Warranty Policy
ComtechEFDataproductsarewarrantedagainstdefectsinmaterialandworkmanship
foraspecificperiodfromthedateofshipment,andthisperiodvariesbyproduct.In
mostcases,thewarrantyperiodistwoyears.Duringthewarrantyperiod,ComtechEF
Datawill,atitsoption,repairorreplaceproductsthatprovetobedefective.Repairsare
warrantedfortheremainderoftheoriginalwarrantyora90dayextendedwarranty,
whicheverislonger.ContactComtechEFDataforthewarrantyperiodspecifictothe
productpurchased.
Forequipmentunderwarranty,theownerisresponsibleforfreighttoComtechEFData
andallrelatedcustoms,taxes,tariffs,insurance,etc.ComtechEFDataisresponsiblefor
thefreightchargesonlyforreturnoftheequipmentfromthefactorytotheowner.
ComtechEFDatawillreturntheequipmentbythesamemethod(i.e.,Air,Express,
Surface)astheequipmentwassenttoComtechEFData.
AllequipmentreturnedforwarrantyrepairmusthaveavalidRMAnumberissuedprior
toreturnandbemarkedclearlyonthereturnpackaging.ComtechEFDatastrongly
recommendsallequipmentbereturnedinitsoriginalpackaging.
ComtechEFDataCorporation’sobligationsunderthiswarrantyarelimitedtorepairor
replacementoffailedparts,andthereturnshipmenttothebuyeroftherepairedor
replacedparts.
Limitations of Warranty
Thewarrantydoesnotapplytoanypartofaproductthathasbeeninstalled,altered,
repaired,ormisusedinanywaythat,intheopinionofComtechEFDataCorporation,
wouldaffectthereliabilityordetractsfromtheperformanceofanypartoftheproduct,
orisdamagedastheresultofuseinawayorwithequipmentthathadnotbeen
previouslyapprovedbyComtechEFDataCorporation.
Thewarrantydoesnotapplytoanyproductorpartsthereofwheretheserialnumberorthe
serialnumberofanyofitspartshasbeenaltered,defaced,orremoved.
Thewarrantydoesnotcoverdamageorlossincurredintransportationoftheproduct.The
warrantydoesnotcoverreplacementorrepairnecessitatedbylossordamagefromany
causebeyondthecontrolofComtechEFDataCorporation,suchaslightningorother
naturalandweatherrelatedeventsorwartimeenvironments.

consequentialdamagesarisingfromtheuseoftheequipmentorproducts,orforany

Afixedchargeestablishedforeachproductwillbeimposedforallequipmentreturned

Figure1‐2showsthefrontandrearpanelsoftheLBC‐4000.TheLBC‐4000isa1RU‐high,19‐inch
widechassis(Figure1‐3)thatisdesignedformountingintoastandard19‐inchequipmentrack.
Thefrontpanelhandlesallowquickinstallationintoandremovaloftheunitfromthe
equipmentrack.Theunitmayalsobefreestandingifdesired.
TheLBC‐4000drop‐downfrontpanelprovidesaccesstotheON/OFFswitchandbaysfortwo
upconvertermodules,ortwodownconvertermodules,oroneofeach.
Alloperatorcontrols,indicatorsanddisplaysarelocatedontheLBC‐4000frontpanel.
Externalinterfaceconnectors,includingthoseintendedforserialremoteMonitorandControl
(M&C),arelocatedontheLBC‐4000rearpanel.
