General safety instructions
1. Keeptheworking area tidy. Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Donot use themachine in dangerous environments. Themachine should not be used on moist or wet
surfaces or in rain. Makesure that thework area is well lit. Whenworking in dusty atmospheres, make
sure that theair is adequately circulated. Donot operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in
thepresence of flammable liquids, gases ordust.
3. Avoidelectric shocks. Avoidbody contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators when using powertools.
4. Keepchildren and bystanders away. Keepchildren and visitors at asafe distance from electrical machi-
nery/tools and electric cables in theworkplace.
5. Storepower tools out of thereach of children. Whennot in use, power tools should be stored locked
away in asafe place, away from children.
6. Donot force themachine. Thecorrect feed rate makes thework better andsafer.
7. Usethecorrect tool for thejob. Donot force atool to perform atask that it was not designed for.
8. Wearsuitable attire. Donot wear any loose-fitting clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or other jewellery
that can get caught in moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wearahairnet or similar if you have
longhair.
9. Alwayswear safety glasses. Normalglasses are not tough enough to withstand impacts. Useadust mask
or dust filter when working in dusty environments.
10.Connect dust extraction equipment. Ifthemachine is equipped with dust extraction equipment, ensure
that it is connected and used properly. Makesure to empty thedust bag regularly.
11.Donot abuse themains lead. Donot carry themachine by its mains lead. Donot yank themains lead to
turn thepower off, pull theplug out instead. Makesure that themains lead does not come into contact with
heat, oil, or sharpedges.
12.Securetheworkpiece firmly. Wherepossible, use clamps or avice. Youcan then operate thetool using
two hands. Thisis much safer than holding theworkpiece in onehand.
13.Donot overreach. Makesure that you stand steady and balanced alltimes.
14.Lookafter your tools. Keepblades sharp and clean for thebest and safest performance. Followtheinstruction
manual’s recommendations regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories. Inspect themains lead regularly.
Ifit is damaged it should be replaced by aqualified service technician. Inspect all leads and cables regularly to check
for any damage. Makesure that themachine’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
15.Turnthepower off. Pullout theplug and push in theemergency stop button before servicing or changing
any blades, drill bits, cutters or sanding discs.

16.Removeall spanners and repair tools. Makeahabit of checking to make sure that themachine is free of
all spanners and tools before turning thepoweron.
17.Avoidaccidental starts. Donot walk around with your finger on thetrigger of apower tool if it is plugged in.
Makesure that theon/off switch is set to OFF before plugging in any powertool.
18.Usethecorrect extension leads. Ifyou use extension leads outdoors, only use those designed for outdoor
use. Onlyuse extension leads with thick enough diameter core wires and roll out thewholelead.
19.Usecommon sense and be careful. Thinkcarefully before carrying out every action, so that it is carried out
safely. Neveroperate machines/power tools when you are tired or under theinfluence of medicine.
20.Inspect thetool for damage. Beforestarting thetool, make sure that theguards and other parts are unda-
maged and working properly, that moving parts can rotate freely and are correctly aligned, that no moving
parts can get caught and that there is no fault or defect that could affect theperformance of themachine.
Asafety guard or any other part that is damaged should be repaired by atradesman or replaced. Damaged
power leads and switches must always be replaced by atradesman. Neveroperate atool if you cannot stop
or start thetool comfortably.
21.Useonly recommended accessories. Theuse of non-recommended accessories can cause accidents
and personal injury.
22.Repairs should only be carried out by aqualified repair person using genuine identical replacement parts.
23.Allpower tools should be connected to themains via aportable residual current device (PRCD).
Theproduct must not be modified or used for any other purpose than that for which it has been designed.
Regularly check that all screws and nuts are securely tightened.
Specic safety instructions for log splitters
• The log splitter is only intended to be used by one operator at atime. Thelog splitter must not be operated
by more than one person at atime.
• Locate thelog splitter on dry, level ground which is not slippery.
• Make sure that branches are cut off flush with thelog before splitting.
• Save theinstruction manual, make sure that it accompanies thelog splitter if it is borrowed.
• Split wood in thedirection of thegrain. Donot attempt to split wood across thegrain.
• Read thewarning labels on thelog splitter and make sure that they are legible.
• Make sure that theelectrical socket you intend to use has thecorrect voltage (230 V) before connecting
thelog splitter.
• Never attempt to adjust theforce setting yourself. Thelog splitter is pre-set at thefactory for amaximum
splitting force of 6 tonnes.
• Tampering with thepressure settings can lead to diminished performance and damage to themachine and
result in serious person injury.
• Do not attempt to split two logs at thesametime.
• Never attempt to right aleaning log with your hand whilst theram is in motion. Stopthemachine and move
thelog so that it is standing vertically.
• Never attempt to hold alog with your hand whilst theram is in motion.
• If alog jams or fails to be split because it exceeds thecapacity of theram, release both control levers and let the
ram return to its original position, otherwise there is arisk that themotor will become damaged by overheating.
• Switch off thelog splitter and disconnect it from themains supply whenever you take abreak and before
starting any maintenance procedures. Makesure that log splitter cannot be started by any children or unaut-
horised person.
• Make sure that all thesafety features on thelog splitter are correctly fitted and functioning properly.
• Wear safety glasses, ear defenders and safety shoes if necessary.
• Always stand in such away that you can perform all work tasks whilst maintaining good balance and grip
thecontrol levers in bothhands.
• Keep your hands and fingers well away from theand splitting wedge. Whenoperating machines, always use
your common sense and be careful.
• Make sure that there are no bystanders or pets close to themachine, sharp splinters can be ejected by
theblade with greatforce.
• Connect thelog splitter to awall socket via anRCD.
• Never use thelog splitter in therain or wet conditions.

• Never use thelog splitter if thepower switch, plug, mains lead or any other part is damaged.
Thedefective part must be replaced by aqualified repair person.
• Make sure that this instruction manual always accompanies theproduct and that it is kept accessible and legible.
• Make sure that everyone who uses theproduct has read and understood theentire instruction manual.
• Always be alert and careful when operating theproduct. Thinkcarefully before carrying out every action, so
that it is carried out safely. Neveruse theproduct when you are tired, sick or under theinfluence of alcohol,
drugs or medicine.
Other safety symbols
Warning: Do not overreach. Keepproper footing and balance at alltimes. Neverstack your
logs in such away that you need to stretch to reachthem. Onlyuse your hands to operate
thelog splitter. Neveruse other parts of thebody or devices which could enable your hands
to become crushed between thesplitting wedge and thelog. Payattention to themove-
ment of thehydraulic ram at alltimes. Neverstack logs on top of each other and try to split
two atonce. Neverattempt to load alog into thelog splitter while theram is in motion.
Keephands away from movingparts.
Warning: Keep your hands clear of theram when it is returning after it has split thelog.
Thelog splitter is designed to stop only when theram has returned to its original position.
Keepyour hands away from any splits and cracks which open inlogs. Theymay close
suddenly which could cause serious personal injury. Neverattempt to remove jammed logs
byhand.
Consider theenvironment, dispose of waste oil in accordance with local regulations.
Make sure that thelog splitter is undamaged, that none of thesafety features are missing and
that they are fitted correctly and working. Neveroperate thelog splitter if any of thesafety
features is damaged or missing. Checktheoil level before starting thelog splitter.

Important
Always get someone to help you assemble thelog splitter. Thelog splitter is heavy and it will be easier and
safer if two people carry out theassembly.
When splitting logs however, you must always operate thecontrols of themachine by yourself. Twopeople
must never operate themachine at thesametime.

Before starting
• The log splitter should be placed on afirm and level surface.
• Inspect thelog splitter to make sure that all nuts and bolts are securely tightened and that there is no visible
damage to themains lead, theplug or thepower switch.
• Connect themains lead to anearthed wall socket. Thewall socket should be protected by aresidual current
device (RCD) with anactuating current of 30mA. Donot route themains lead where it could be damaged or
where someone could trip overit.
Splitting a log
• Always place theleast knotty end of thelog toward
thewedge, always split along thegrain.
• Lay thelog as stably as possible between thelog
retaining plates.
• Start themotor by pressing and holding in the
power switch.
• Start thehydraulic ram by depressing thecontrollever.
• The hydraulic ram will now force thelog against
thesplittingwedge.
• Release thecontrol lever and thepower switch to
discontinue thesplitting operation, thereturn springs
will now return theram to its starting position.
Important: If thewood does not start to split after 5 seconds despite full pressure: release thecontrol lever
and thepower switch and let theram return to thestarting position. Turnthelog through 90 degrees and try to
split itagain.
Important: Unscrew thebleed screw 3 or 4 turns
to ensure adetectable flow of air to theoil tank while
thelog splitter is in operation.

If the log jams
Care, maintenance and storage
• Always unplug themains lead from thewall socket before any servicing or cleaning.
• Clean all theparts of thelog splitter with abrush and dryrags.
• Always unplug thelog splitter and store it in adry, clean and non-corrosive environment out of children’s
reach whenever it is not inuse. Makesure that thestorage temperature does not fall below −25 °C.
• Make sure that thebleed screw is closed before thelog splitter is moved or put away, otherwise oil could
leakout. Ifthebleed screw is left open when thelog splitter is stored away, theoil will absorb moisture from
theair which can lead to corrosion within thehydraulic system.
• The splitting wedge should be kept sharp by filing it regularly with afine-toothedfile.
• Stop thelog splitting operation.
• When theram has returned to thestar-
ting position: place awooden wedge
under thejammedlog.
• Start thelog splitter and force thewedge
under thelog using theram.
• Repeat theprocedure with alarger
wedge if necessary.
Important: Never try to dislodge alog
which is under tension, it could split and fly
off with great force and damage thelog split-
ter or cause aninjury.

Checking the oil level/changing the oil
Important: Always get someone to help you change/check theoil. Itwill be easier and safer if two
people are involved and can assist eachother.
The first oil change should take place after 50 hours of operation and thereafter after every 250 hours of operation.
Checking the oil level
1. Remove thewheeled left support legs and stand
thelog splitter on its end as shown in thepicture.
3. Unscrew thedipstick and wipe itclean.
Insert thedipstick into theoil cylinder but do not screw iton. Remove thedipstick and check theoil
level. Theoil level should be between thetwo grooves on thedipstick.
4. Screw thedipstick back inagain. Donot overtighten thedipstick, doing so could damage theseal.

stick is clean and free from dust and debris.

Changing the oil
1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in theChecking theoil level sectionabove.
2. Suction out theoil using anoil suctionpump. Taketheused oil to your local household recycling site for
safe disposal.
3. Replace theold oil with new oil (3.2 litres of hydraulic oil).
4. Check theoil level and screw thedipstick back onagain. Donot overtighten thedipstick, doing so
could damage theseal.
Troubleshooting guide
The log doesn’tsplit. • Log improperly positioned. Turnthelog
around or rotateit.
• The log is too big or toohard.
• The wedge is blunt or damaged. Sharpen
thewedge (refer to theCare, maintenance and
storage section).
• Oil pressure low, check theoil level (refer to
theCare, maintenance and storage section).
The hydraulic ram moves jerkily,
makes strange noises
and vibrates heavily.

Generella säkerhetsregler
1. Hållarbetsutrymmet rent. Belamrade ytor och bord inbjuder till olyckor.
2. Användinte maskinen iriskfylld miljö. Elmaskiner ska inte användas på fuktiga, våta ytor eller vid regn.
Setill att belysningen är god iarbetsutrymmet. Sörjför god luftväxling vid dammande arbeten. Användaldrig
elektriska maskiner/verktyg där de kan förorsaka brand eller explosion.
3. Undvikelektrisk stöt. Undvikkroppskontakt med jordade föremål som vattenledning, element, köksspis etc.
samtidigt som du använder elmaskiner/verktyg.
4. Hållundan barn och besökare. Allabarn och besökare bör befinna sig på säkerhetsavstånd från
elmaskiner/verktyg eller elkablar iarbetsutrymmet.
5. Förvara maskinerna barnsäkert. Förvara elmaskiner/verktyg inlåsta eller utom räckhåll för barn när de inte
används.
6. Pressainte maskinen. Dengör jobbet bättre och säkrare med avsedd matningshastighet.
7. Användrätt verktyg. Pressainte ettverktyg eller entillsats att göra ettarbetsmoment som den inte är gjordför.
8. Bärlämplig klädsel. Bär intelöst sittande kläder, vantar, halsband, ringar, armband eller andra smycken som
kan fastna iroterande delar. Halksäkra skor rekommenderas. Bärhårnät eller motsvarande om du har långthår.
9. Bäralltid skyddsglasögon. Bäralltid skyddsglasögon, vanliga glasögon räcker inte. Använddammfilter eller
skyddsmask vid dammande arbeten.
10.Användutsug. Användutsugningsutrustning för att ta bort och samla damm och spån om maskinen är
avsedd för det. Setill att utrustningen används på rätt sätt och töms vidbehov.
11.Misshandla inte nätsladden. Bäraldrig maskinen inätsladden. Ryckinte isladden, utan dra istickproppen
när du bryter strömmen. Setill att nätsladden inte kommer ikontakt med värme, olja eller vassa kanter.
12.Sättfast ämnet ordentligt. Användtvingar eller skruvstycke där det går, då kan du hantera verktyget med
två händer. Detär säkrare än att hålla fast ämnet med ena handen.
13.Sträckdig inte för långt. Setill att du hela tiden står säkert med god balans.
14.Hållverktygen itrim. Setill att de är rena och eggarna vassa för optimal effekt och ettsäkert resultat.
Följbruksanvisningens rekommendationer för smörjning och byte av tillbehör. Kontrollera nätsladden
regelbundet, om den är skadad ska den bytas av enkvalificerad servicetekniker. Synaalla skarvsladdar regel-
bundet så att de inte är skadade. Setill att maskinens/verktygets handtag och reglage är torra, rena och helt
fria från olja, fettetc.
15.Slåav strömmen. Draur stickproppen och tryck in nödstopp före service och vid byte av tillbehör som
hyvelstål, borrar, skär, slipband ellerblad.
16.Tabort alla nycklar och serviceverktyg. Gördet till envana att kontrollera att alla nycklar och service-
verktyg är borttagna från maskinen innan du slår på strömmen.

17.Undvikoavsiktlig start. Bärinte ettverktyg med ettfinger på strömbrytaren/avtryckaren om sladden sitter
iett uttag. Setill att strömbrytaren står på OFF när du sätter in stickproppen.
18.Användrätt skarvsladdar. Omdu använder skarvsladdar utomhus, använd endast de som är avsedda för
utomhusbruk. Användskarvsladdar med tillräcklig ledararea och rulla ut hela sladden.
19.Användsunt förnuft och var försiktig. Tänkefter innan du utför ettarbetsmoment, så att du kan utföra det
på ettsäkert sätt! Användinte maskinen/verktyget när du är trött, påverkad av alkohol, mediciner etc.
20.Kontrollera att alla delar är oskadade. Kontrollera, innan du startar verktyget, att alla skydd och övriga de-
lar är oskadade och fyller sin funktion, att rörliga delar kan rotera fritt och är rätt inriktade, att inga rörliga delar
kan fastna, att ingen defekt eller andra omständigheter som kan påverka arbetets utförande har uppstått.
Ettskydd eller någon annan del som skadats ska repareras fackmässigt eller bytas ut. Skadade nätsladdar
och strömbrytare ska alltid bytas ut av fackman. Användaldrig verktyget om du inte kan stänga av eller starta
det på ettbetryggande sätt.
21.Användrekommenderade tillbehör. Användning av ej rekommenderade tillbehör kan vålla olyckor eller risk
för personskada.
22.Reparationer av verktyget ska alltid utföras av fackman, med originalreservdelar.
23.Elverktyg bör anslutas till elnätet via enjordfelsbrytare för personskydd (PRCD). Produkten får inte
ändras eller användas till arbetsmoment som den inte är avsedd för. Kontrollera regelbundet att alla skruvar
och muttrar är ordentligt åtdragna.

• Vedklyven får endast användas på plant underlag som inte ärhalt.
• Se till att alla kvistar och annat som finns på vedstycket tas bort före klyvning.
• Spara bruksanvisningen, se till att den medföljer vedklyven vid ev. utlåning.
• Se till att klyvning sker iträets fiberriktning. Läggaldrig vedstycket för att klyva det mot fiberriktningen.
• Läs vedklyvens varningsdekaler och se till att de är läsbara.
• Kontrollera att eluttaget har rätt spänning innan vedklyven ansluts (230 V).
• Försök aldrig att själv ändra tryckinställningen. Denär inställd på fabriken för att ge max tryckkraft på 6ton.
• Felaktig inställning kan leda till försämrad funktion eller till att allvarliga person- och maskinskador uppstår.
• Försök aldrig att klyva flera vedstycken samtidigt.
• Försök aldrig att rätta till ettlutande vedstycke med handen när kolven rör sig. Stängav och rätta till ved-
stycket så att det stårrakt.
• Försök aldrig att hålla iett vedstycke när kolven rörsig.
• Om ettvedstycke fastnar och inte går att klyva, släpp båda manöverhandtagen om inte kolven orkar, släpp
spakarna och låt kolven gå tillbaka, annars finns risk att motorn överhettas.
• Dra alltid ut nätsladdens stickpropp ur vägguttaget vid service och uppehåll iarbetet och se till att inga barn
eller annan obehörig kan starta vedklyven.
• Kontrollera att vedklyvens skyddsanordningar fungerar och är rätt monterade före användning.
• Använd skyddsglasögon, hörselskydd och skyddsskor vidbehov.
• Stå alltid så att du kan utföra alla arbetsmoment med god balans och håll manöverhandtagen med
bådahänderna.
• Håll händer och fingrar på säkert avstånd från tryckplatta och klyvkil. Använd, som alltid vid arbete med ma-
skiner, ditt sunda förnuft och var försiktig när du arbetar.
• Se till att inte människor och djur uppehåller sig inärheten av vedklyven, vassa träflisor kan flyga omkring
med storkraft.
• Anslut vedklyven till ettvägguttag via enjordfelsbrytare.
• Använd aldrig vedklyven iregn eller extremt fuktig väderlek.
• Använd aldrig vedklyven om nätkabel, strömbrytare eller någon annan del är skadad.
Defektdel ska bytas av fackman.
• Se till att den här bruksanvisningen alltid följer med produkten och att den förvaras så att den alltid är läsbar
och lätt tillgänglig.
• Försäkra dig om att alla som använder produkten har läst och förstått hela den här bruksanvisningen.
• Var alltid uppmärksam och försiktig. Tänkefter innan du utför ettarbetsmoment så att du kan utföra det på

Varning! Sträck dig inte förlångt. Setill att du står stadigt med god balans helatiden.
Stapla aldrig vedstycken på sådant sätt att du måste sträcka dig för attnå. Använd endast
händerna för att manövrera vedklyven. Använd aldrig andra kroppsdelar eller anordningar
som utsätter dina händer för risken att skadas mellan klyvkniv och vedstycke. Varalltid
uppmärksam på klyvknivens rörelse. Stapla aldrig vedstycken på varandra vid klyvning. För-
sök aldrig placera vedstycken på vedklyven när kolvstången är irörelse. Hållundan händerna
från alla rörligadelar.
Varning! Hållundan händerna när kolvstången går tillbaka efter klyvning. Vedklyven är konstru-
erad för att stanna först när kolvstången gått tillbakahelt. Hållhänderna borta från sprickor
som kan uppstå ivedstycket vid klyvning. Sprickor kan plötsligt slå igen och orsaka kropps-
skada. Försök aldrig ta bort vedstycken som fastnat med händerna.
Tänk på miljön, hantera spillolja enligt lokala föreskrifter.
Kontrollera att vedklyven är oskadad och att inga skyddsanordningar saknas samt att dessa
är korrekt monterade och fungerar. Använd aldrig vedklyven om någon av skyddsanordning-
arna är skadade eller saknas. Kontrollera oljenivån innan vedklyven startas.

Montering
Viktigt!
Se till att alltid ha enmedhjälpare när du monterar vedklyven. Arbetet blir säkrare och enklare om två personer
hjälps åt med monteringen. När du klyver ska du däremot alltid sköta vedklyvens reglageensam.
Tvåpersoner får aldrig sköta reglagen tillsammans.

Viktigt! Kontrollera att luftskruven är åtdragen innan du
vänder vedklyven. Dettaför att förhindra att oljan rinnerut.
