Simple Set-Up Instructions
Determinewhereyou’dliketoplaceyourEnergyAllydevice. You’llwanteasyaccesstoitforconvenientviewing,andaccess toanearbywalloutletifusingtheplug-inoption.
Evenwhenusingtheplug-inoption,werecommendinstalling batteriessoinformationisstoredduringapoweroutageor devicerelocation.
1. RemoveEnergyAlly
devicefromboxand
insert2AAbatteries.
NOTE:Itisrecommendedto
replacethebatteriesatleast
onceayear(every12months)
withgoodqualitybatteriessuch
asEnergizer®orDuracell®AA
(devicerequires2).
OR 1. Insertsmallsquareend
ofpowercordinto
leftsideofdevice.
2.Insertpowercordinto
blockpoweradapter.
3. Plugblockadapterinto
awalloutlet.
Ifyouwouldliketomountittothewall,awallmountand

theEnergyAllydevice.

UsingYour Energy Ally™Device
•Youcanpoweronyourdevicebyplugginginthepowercord,
insertingthebatteries,orboth.Oncepoweredon,you’llseethe
ComEdlogoonthescreen.
•Nextyouwillseea“searchingforsignal”messagewithaprogress
indicator.Itmaytakeseveralminutes tofindasignal,andmaytake
upto24hourstoreceivedata.
•Oncethedeviceisreceivingdata,thescreenwilldisplay
informationaboutyourenergyuse.

Display If you are enrolled in
ComEd’s Hourly Pricing
Program, your device will
display the current hourly
average price per
kilowatt-hour (kWh).
Your device will display an
estimate of your current
month’s energy use in kWh
compared to the same
month last year.
CheckMark If you see a check mark and
a message underneath,
prices are lower than the
fixed rate so it is a better
time to use energy.
If you see a check mark and
a message underneath, your
energy usage is trending
lower than this month last
year. Good job!
XMark If you see an x mark and
a message underneath,
prices are higher than the
fixed rate so it is a good time
to reduce your energy use.
If you see an x mark and
a message underneath,
your energy usage is high
compared to this month last
year. This means you should
reduce energy use to help
lower your energy bill.
If you see dashes on the screen, information about your
energy use is temporarily unavailable.
