USER MANUAL
CARE & USE:
Do not apply any external power to the lid when it is in use.
Do not press on the lid when it is opening.
Do not manually open the lid as may cause damage.
ONLY use type AA batteries and remove them once they have run out to prevent leakage. If the bin
fails to operate normally, it. May mean the batteries are running low or need replacing. Please avoid
mixing brands, or using old batteries. Please recycle used batteries responsibly.
Avoid maintaining sensing mode for an extended period to prolong the life of the motor and
batteries.
Do not use water to rinse bin lid or battery compartment. You can wipe with a slightly damp
cleaning cloth when the power is o.
DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER.
Do not use harsh abrasive detergents or scouring pads to clean the main body.
Avoid using the bin in a moist or steamy environment.
Keep the lid sensor away from direct sunlight or lamplight.
Do not place the bin close to high frequency electronic products, i.e.: microwave ovens， energy
saving lamps, or remote controls, etc.
Avoid placing the bin in a contained space and ensure that any obstacles do not block the lid sensor
within a 6.5’ feet (2 meter) distance.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Open the cover of the battery case at the bottom of the bin lid and insert 4xAA batteries (not
included). Ensure the batteries are inserted correctly (+/-) as indicated. Replace the battery cover.
• Push the retaining ring onto the bin body, making sure the liner edges are tucked inside the bin
and are neatly concealed and secured into position.
• Turn on the power switch next to the battery compartment. The red indicator light will be lit for 2
seconds and then ash once every 4 seconds to show that the sensor is working and ready for use.
How to Use:
• To open the bin, hold your hand about 2 - 6” inches (5-15cm) in front of the lid and it will
automatically open within a half second.
• Once your hand is removed from the sensor area, the lid will automatically close within 5-6
seconds.
Indicator Lights:
• The indicator light ashes red (every four seconds).
• When the lid opens, the indicator light shows green.
• When the lid closes, the indicator light shows red.
• Keeping your hand within the sensor area will keep the lid open.
Batteries
The batteries can last between 2-4months based on the bin lid opening and closing up to 20 times
per day.
Bin Freshener
The freshener holder is located on the underside of the bin lid. To insert a freshener remove the lid
from the body and switch the power o. Slide the freshener holder towards the lid Opening side (not
towards the hinge of the lid), place your favorite scented freshener inside the holder and slide it in.
WARRANTY
1-Year Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty
Your Colston product is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. For a period of one
year following date of purchase, Colston will repair or replace your product should it fail due to a
manufacturer’s defect (subject to certain limitations such as, but not limited to, use of the product
as directed or performing the intended function during which the product may become damaged).
This one-year limited warranty does not cover any damage that results from unauthorized or
improper use, service, or repair. Further, it does not cover damage caused by accident, negligence,
purposeful harm, or normal wear and tear. Should you discover your Colston product is not
functioning properly, please send your product to our repair center for evaluation, at the address
listed below. If your product cannot be repaired or serviced, we reserve the right to exchange it for a
similar or newer model.
Please note that a at processing fee of $35.00 will be charged to cover the service evaluation and
return shipping of your product. All limited warranty claims must be accompanied by a copy of your
proof of purchase from an authorized retailer. Please send your product, proof of purchase, and a
