PRODUCT INFORMATION
The Compax Oneis a smart waste bin, which automatically reduces waste by up to 15 times its original volume by use of a
unique vacuum technology. The Compax Oneis mainly intended for compaction of paper towels but is nonetheless capable of
compacting most general waste. The Compax Oneis equipped with sensors that monitor the waste fullness level and detects
motion. As paper waste is loaded into the Compax One Original Bag, the appliance trigger and initiates a compression cycle
automatically as soon as the waste fullness level exceeds ¾ and the room is cleared.
1
The motion detector is mainly
implemented to ensure the safety of users and other personnel, in addition to availability of the product. Hence, the Compax
Oneis always ready for accommodating waste.
2
Additional safety is implemented through sensors monitoring resistance and
abrupt movement during opening and closing of the lid. If there is too much resistance, i.e., something is hindering the lid
movement, the operation is aborted and reversed.
OVERALL FUNCTIONALITY
During a compression cycle, an electrically operated lid rotates down and seals off the Compax One Original Bagbefore the
internal air is evacuated and the content thereby compacted as vacuum is attained. The overall functionality of the Compax
Oneis here provided through the six stages of a compression cycle.
STAGE 1: OPEN CONFIGURATION
The Compax Oneis in normal or stand-by mode
with the lid open, ready for accommodation of
waste. The appliance is used in the same way as a
regular waste bin.
STAGE 2: CLOSING CONFIGURATION
In order for the Compax Oneto initiate a
compression cycle, the waste fullness level must be
triggered. The electrically operated lid then rotates
down to seal the Compax One Original Bag.
STAGE 3: CLOSED CONFIGURATION
To ensure sealing of the waste bag, a gasket is
attached on top of the bag holder device. When the
lid reaches the closed position, the Compax One
Original Bagis sealed between the gasket and the
lid, and evacuation of the internal air is initiated.
STAGE 4: COMPRESSING CONFIGURATION
When the Compax One Original Bagis sealed, the
air is evacuated from the bag. The shape and design
of the lid ensures a smooth distribution of the
airflow, thus preventing clogging of the system.
Access to the internal electronics is impeded by a
cover closing the accommodation hole during compression.
STAGE 5: OPENING CONFIGURATION
After approximately 70 seconds,
3
when the
waste is thoroughly compressed, vacuum is
released, and the Compax One Original Bagis
no longer sealed. Ambient pressure is let back
into the waste bag, the compressed waste falls
to the bottom of the waste bag, and the lid
rotates back up to the upper position.
STAGE 6: OPEN CONFIGURATION
The Compax Oneis now back in normal or
stand-by mode with the lid open. Hence, the
Compax Oneis ready for additional
accommodation of waste.
NOTE: For the Compax Oneto function properly and as
intended, the disposable Compax One Original Bag, must
be installed correctly. The waste bag must be at least half
full before proper compaction is noticeable. Otherwise, the
waste bag is susceptible to clog the evacuation slits in the
lid and prevent the remaining air from being evacuated.
Damage may occur if the door is opened during

DIMENSIONS AND CUSTOMISATION
DIMENSIONS
Confirm that there is room for the Compax Oneon the
wall, and that it is positioned appropriately according to the
washroom layout. Allow a wall area of 38 cm x 81 cm to be
cleared before installation.
Allow some space in front of the Compax Oneto rotate
open the door. A quarter circular path with a radius of 58
cm should be sufficient. To enable proper bag installation
and removal, the bag holder device must be completely
pivoted outwards. Therefore, the door must not be
hindered from being fully opened.
Allow approximately 20 cm clearance from the floor to the
bottom of the Compax One. This results in a height of 85
cm from the floor to the accommodation hole after
installation, in compliance with the rules of universal
design.
The Compax Onemay be installed in any convenient
space on a solid wall. The wall must withstand the dead
weight of the Compax Oneand a full Compax One Original
Bagsumming up to a total of 15 kg.
The appliance and the fasteners attaching it to the wall are
NOT designed to withstand external forces exceeding this
weight. However, the wall should withstand some
additional weight, exceeding 15 kg, in case someone is e.g.,
leaning onto the Compax One.
CUSTOMISATION
The door should be secured to the Compax Onebefore
installation begins. The hinges of the door are set to the
right-hand side by default. However, it is possible to switch
the rotation of the door by simply dismantling the door and
installing it upside down, such that the hinges are on the
left-hand side instead. The following procedure describes
how to change the direction of the door:
▪Open the door to approximately 90 °.
▪Find the spring-loaded pin underneath the lower hinge
and push it up while tilting the door away from its
hinged axis.
▪When the lower hinge is free from its designated hole,
the upper hinge can be gently guided free from its
corresponding hole, and the door is released from the
cabinet.
To reinstall the door, reverse the actions described in the
three bullet points above. Make sure that the rotation of
the door is smooth, that the hinges are properly installed,
and that the door is free to rotate fully open.
If the direction of the door is changed, it is recommended
to change the direction of the cabinet lock rotation as well.
INSTALLATION PREPARATION
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
For personal safety, keep the power cable plugged out, remove local fuse or open circuit breaker
before installation to avoid severe or fatal shock injury. Do not use an extension cord or adapter plug with the Compax One.
▪The power supply cable and plug should be brought to a separate branch circuit and grounded receptacle. The power outlet
should be located within reach of the included power cable.
▪The Compax Onemust be supplied with 220-240 V at a frequency of 50-60 Hz and connected to an individual properly
grounded branch circuit, protected by a suitable circuit breaker or fuse.
▪The Compax Onemust be connected to a branch circuit with constant power, i.e., without any switches breaking the
power supply on an intentional or regular basis (e.g., light or circuit switch controlled by timer or motion detection).
▪If the electrical supply does not meet the above requirements, contact a licensed electrician before proceeding.
REMEMBER: Observe and comply with all governing codes and ordinances.

Page | 7
GROUNDING REQUIREMENTS
Improper connection of the grounding conductor appurtenant to the Compax Onemay result in a
risk of electric shock. If you are in doubt of whether the appliance is properly grounded, check with a qualified electrician or
a service representative.
▪Electrical ground is REQUIRED on the Compax One.
▪DO NOT ground to a gas pipe.
▪DO NOT change the plug on the power supply cable. If it does not fit the outlet, have a suited outlet installed by a qualified
electrician.
▪DO NOT have a fuse in the neutral or grounding circuit as this may cause an electric shock.
▪DO NOT use an extension cord or adapter with the Compax One.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
The Compax Oneis for use on a nominal 220-240 V mains circuit and is equipped with a power supply cable consisting of three
conductors for line, neutral and ground. The Schuko plug (CEE 7/4) features two pins for the line and neutral contacts, and two
flat contact areas for protective ground. The Schuko plug should always be used in
the proper grounding-type receptacle, Schuko socket (CEE 7/3).
If a Schuko type wall receptacle is not available, it is the responsibility and
obligation of the customer to have it installed by a qualified electrician. A direct
connection of the power cable to the nearest properly grounded branch circuit may
serve as an alternative to the general plug and socket, if installed by a qualified
electrician. The green (or green and yellow) coloured conductor in the cord is the
grounding wire. Never connect the grounding wire to a live terminal.
UNBOXING THE COMPAX ONE
Move the Compax One
Proper unboxing should leave the Compax Onestanding upright on a support structure
being part of the packaging.
Remove all protective packaging materials before use.
Check that all necessary parts are supplied.
IMPORTANT: Use parts of the packaging carton, or similar, as protection between the floor
and the Compax Onein order to prevent any damage. Do not slide the appliance across
the floor as this may cause damage to the floor and/or the appliance.
MEASURING AND DRILLING HOLES
Tape the installation template, included in the packaging, to the assigned wall area.
Mark four spots on the wall according to the installation template.
Ensure that the marks are correctly placed and levelled before proceeding.
Use a drilling machine with a drill bit of size Ø6 mm and drill a hole for each marked spot
on the wall.

Page | 8
INSERTING PLUGS AND SCREWS
When the four holes are fully drilled, the corresponding plastic plugs can be gently
punched into the holes using a hammer or mallet.
Ensure that the plastic plugs are flush with the wall before screwing the screws into
their respective plastic plug.
REMEMBER: Place a rubber washer onto each screw before screwing it in.
Do not screw the screws all the way in, as they are supposed to go through the key
holes in the back wall of the Compax One, and properly suspend it. Leave
approximately 10 mm of the screw to be tightened after the Compax Oneis in
place.
SUSPENDING AND SECURING THE COMPAX ONE
Rotate open the Compax Onedoor and pull out the bag holder device in order to see all four
key holes on the back wall of the appliance frame.
Lift the Compax Oneup against the wall at the installation location. Ensure that the screws
enter each of the four keyholes, and carefully let the appliance frame rest on the screws by
gradually letting go of it.
Ensure that the rubber strip at the back wall of the Compax Oneis correctly arranged against
the washroom wall, i.e., straight and without wrinkles or folds.
Once suspended onto the four screws, the screws should be tightened sufficiently, securing
the Compax Oneto the wall. Use a level while tightening the screws to keep the Compax
Onelevelled.
Verify that the clearance between the floor and the lowermost part of the Compax One
approximately 20 cm.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF THE COMPAX ONE
As soon as the Compax Oneis securely installed to the wall, the power supply cable can be inserted through the hole in the
bottom of the appliance frame and connected to the corresponding socket on the appliance end. Depending on the room for
which the Compax Oneis to be installed, the power supply cable may be connected to the mains power network through plug
and socket, or directly onto a grounded branch circuit.
In the former case, the plug should be pulled out of the socket in advance to prevent possible live current at the connector end,
which ultimately may cause electrical shock. In the latter case, a local fuse or a circuit breaker should remove the live current
from the circuit while plugging the power supply cable into the appliance.
IMPORTANT: A qualified electrician is required in order to perform connection directly onto a branch circuit.
Make sure that the mechanical connection between the power supply cable and the Compax Oneis properly secured before
letting live current through the closed circuit.
FINALISE THE INSTALLATION
As soon as the Compax Oneis securely installed to the wall, the power cable should be let
through the appropriate hole in the Compax Oneframe before the power plug can be
inserted into its corresponding socket. DO NOT connect the power plug to the Compax One
before it is securely mounted to the wall. Remember to close the circuit with the local fuse or
circuit breaker if it was priorly opened.
When the Compax Oneis connected to power, secure the power cable with the attached
cable ties at the inner back wall of the appliance frame using the integrated cable tie holders.
Make sure that there is a small loop of excess cable for the purpose of stress relief before
tightening the cable ties.
Rotate the bag holder device properly back in place, and make sure to close the door.
Congratulations, your Compax Oneis now fully installed!

PRODUCT USE AND OPERATION
INTENDED USE
In order for the Compax Oneto function as intended, it must be used in the correct manner. Some guidelines regarding the
intended use of the product are given below.
LOADING
The Compax Oneis, by design, always ready for
accommodation of waste. However, the appliance may be
allowed to complete an already ongoing compression cycle
despite people entering the room, based on customer
preference.
To maintain a proper sealing of the waste bag, keep the
gasket clean and uncontaminated.
The Compax Oneis intended for paper waste and light
general waste. Do not load bulky items that does not fit
into the container, and never attempt to force it in.
The waste bag is susceptible to puncture if sharp and pointy
items are loaded.
NOTE: Although it is not necessary for the Compax Oneto
run more than one compression cycle between each
loading of waste, it is suggested that the Compax One
should be set to compact every time its built-in algorithm
calculates a need for compaction in order to achieve
maximum volume efficiency.
COMPACTING
Starting the Compax One:
1. Ensure that the Compax Oneis connected to the
mains power network. The light on top of the Compax
Oneindicates power connection.
2. Make sure the bag holder device is in its correct
position and that the door is properly closed.
3. A compression cycle will initiate as soon as the waste
bag is filled up and no recent movement is detected.
A full compression cycle lasts for approximately 70 seconds.
As the container fills up with waste, the cycle time
progressively shortens. However, there are two events that
are plausible reasons for the Compax Oneto reopen the
lid subsequent to an initiated compression cycle:
Timeout: If the compression cycle is not stopped after
approximately 70 seconds, it will be stopped by exceeding a
timeout threshold of 85 seconds.
4
Interruption: If motion is detected during a compression
cycle, the cycle is terminated. In this case the Compax
One
may be
allowed to complete a compression cycle despite people
entering the room, based on customer preference.
Stopping the Compax One:
The Compax Onemay be stopped at any time.
1. As soon as motion is detected in the room the lid will,
by default, rotate up to its stand-by position. However,
allowed to complete an already ongoing compression
cycle despite people entering the room. Hence further
2. Open the door and reach for the power plug at the top
of the back wall and pull it out. If the Compax One
connected to the mains power network via a regular
power plug in a wall-socket easily accessible, this plug
can be pulled out instead.
NOTES:
Compaction of the waste will not occur the first few times
it is loaded. The waste fullness level should exceed
approximately ¾ before Compax Oneinitiates
compression, and for the compression to be efficient.
When sharp and/or pointy items are loaded and
compacted, small punctures and tears in the bag may
occur. This is relatively normal and only slightly affects the
performance of the Compax Onedue to the way these
compression cycle. However, if the hole is large, it may
affect the performance to an increasing extent.
Bottles and other containers will not necessarily be
compacted if loaded. However, such items will not affect
the performance beyond taking up the same volume
before, during and after the content is compacted.
4
Timeout threshold limit may be altered based on customer need.

LIGHT COLOURS AND MACHINE STATE
The visible light on the top of the Compax Oneindicates the different states of the appliance. The different states and light
signals are explained further in the table below.
OPERATION
In order for the Compax Oneto function as intended, it must be operated in the correct manner. Some guidelines are given
below, regarding operation of the product.
WASTE BAG INSTALLATION
Before installing a new waste bag, make sure that:
The door is unlocked and open, and that the
bag holder device is tilted outwards.
The gasket on top of the bag holder device is
clean and not in any way damaged or loose.
The container is clean and free of sharp
debris that may puncture the bag.
Installing a new
1. Place the bag into the container, open the bag and pull
the top edges over and around the top of the bag
holder device.
2. Pull the two pre-punched holes over the bag retainer
flanges on the back and front of the bag holder device,
to ensure that the waste bag is firmly held in place
both during and after compression.
3. For best compaction, properly open the bag to enable
a fair amount of waste to accumulate before a
compression cycle is initiated.
5
If the rotation of the door has been flipped, and the direction of the cabinet lock rotation has been changed accordingly, the knob should be
turned 90 ֯counterclockwise.
WASTE BAG REMOVAL
When the waste in the can no
longer be further compressed, the waste bag is full and
should be removed and replaced by a new one.
1. Open the door by turning the knob clockwise 90 ֯,
5
pulling it out and rotating it open.
2. Pull out the bag holder device.
3. Remove the handles of the bag off the retainer flanges
in the front and back of the bag holder device. Further
remove the top of the bag from the gasket and the top
section of the bag holder device.
4. Close the bag, push it down into the hole in the top
section of the bag holder device, and lift it out from
underneath the bag holder device.

FORSEEABLE MISUSE AND MISOPERATION
There are several ways in which the
Compax Onemay be affected as a result of being
improperly used or operated. Events that may affect the
Compax Oneis described in brief below:
IMPROPER INSTALLATION
Installation of the Compax Onein an angle with the wall
may lead to erroneous sensor readings of the lid position.
This either occurs due to the back wall of the appliance not
being flush with the washroom wall or because the
appliance is not levelled properly in the vertical direction.
Hence, precise, accurate and safe positioning of the
rotating lid may not be guaranteed.
LEANING, HANGING, OR CLIMBING
Never allow anyone to climb, hang, lean or sit on or in the
Compax One.Loading of the appliance and the fasteners
attaching it to the wall beyond what they are designed to
withstand may lead to loosening and result in damage of
the appliance and the wall. The door and bag holder device
are especially susceptible to break during such unintended
loading.
If the Compax Oneloosens or drops to the floor, there is a
risk that the power cable may break as well, which
consequently can short circuit or in worst case expose
people or animals in the vicinity of the appliance to live
current.
INCORRECT LOADING
Sharp and pointy items may lead to puncture of the waste
bag and consequently worsen the Compax One
performance. Also, sharp and pointy items may cause harm
or injuries due to protrusion through the waste bag during
bag change or transportation.
Hot or burning items may lead to fire inside the Compax
Onewhich further may cause harm or injuries. Another
outcome is that the hot or burning items may possibly melt
hole(s) in the waste bag, consequently, worsen the Compax
Oneperformance.
Flammable items may lead to easy ignition and
consequently fire inside the Compax One.
Explosive items may lead to dangerous situations where the
vacuum can cause an explosion. Also, explosion hazards
may occur during further transportation and processing of
the waste.
Toxic items or substances may lead to poisoning of people,
animals, and other organisms in the vicinity of the Compax
One.
Corrosive items or substances may lead to harm or injuries
of objects, people, animals, or other organisms in the
vicinity of the Compax One.
6
The default timeout limit is set to 9.0 seconds but is configurable based on customer needs.
7
To exit the stationary state, a system reboot must be performed.
NOTE: Consult with Compax Solutions Customer Service before performing system reboot.
Overloading of the Compax Onemay lead to overflowing
waste and unhygienic surroundings. Also, in the case where
the waste is jammed between the moving lid and the
gasket, proper performance is not guaranteed. Lastly, if the
waste is heavily compacted, stiff, or not especially
compressible, the lid safety function may trigger and hinder
completion of compression cycles.
Too much liquid or water may lead to suffocation of the
suction device or potentially cause the liquid or water to be
sucked through the system and ultimately spread inside the
bottom container of the Compax One, in which case clean
up might be necessary.
Organisms, animals, or people loaded in the Compax One
may lead to injury, harm or even death due to suffocation.
Under NO circumstances should any animal or human being
be loaded into the Compax One.
VANDALISM
Beating, kicking, punching, or bumping into the Compax
Onemay lead to broken parts and sub-assemblies which
consequently may worsen the performance of the
appliance. Furthermore, the aesthetics may be negatively
affected. In extreme cases the Compax Onemay suffer
the consequence of detaching from the wall or even drop
to the floor due to breakage of the attachment means or
the wall itself.
If the attachment means break and the Compax One
detaches or drops to the floor, there is a risk of breakage of
the power cable as well, which may short circuit or in worst
case expose people or animals in the vicinity of the
appliance to live current.
OBSTRUCTION OR JAMMING OF ROTATING LID
If an object is placed in the space for which the rotating lid
moves, this may cause damage to the appliance and
ultimately lead to malfunction.
Constant triggering of the safety system may negatively
affect the Compax Oneperformance.
Conscious hindering of the rotating motion of the lid by
approaching the Compax Oneduring a compression cycle
may cause damage to the appliance and ultimately lead to
malfunction.
NOTE: If the obstruction does not cause the lid motion to
be aborted and reversed due to an abnormal or abrupt
resistance, it will try and continue closing. However, if the
time the lid uses to reach the closed configuration exceeds
the predetermined timeout limit,
6
the Compax Onewill
enter a stationary state in order not to cause harm on
neither appliance nor personnel.
7

Page | 12
PREVENTING MOTION DETECTOR FUNCTIONALITY
If the motion detector is covered or in any other way
prevented from detecting movement, initiation of a
compression cycle may occur despite people or animals
being present and in the vicinity of the appliance.
ROUGH INTERACTION WITH THE MOTION DETECTOR
Careless and rough interaction with the motion detector
may cause damage leading to sensor dysfunction, and
thereby remove the primary safety barrier and mitigate the
performance of the Compax One.
ROUGH INTERACTION WITH THE WASTE FULLNESS LEVEL
SENSOR AND LENS
Careless and rough interaction with the waste fullness level
sensor and lens may cause damage leading to sensor
dysfunction, and thereby prevent proper performance of
the Compax One.
ROUGH INTERACTION WITH HINGES AND OTHER MOVING
PARTS
Careless and rough interaction with hinges and other
moving parts may cause loosening or malfunction of
respective components.
ROUGH INTERACTION WITH GASKET
Careless and rough interaction with the gasket may cause
loosening or misalignment of gasket during compression.
Consequently, this may lead to poor sealing and thereby
poor performance of the Compax One.
FAULTY INSTALLATION OF WASTE BAG
Faulty installation of the waste bag may cause poor
performance of the appliance and ultimately damage the
Compax One.
FAULTY PRODUCT HANDLING
Careless and rough handling of the Compax Onecan
cause excessive wear and tear, which may result in loose
and damaged parts causing improper functionality like e.g.,
poor sealing or rough, and uneven movement, ultimately
damaging the appliance.
FAULTY CLEANING OF PRODUCT
Improper or inconsistent cleaning of the Compax One
over time may result in gradually decreasing performance,
which ultimately could damage the appliance.
Heavy washing or squirting of water or other liquids on or
near the top module of the Compax Onemay damage the
electronics and result in malfunction of the appliance.
PRODUCT CARE
MAINTENANCE
Compax Oneneeds proper and regular care and maintenance in order to provide the continued performance and quality
expected of it. Occasional maintenance like lubricating the cabinet lock may be necessary.
CLEANING THE COMPAX ONE
General cleaning can be done while the Compax Oneis powered ON and in stand-by configuration. However, periodic, and
more thorough cleaning should be done with the Compax Onepowered OFF, i.e., with the power plug pulled out.
GENERAL CLEANING (EXTERIOR)
Steel and plastic panels:
Wipe all external surfaces with a clean damp cloth. Pure
spirit, a mixture of spirit and water, soapy water, or clean
water may all be utilised to dampen the cloth.
BE AWARE: Colour degradation may occur if strong
chemical solutions are used on painted surfaces or plastic
parts over time.
Slitted plate and the waste fullness level lens:
Wipe both the slitted plate and the waste fullness level lens
with a clean damp cloth.
Special care should be given near the lens of the waste
fullness level sensor, as the sensor functionality is
susceptible to contamination, scratches, and other
imperfections in the plastic cover.
BE AWARE: Both colour and translucency may degrade if
strong chemical solutions are used directly on the plastic
material of the waste fullness level sensor lens, thereby
negatively influence the performance of the Compax One.
Make sure that waste residues and other unwanted
particles are removed from the perforations in the slitted
plate.
PERIODIC CLEANING (INTERIOR)
Open the door to its maximum rotation. The door may be
temporarily dismantled by following the steps provided in
the Product Installation section.
Vacuum the inside of the cabinet with a vacuum cleaner.
Liquid spills or wet waste should be cleaned up by hand.
Wash, rinse and dry the inside.
NOTE: Prevent water from penetrating into the top
module. This may lead to damage of the Compax One
electronics.
IMPORTANT: Do not rinse with heavy water jets or
pressure washer. This may lead to damage of the Compax
Oneelectronics.

electronic equipment comprises a mark including a crossed-out wheelie bin with a single black line underneath the symbol, as
