Coffee Maker
Please read theentire instruction manual before use and then save it for future reference.
We reserve theright for any errors in text or images and any necessary changes made
to technical data. In theevent of technical problems or other queries, please contact

Safety
• This product can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of theproduct in asafe way and understand
thehazards involved.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep theproduct and its mains lead out of reach of children
under theage of 8.
• Theproduct may be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or persons with alack of
experience or knowledge which could jeopardise their safety,
provided they have been instructed in thesafe operation of
theproduct and understand thehazards involved.
• Never let children play with theproduct.
• Theproduct is only designed for domestic use or under
similar conditions such as in:
- staff canteens, offices and other staff rooms
- holiday homes and chalets
- in hotel rooms and other forms of temporary accommodation
- Bed and Breakfast facilities
• Theproduct must never be immersed in water during cleaning
or in any other circumstances.
• Avoid spilling liquid onto any electrical connectors.
• Theheating element may be hot after use.

• Themains lead should be checked regularly. Never use
theproduct if themains lead or plug is damaged.
• If themains lead is damaged in any way it must be replaced
by aqualified electrician.
• Theproduct is intended for indoor use only.
• Any children present when theproduct is in use must be
closely supervised.
• Always let theproduct cool completely before cleaning it.
Never place any objects onto theproduct when it is in use or
when hot after use.
• Theproduct must only be used as described in this
instruction manual.
• Place theproduct on aflat, non-flammable surface where air
can circulate freely around it.
• Theproduct must not be used while it is in acabinet or similar
enclosed space.
• Never leave theproduct unattended while in use.
• Unplug theproduct immediately should it begin functioning
abnormally. Never attempt to repair or modify theproduct in
any way.
• Do not place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into
water or other liquids.
• If theproduct has fallen into water or other liquid during use,
do not touch it. Unplug theproduct from theelectrical socket
immediately. Do not try to retrieve theproduct from thewater
with your bare hands.
• Theproduct should only be connected to a230 V AC
electrical socket.
• Make sure that themains lead does not come in contact with
hot surfaces such as cooker hobs.
• Never insert cutlery, tools or similar objects into theproduct.

• Never subject theproduct to water, moisture, shocks or impacts.
• Do not pull or carry theproduct by its mains lead. Do not use
thelead as ahandle and make sure that it is not crushed.
Do not pull thelead around sharp corners or edges.
• Never use theproduct if it, its mains lead or plug is damaged
in any way. Do not use theproduct if you have dropped it
onto thefloor or into water or other liquid.
• Do not open thehousing. Certain unshielded components
inside thehousing carry dangerous voltages. Contact with
these components could result in electric shock.
• Theproduct must only be repaired by qualified service
technicians using original spare parts.
• Theproduct must not be taken apart or modified.

Operating instructions
Before initial use
• Rinse out theglass carafe and filter basket with water beforeuse.
• Before using thecoffee maker you should run themachine through two to three
filtration cycles at full water capacity, but without coffee grounds. Thisshould
also be done when thecoffee maker has not been used for along time, and after
descaling.
• Themeasuring scale on thewater reservoir allows for easy and accurate filling.
Makesure not to exceed themaximum waterlevel.
Brewing
Warning:
• Hot steam will escape from thelid of thefilter holder during brewing. Do not touch
or lift thelid while brewing is in progress. Let thecoffee maker cool before lifting
thelid of thefilter holder.
• Unplug thecoffee maker from theelectrical socket after use.
1. Open thelid and fill thewater tank with thedesired amount of water.
2. Lift thelid over thefilter holder and insert asize 1×4 paper filter or theincluded
reusable filter.
3. Put thedesired amount of ground coffee into thefilter and close thelid.
4. Close thecarafe lid and place thecarafe onto thehotplate. Thecarafe must be
positioned correctly in order for thedrip-stop mechanism on thefilter holder to
function correctly.
5. Plug thecoffee maker into anelectrical socket and press [ ] to switch it on.
Theindicator light inside thepower switch will light when thecoffee maker is
switched on.
6. Wait until all thewater has run through thefilter before trying to remove thecarafe
from thehotplate.
7. Thecoffee maker switches off automatically 40 minutes after it was switched on.
It automatically enters keep-warm mode once brewing is complete.
8. Thecoffee maker can be switched off before the40 minutes has elapsed by
pressing thepower button.
9. Always turn thecoffee maker off after use and unplug it from theelectrical socket.

Care and maintenance
Cleaning
• Always unplug thelead from thepower point and let thecoffee maker cool down
properly before cleaningit.
• Clean thecoffee maker’s exterior using asoft, moistcloth. Useonly mild cleaning
agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Hand wash theglass carafe with alittle washing up liquid and hand dry it with
akitchentowel.
Descaling
• For optimal performance, your coffee maker should be descaled regularly.
• If asubstantial amount of scale is allowed to build up removal will be extremely
difficult even when using adescalingagent. Scalecan also cause leaks in
thebrewing mechanism. Werecommend that thecoffee maker be descaled after
every thirty to fortyuses. Fordescaling you can use amixture of white vinegar
andwater:
1. Mix 2–3 tablespoons of white vinegar (12%) with anamount of cold water equal to
thecoffee maker’s maximum capacity.
2. Pour this solution into thetank. Insert afilter into thefilter basket without coffee.
3. Turn on thecoffee maker and allow it to run through acomplete filteringcycle.
Repeat if necessary. Conduct this descaling process in awell ventilated area and
avoid breathing in theresultingfumes.
4. To clean thecoffee maker after descaling you should run themachine through
2–3filtration cycles using clean water filled to full capacity.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order
to prevent any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling
so that thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When
recycling theproduct, take it to your local collection facility or contact
theplace of purchase. They will ensure that theproduct is disposed of in
anenvironmentally sound manner.
