions ci-dessus.
3. Branchez le cordon dans une rallonge compatible si nécessaire, comme indiqué dans
les instructions électriques ci-dessus.
4. Une fois branché sur une prise secteur, l’unité est actif. Les lampes UV devraient
s’allumer et le tue mouche est prêt à l’emploi.
5. Si vous utilisez le bac inférieur amovible, assurez-vous de nettoyer le bac souvent des
insectes morts.
6. Si vous utilisez dans un cadre naturel, enlevez le bac de façon permanente (voir les
instructions ci-dessous) pour permettre aux insectes zappés de tomber librement au
sol. Ceci éliminera le besoin d’éliminer les insectes morts qui peuvent s’accumuler à
l’intérieur du bac.
7. Si la grille tue mouche montre des signes d’accumulation d’insectes morts sur la grille
électrifiée sous tension, un nettoyage occasionnel du grillage métallique peut être
nécessaire (voir les instructions supplémentaires détaillant ce processus).
8. Il est recommandé de mettre cette unité en service du début du Printemps à la fin de
l’Automne pour de meilleurs résultats.
9. L’appareil est conçu pour résister à une pluie modérée. En cas de mauvais temps, il
est recommandé de retirer cette unité et de le ranger à l’intérieur jusqu’à ce que les
intempéries soient passées.
10. Débranchez l’unité lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.
RETRAIT ET NETTOYAGE DU BAC INFÉRIEUR:
ENTRETIEN
Le retrait du bac inférieur quand l’unité est placée dans la cour élimine le besoin de vider
le bac inférieur pour éliminer les insectes.
Si le bac inférieur est destiné à contenir des insectes morts qui tombent au sol, le bac doit
être vidé fréquemment. Soyez prudent et utilisez des gants lors de l’ouverture du bac car
certains insectes morts peuvent potentiellement tomber du bac lors du retrait.
Pour retirer le bac:
tournez le bac
inférieur dans le
sens antihoraire et
tirez vers le bas.
COMMENT UTILISER:
Le boîtier extérieur du CBZ1J Tue Mouche Électronique ne nécessite pas de nettoyage.
Des pluies périodiques nettoieront l’extérieur. N’essayez pas de nettoyer le boîtier avec de
l’eau, un jet ou tout autre liquide.

• Dans les zones à forte population d’insectes, le
grillage électrique peut commencer à accumuler
des insectes morts sur le grillage, ce qui peut
aecter le fonctionnement de l’unité. Pour garantir
une utilisation ecace de cette unité, un nettoyage
périodique du grillage électrique avec la brosse
incluse peut être nécessaire.
• Le taux de nettoyage dépend de la population
d’insectes dans votre région.
1. Débranchez l’unité et enlevez l’unité de sa position de suspension et laissez-le reposer
pendant trois heures pour permettre à toute l’électricité de l’unité de se disperser.
2. Accédez à la grille par les fentes ouvertes du gril comme illustré à l’aide de la brosse de
nettoyage incluse et brossez doucement les insectes morts pour qu’ils tombent dans le
bac inférieur pour être enlevés.
3. N’utilisez jamais d’eau pour nettoyer l’unité car cela peut endommager l’électronique.
4. Soyez prudent et assurez-vous de ne pas déplacer la grille électrique métallique.
5. Remettez l’unité en position de suspension et rebranchez-la.
NETTOYAGE DU GRILLAGE ÉLECTRIQUE:
AVERTISSEMENT:
Débranchez toujours votre Tue Mouche avant de le
nettoyer pour éviter les chocs électriques. Lors du
nettoyage du grillage électrique, utilisez uniquement
la brosse de nettoyage incluse pour éviter tout risque
d’électrocution ou de blessure. Ignorer cet avertisse-
ment peut entraîner la mort ou des blessures.

1. Pour préparer le remplacement de l’ampoule, débranchez l’unité et laissez-le reposer
pendant trois heures pour permettre à la charge électrique de l’unité de se dissiper.
2. Tournez le bac de base comme indiqué dans les instructions précédentes. (Fig. 1)
3. Détachez le support de localisation de l’ampoule situé sous l’unité pour accéder à
l’ampoule. (Fig. 2)
4. En portant des gants, tirez doucement sur l’ampoule pour la retirer. (Fig. 3)
5. Remplacez l’ampoule uniquement par une ampoule de remplacement Coby appro-
priée.
6. En portant des gants, insérez l’ampoule de rechange en vous assurant qu’elle est cor-
rectement insérée dans la douille dont elle a été enlevée.
7. Appliquez doucement une pression vers le bas sur l’ampoule jusqu’à ce que l’ampoule
s’enclenche fermement dans la douille.
8. Réinsérez le support de l’ampoule dans le boîtier en l’alignant afin qu’il s’adapte par-
faitement à la base de l’ampoule.
9. Si vous utilisez le bac de base, remettez-le en place au bas de l’unité.
10. Branchez-la pour tester correctement les fonctions de l’ampoule remplacée.
REMARQUE: Si l’unité ne s’allume pas après le remplacement de l’ampoule, débranchez
l’unité et en suivant les instructions ci-dessus, assurez-vous que l’ampoule a
été correctement installée et réassemblez l’unité.
COMMENT REMPLACER L’AMPOULE:
REMARQUE: L’ampoule contient du mercure, éliminez-la correctement.
